NFL 2019: Championship Weekend!!!

Okay they would definitely be trying harder in 7-on-7.

Why does there need to be exhibition football at all?

No more:
Preseason games
Pro Bowl
Bowl games that aren't part of a playoff

Perhaps I am just a indolent millennial, but I cannot believe there was ever a time and place in history where people took the Pro Bowl to be a SERIOUS COMPETITION.

The Pro Bowl exists because it will once again be the dominant cable TV broadcast of the weekend.

A ton of money is made here and many of these games are enjoyable. Many people would rather watch their team play than watch the tournament games, myself included. I don't root for anyone in the SEC so I generally do not care which SEC team wins the national championship. The only reason I watch it is to get together with some friends.

Browns bring back Andrew Berry to be their GM. Another win for DePodesta.

George Paton pulled himself out of consideration after reportedly having some questions about the "power structure" of the franchise. An assertion that others later disputed, but phoning up someone at ESPN to get a denial circulating seems to be SOP for the Browns once someone from the outside gets a peek behind the curtain and runs away screaming.

I'm sure "questions about power structure" again boils down to "franchise run by some guy in California".

Why are the players from both teams dressed like they were revived from suspended animation as they near Alpha Centauri?
