NHL 2019-20

Getting excited watching the Rangers pick, Kakko, start to shine.

Canucks are doing better than I expected even after losing 4 in a row. I'm mostly worried about the team fading as the season goes on. Pettersson, Hughes, and Boeser have never completed 70 games in a season. J.T. Miller has been a perfect fit (even if the price was stupid to pay) but he's had hot starts before and tends to go through prolonged slumps. I can see the team being competitive all year if they can stay healthy. Probably slot in anywhere from the 6th to 10th seed.

Wow, Rangers get the 1st pick of the October draft. Let's go Alexis Lafreniere!

That’s probably one of the better places for him. As a fan, I’d be furious if he went to the Oilers or Leafs.

Yeah, I'm just also tired of seeing the Devils and especially Pittsburgh getting the stellar talent via draft. It's nice to finally land a 1st pick.

They've also never had the 1st pick and rarely have high picks. Granted, a lot of that is trading picks away for established players. Extremely good group of players on the team. Shame about DeAngelo, though.

WE'RE #1! WE'RE #1!

WE'RE NOT VERY GOOD BUT WE'RE #1!

Rangers can be very good as early as next year. Panarin, Zibanejad, Strome, Lafreniere, Kakko, Kreider, and Buchnevich is an extremely enviable group of offensive forwards. Granted, Lafreniere and Kakko have to take big steps and the veterans have to maintain their production. The defensive group of DeAngelo, Fox, and Trouba is fantastic. There are a couple of very good defensive prospects close to the making the NHL as well (Miller and Lundqvist). If Shesterkin or Georgiev can also have a breakout, that solves the goalie problem. The Rangers rebuild should be extremely successful as long as management and coaching doesn't screw it all up.

Agreed. After enduring so many years of Sather and his high priced free agent antics, this rebuild is heading into a great direction.

For every OT after 3, a player should be removed from the ice until, ideally, it's just the goalies playing 1-on-1.

My favourite thing of long OTs (and I was at one of the longest ever Vancouver vs Dallas 2007 game one) is exhausted most players are but the 4th liners still have energy. They rarely play over 10 minutes so they come on the ice and start skating like superstars compared to everyone else.

Well, it's official! Lafreniere it is!

Sooo excited about this team and being a Rangers fan! Was at a bar near MSG watching them win the cup back in 94 and was at the parade. Was an amazing time and hoping to see them win the cup again!
