Yes, fantastic acting and writing.
Murder in Boston: Roots, Rampage, and Reckoning
A true crime documentary and a history of institutional racism in (one city in) America? The only shame of this is that they're doing one episode a week.
Barbie
I enjoyed it and believe it's one of the top films of the year but I have this fear that the powers that be at WBD is going to turn this into a franchise and run it right into the ground.
This was a great video about Barbie along with a similar prediction for the future of toy-movies. Spoiler, they've all learned the wrong lesson and we're going to be flooded with a deluge of garbage for the next 5 years because of it. Its as predictable as it is somehow unavoidable.
As far back as James Cameron's Titanic, I remember seeing a newspaper comic (couldn't find it, but the art is unimportant):
Caption: What Hollywood should learn from Titanic:
Executive to boardroom: People, the key is to get out of the way and let creative people create! Get cracking!

Executive to boardroom: People, what audiences want is historical disaster movies involving big boats! Get cracking!
There is a Youtube video series called "Directors on Directors". Oddly enough a recent one featured James Cameron and Greta Gerwig. It was an absolutely fascinating discussion. They are both writers and directors so the typical questions about process were more in depth and you could strongly feel the mutual curiosity.

Ooh, that sounds cool. I want to find that video!
This is dangerous. One of my favorite things to watch is talented, creative people talking about their process. I just might spend all day, or however long it takes, watching all of these videos!
Should I mention there is a series for "Actors on Actors" as well as roundtable discussions for:
Actors, Directors, Writers, Producers, and I recently saw they did one for Cinematographers?
The well is deep my friend. The most recent one I looked at was Kristen Stewart and Shia Lebouf. I couldn't not watch the train wreck. But I had to turn it off after 1-2 minutes of even more unpalatable awkwardness than you can imagine.
David Zaslav wants to f*ck up another iconic Hollywood studio. Or, we're going to have to merge this thread with the Paramount+ thread no one uses.
Man if he starts f*cking with Star Trek
I mean, what's he gonna do to Star Trek that Kurtzman hasn't already done?
Man if he starts f*cking with Star Trek
My concern as well.

This is tiresome, there's been a lot of great Trek lately.
There's been a lot of mediocre Trek recently, too. I'm overall net positive about the current state of Trek though.
Let's see:
Poor Trek: Picard
Mediocre Trek: Discovery
Great Trek: Prodigy, Strange New Worlds, Lower Decks
Not really "a lot of mediocre Trek," in my opinion.
Is Lower Decks related to Below Deck?
Because THAT sounds like a fun show!

The third season of Picard was outstanding.

Not if you were fans of Ro Laren and Elizabeth Shelby.

LOL I have no idea who they are.

Oh wait, they came to me. I actually like those characters. Their full names confused me.

Nah, if you think about the plot for more than two seconds, it all falls apart.

I'm a simple guy. You use a star ship to throw an asteroid at another I'm happy. You guys were probably like oh no that is silly it made me drop my grey poupon tut tut huff huff. I was crushing beer cans on my forehead screaming how F ing awesome that was. ha ha.
Well it is all cool. Convinced myself, I seek not to convince. Trash it to hell, I'll still love it and you'll still hate it. World keeps on spinning.
Fair enough.
I watched Blue Beetle and can say there are now 3 DCU movies that I like. It was an enjoyable romp that reminded me of the first Iron Man movie in all the right ways.
Nah, if you think about the plot for more than two seconds, it all falls apart.
Say what now?

Hahahahaha I'm dying.
Yeah, that was awesome.
Huh. Jensen Ackles voiced Batman in some of the direct-to-video animated movies. I remember seeing him in Supernatural and thinking he'd be a good young Batman. At this point he's certainly old enough to just be a good Batman. Looks like he's in the Long Halloween adaptation. I'll have to check those out before they get taken down to "save money."
Also stay tuned for Josh Duhamel as the best Harvey Dent since the late Richard Moll. And stay tuned for deviations from the source material that'll make you go, "Do you want Two-Face, because that's how you get Two-Face!"

He was Jason Todd in Under the Red Hood, which is one of their finest animated films to date.
