Re: New DuckTales. Are the episodes still out of order? The show was built to follow a clear arc and apparently Disney jumbled the episode order so that the first ep that introduces the show is actually 4th and there are some serious spoilers for the finale in the middle.
Yeah, the episodes on Disney+ are not in the order listed in that Twimage - for both season 1 and season 2. Season 2 is closer to sequence than season 1 is. For whatever it's worth, I watched both seasons in Disney+ order, and didn't find it to be too disorienting.
Also, don't immediately skip the intro theme in each episode; there are a couple of episodes with "alternate" themes, and they're awesome. I'm looking at you, S2E22!
Why would you ever skip the Ducktales theme song? I don't know why they even put the button there for this show.
Sadly, I just learned that Enchanted is not available on Disney+.
BUT
I also learned that there is a way to request movies and shows to be added. It's in the help section, which appears if you click on your avatar on the web site. Under Give Feedback, one of the menu options is "Request a Film or Show"
I have done my part, requesting Enchanted, John Carter (shut up, I have a soft spot for that movie), and Raiders of the Lost Ark (Lucasfilm, but I know it's tied up in an agreement between Paramount and Netflix... still, Disney could throw enough money at that agreement if they wanted to).
Enchanted is worth owning on Blu-ray. Just saying.
Weird, I watched John Carter on Disney+ (I also have a soft spot for it). Maybe it's just not available in the US?
If you do a search, sometimes it comes up with titles that aren't available yet, but it gives a specific date for when it'll be available. Which is annoying if you want to watch it now and get your hopes up when the search finds it.
Anyway, it says John Carter shows up on US D+ on May 2.
I love John Carter (as a fan of the books). I have the Blu-ray, so I hadn't checked for it streaming. Give it a chance when it's available!
John Carter is on Netflix, if you have it.

Indeed. That's why I picked it up before all this madness.
I prefer to only get 4K releases on physical media. It's more convenient for me to just stream anything else.
It's only $7, but, the Enchanted Blu-ray doesn't include a digital copy.
My kid's been off school with a fever for a week, so we got into Disney+
Question - how worthwhile is the Mandalorian for someone who couldn't give a Sarlacc's fart for Star Wars in general?
Cos I've been enjoying The Witcher as my "thing to watch while on the bike trainer" show, and that'll be over before long and I'm starting to case the joint for the next nerd show to ride through.

I would say well worth it. There may some Easter Eggs you don't get and a one or two things that you might ask about/research.

Yeah, it's Star Wars look with a (spaghetti) Western vibe and story.
It's basically eight episodes of fan service and an adorable puppet.

This is the way.
I have spoken.
Haven’t seen the “live-action” Lion King yet. What do people think of it?

I'm also interested in this.
I watched the live-action Aladdin last week and thought they did an excellent job of (a) modernizing it, and (b) paying a generous amount of respect and attention to detail for the original animated version.

If you are aware of what "The Force" is, you have enough knowledge about Star Wars.
It is effectively a serial western in space.

Yup, and that's why I really like this show. The production is top notch, it "feels" Star Wars and the characters are fun.
I hope the next season will improve on character chemistry and a few minor gripes I had with the show;
Mostly generic-interchangeable subplots like
- "let's teach helpless farmers to fight in a single afternoon montage"; it's been done to death and I hope never to see it again.
- prison break / heist where everyone betrays the protagonist. Although the execution of Mando as a badass was pretty sweet, so I could rewatch that sequence a few more times.
The Seven Samurai episode was the worst and should have been cut or expanded upon. As a one off...no thanks.
Undeterred by Episode 9 being what it was, I started watching the Star Wars Clone Wars animated series, aided by various watch lists advising which episodes are worth it. Even just watching the stuff that's supposed to be good, there's a decent amount of stuff in this show that is fairly underwhelming to me, but the good episodes and arcs are really quite good, so I'm having fun with it overall.
My biggest problem with the series is conceptual: at least as I understood from the prequels, the Clone Wars is basically all one big feint, with Palpatine controlling both sides. Knowing that the good guys are never really going to figure it out and can never truly win, it is hard to be invested in the stakes when they are about the plot. Hell, even without knowing the the good guys are bound to lose, I am totally at a loss of what the stakes for the clone wars are supposed to be. Who are "the separatists" other than those three or four guys in robes with uncomfortable accents and a zillion droids? What exactly do they want, other than 'to separate'? If they get their way, what does it do to the Republic? I really don't get it. It's when the stakes are about the characters that things get interesting and fun.
Obi-Wan and Anakin are much more interesting here than in the prequels, Ahsoka is reasonably interesting too, and there are lots of good side characters all over the place. Having enjoyed The Mandalorian, I am really enjoying the Mandalore-related parts of this show--seeing the Dark Saber show up in the show is much more meaningful to me now. And having just watched a bunch of episodes involving the Night Witches and Dathomir gives new perspective to parts of Jedi: Fallen Order as well.
I'm just about at the end of Season 4, though the watch lists I'm relying on are much more positive on the later seasons, so seasons 5 and 6 will probably entail watching a greater portion of those seasons than I did for the earlier seasons. Soon I'll have to figure out whether I want to watch the new season of Clone Wars debuting next week as it is released, or if it's worth watching Rebels first.
I’m in a similar but different position. I just watched all 4 seasons of Rebels. I had given up on Clone Wars completely because of a season 1 Jar Jar Binks episode. Now I’m wondering if I should jump into the new clone wars, jump somewhere into the middle first, or just leave it be and be glad I had Rebels to enjoy.
I'd say watch Rebels first. Any lore that the new Clone Wars season adds is new for everyone. Like watching the prequels before the original trilogy, watching the new season before Rebels can only lead to things that were supposed to be surprises being spoiled because they want to set things up or do a reference via foreshadowing.
Tscott, here's the main watch list I've followed. Certainly one of the top recommendations they and everyone else makes is "Skip the Jar Jar episodes!" So I haven't seen him at all. I think you could easily start at either S2E5-S2E8 (a pretty fun sequence of episodes that was good at making me care about Ahsoka and had some pretty cool horror stuff) or S2E12-S2E14 (good Mandalore stuff)...most of the season 1 stuff I watched was just fine, I was getting a sense of who the characters were but didn't otherwise get much out of it other than some cool visuals of Star Wars-y stuff.
We liked the live Lion King and my kids loved it. It's not like Aladdin where they kind of "Will Smithed" it (modernized it). It's very much like the animated version and since I really love the animated version I enjoyed the live action. Others may have a differing opinion.
That is because the new one is animated too, just with higher texture counts.

Wait, what? Those weren't real animals! Oh, my reality if now shattered.
What is the point of a continue watching section if it just starts at the beginning again? Is this feature not working for everyone or just me? I’ve had to make a note of time remaining and try to fast forward to that point.
