I've tried watching Clone Wars- but it was too much prequel trilogy for my taste (Roger! Roger!). I do remember an episode where, through a series of comic misunderstandings, everyone thought Jar Jar Binks was a Jedi. I think that was the last straw for me. However, I do have a basic understanding of the Ahsoka character and I'm aware she shows up eventually in Rebels.

I'm very close to signing up for Disney+ so I can watch the final few episodes of the Mandalorian- I watched the first 4 at my sisters with family over Thankgiving weekend. I'll agree the 4th episode got a little tropey- it reminded me of the 70s Incredible Hulk tv show.

Spoiler:

Our hero arrives in a town, meets someone who needs help, helps them, but has to move on in the end.

I also want D+ to watch Star Wars Rebels- I saw the first season but then I ditched cable, and it never showed up streaming anywhere that I was aware of.

Have you watched Clone Wars? If not, do that before Rebels.

Also, don't forget the Jeff Goldblum show.

Even Stevens only has eight episodes for seasons 1& 2. Bummer.

The Imagineering Story has been excellent. Next week, it looks like it gets into the last decade, including Galaxy's Edge. Now I'm torn about watching it, since my family is going there next year, and I'm not sure if I want to see "behind the scenes' before I've seen the scenes.

I’ve been pretty good at not looking into Galaxy’s Edge too much until I get a chance to go. Probably have to skip that one.

I'm seeing 20+ for both on the Android app.

So my daughters and I are watching Gargoyles and typically my old cartoons that I loved don't hold up to my memories and expectations but Gargoyles still holds up today. We are really enjoying it.

Maybe they added more, or my connection was bad. Hmm.

Gargoyles taught me the importance of gun safety and that MacBeth was a badass.

Hey, so I know it's not exactly anything new and/or unique to Disney+, but I just finished the first season of Duck Tales (2017), and bless me bagpipes, it's so good. I was a die-hard fan of the original series from way-back-when, and thought for sure I was going to hate the remake... but I'm just absolutely adoring all of the fan-servicey pulls, nods, and overarching world crossovers. And Beakley and Webby as badasses is fantastic. Plus David Tennant can do no wrong, as far as I'm concerned.

Why don’t they have the original on there? Anyone know?

The original is there. And a bunch of shorts. And the "Treasure of the Lost Lamp" movie.

Search "Ducktales" (no space) for all of them.

Ah cool I only saw the new version. The browsing experience is still not the best...

Anyone watch Mind Games? It's a great series on how the mind works. It's kind of corny in its delivery but really interesting stuff which I'm pretty sure is legit.

The show was on from 2011 - 2016. Apparently there was a show like this back in the 80s. That is not this.

Wait, what?! How have a missed a new Duck Tales? Man, Disney+ needs to do a better job at reading my mind. Can't wait to get the girls watching this (so I can watch it too lol).

Confirm new Duck Tales is good

I think they may have buried it a little bit for some reason. It doesn't show up on any of the lists, and is like the eighth result if you search for "Duck". I'm a little concerned that they're trying to kill it for whatever reason.

I doubt they are trying to kill it. I think they just don't know what they are doing yet. Even netflix has problems letting people know what is out there to watch. I can't count the number of times I thought a show had died only to learn multiple seasons had come out without me knowing it.

The majority of advertisements appears to be largely word of mouth and also Lin Manuel Miranda's Twitter feed from like a year ago. I've talked about this show to a number of adults with children who become incredibly excited that it got a remake, much less a really good remake.

You're probably right about them just not quite having a handle on streaming yet, but I have a paranoid bent.

Mando was a fun show. I think this is what I want from Star Wars more than big movies. I want side stories about new people. Now if they could just make ot easier to find stuff to watch.

Or to continue watching stuff. The Continue Watching row is always a good half dozen down, below the first screen. It is there, but D+ seems to be generally not great about properly marking where you left off, and tends to mark the last episode you finished watching as "up next". Problem is if you click on a show from continue watching, I don't think you can actually get to the list of episodes. So if you forgot to put the thing on on your watchlist, you have to find it again to get to the episode list.

The UI is serviceable, but is way more rough than it looks initially.

The new Mickey Mouse shorts are an absolute delight. I'm into season 3 already.

Re: New DuckTales. Are the episodes still out of order? The show was built to follow a clear arc and apparently Disney jumbled the episode order so that the first ep that introduces the show is actually 4th and there are some serious spoilers for the finale in the middle.

image that hopefully lists the correct order

This. I would love Mando, or more stories like Rogue One. Just give me side stuff and explore the universe.

But why choose when you can have both?

What is the Darksaber

For those who watched the finale of The Mandalorian but are not versed in Star Wars lore, you were probably wondering what was that black saber Moff Gideon had. Is it a lightsaber? Is it Mandalorian? Both yes. So here a brief history of the Darksaber.

Very interesting! It did leave me wondering...

I lost my sheeeeeeit when I saw the Darksaber. I really hope they explain how he acquired it.

I did as well and then had to explain what I could remember about it to my wife. Right now it’s just a cool looking teaser but it’s actually pretty significant so they’ll have to explain some of the backstory explicitly so the casual fan knows the importance of it to the Mandalorians.

My wife was also surprised when I knew how to spell Moff but I had to explain it was a title/rank and not a name.
