Changing my vote to Battletech
While I really want to play CoH2, I think Battletech would be better to play with a group. CoH I can play at any time, whereas I've struggled to get into Battletech and would love to discuss mechanics as I go.
Massive Chalice gets my vote!
Battletech is not only on the pile, but one I was planning to get to this year, so that's my vote.
I'm voting for Alpha Centauri. Tempted by Battletech, but that's a hefty campaign to commit to at the moment.
Battletech. Recently purchased on strong recommendations, I played one scenario and somehow it didn't grab me. Need to get back on that horse I guess.
Company of Heroes 2 for me. I’ve got and played Battletech when it was released, but I’ve never really gone through the DLCs. It’s a great game but had its issues on release.
Good list though!
Battletech. That is all.
Oh boy, two of my favourite games of all time on there. Tough choice but I'll go for Total War: Shogun 2. It's been five years since my last re-play so it might be time for another one!
Company of Heroes 2 here.
Battletech
Let's goooo!
Battletech was one of the reasons I ended up upgrading my PC, but even though I bought it shortly after, it never stuck with me. It was a bit slow and I ended up playing something else and never returning.
But I find the Battletech universe so interesting, I'm looking forward to playing it with you all. Sometimes I just need that little bit of motivation to get stuck in.
Also, I don't know if anyone plays, but I've sunk a good bit of time into the free to play MechWarrior Online. I'll be honest, it's not a "good" game, but it does feel nice to stomp around and shoot things. It might be cool to supplement our playthrough with a few rounds of jolly stompy GWJ cooperation.
Oh, I missed this thread. Another club with games I can fail at playing.
Unlike CRPGs where I play a lot of them when they release, there might be a good chance I haven’t already played the games here at least.
Battletech is technically somewhere in my pile since I got it through Humble at some point.
Well this has provided a weird opportunity.
I played part-way through the campaign when the game launched.
I recently bought the DLC and re-started the campaign, but have since found out that the Flashpoint DLC is gated beyond the end of the campaign.
So I think I'm going to start a career mode playthrough, which should get me access to the DLC off the bat.
Sorry. Wrong thread!
Somehow I missed this thread and having heard it mentioned on the GWJ CC here I am! I enjoy strategy games a lot and 'somehow' have a few in my backlog to either start or get back to, I'll put my vote in for the next round.
I've played a bit of Battletech but been meaning to get back to it, so I'll be joining up for this first game
I'm looking forward to seeing the second game. My heart was in for doing the first game but I knew I wasn't going to have that much time.
Ranks sounds good to me. With two ranks per game, I wonder if you'll run out fairly soon? Maybe you'd want to have Private I, Private II, etc., (or Knight I, Knight II, etc.) up to five, or three, or something, for each rank?
CK3?
Sure it's new, but it's also on Game Pass.
Forgot it was nomination time. I have some games that I'd be interested in exploring with the club that I might not get around to otherwise (HOI4 and maybe an early X-COM game come to mind), but for this go around, I'm thinking something with a shorter campaign since there's a decent change I'll participate in multiple clubs this quarter.
With that in mind, I'll nominate Endless Space 2.
I'll nominate Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus
I'll go with Into the Breach I think - something easy to dip into and out of a little, after my aborted Battletech campaign.

I was thinking to suggest the same thing! Nice.
