I'm quite enjoying this season. Got a sorc up to 100 with a blizzard based build of my own design. I'm sure I could be killing quicker using an endgame build, but I can kill all the end game bosses easily (except Lilith, but that fight can DIAF) and I've cleared a tier 100 dungeon, so I think my build works pretty well
Some things I've learned from this season:
- Resistances matter now. That being said, I've had no problem keeping them maxed out with a combination of gear, gems, and paragon.
- You're probably going to want to have at least 2 items with +% total armor on them, since you'll probably need to use resistance gems in your rings and amulet rather than skulls.
- Always watch the blood harvest icon on the minimap when you're in the zone. When it starts to flash, that means someone has triggered the event - drop everything and head that way. Each event drops a TON of gear.
- Do NOT activate blood harvest event pillars if you don't have enough to activate all 3, or have an agreement with someone else to finish activating. If you do a partial activation and leave the zone, your blood lures will be lost.
Now, after all that, and having a lot of fun leveling, I'm kinda done with my sorc. I could keep gathering mats to summon duriel for a shot at an uber unique, but why? I've conquered a tier 100 and there's nothing more difficult to do (unless you count dodging Lilith's 1-shot abilities, but that's just bad boss design in my opinion). I could create another seasonal character, but I've seen everything the season has to offer, so I'll probably just play other stuff and come back when season 3 drops instead.
Thanks for the advice Serengeti!
I managed to take down Uber Lilith last night. It took more attempts than it should have (I was too stubborn to look up a strat online). That being said, Ball Lightning Sorcerer is now my favorite class. I love pet classes but just feel that Diablo 4 didn't get it right with the necro.
I am working on my chain lightning sorcerer. She just hit 56 last night, and I just beat one of the Nightmare echos in the cave near the Tree of Whispers. Was a long fight, but I never really felt threatened once I figured out the pattern.
Still enjoying it as I work on finishing off regions to get the passive bonuses.
I've thought about switching to Ball Lightning sorcerer, but I don't play enough to have the gear ready for that switch without losing a lot of power.
How much of a power drop will I see switching from a sorta-geared chain lightning build to a not-really geared ball lightning build?
I don't know what specific Fireball build you are mentioning, but I set out this season wanting to do a fire build, and 100% T'sW is the most important thing. I'm mostly following https://maxroll.gg/d4/build-guides/f... with a few points in some different places.
Just with T'sW, I probably was able to add 10 tiers of Nightmare dungeon. Without it, your stuck constantly using a basic skill to maintain mana. It works, just slow and bosses are a slog. I used it up through about Tier 45 or so before finding those pants. With those pants you can abandon the basic skill off your bar and pick up something more useful. I got lucky and got it off either a Seeker drop or the 150 blood event could have even been out of one of those chests I don't remember now, but it wasn't Duriel or any of the other bosses.
Did something change with potions? This morning there was no cool down on using health potions. Tonight I've got an 8sec delay?

I assume you were in a nightmare dungeon? There's a dungeon affix that adds a cooldown to potions.
I think I figured it out? I was in a PvP area.
Also, what's our clan name?
I thought nightmare dungeons would be harder. I just hit level 57, and I am not finding Tier 1 or 2 very difficult.
Also, chain lightning sorcerer is really good for taking on The Butcher. Kite him a bit, and then spam your attacks. Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

The level of the mobs in a nightmare dungeon is (dungeon tier) + (world tier) + 50. So, at level 57, tier 1 and 2 dungeons are actually easier than everything else.
So is there any point to holding on to the tier 1 and 2 keys I currently have?
Google says no.
You need to do a tier 3 dungeon to unlock sigil crafting. I think the easiest way to get a tier 3 sigil is to do the tier 2 dungeons that you have. Once you've unlocked crafting, you can get rid of all the low level ones that you have.

Nuke them and make higher tier keys for what level you want to run at
The new event that starts in early December uses the same ashes for its keys. I think they will take 800 or so per key. Save all the ashes you can!
I thought I read the bloodforged sigils used the same stuff to create as regular sigils. I very well could be mistaken.
Stupid trying to find side quests that aren't showing up on my map so I can finish off the last two areas before bumping up to Tier 4.
Nice of them to do that after I was probably going to hit 100 in tomorrow. I might go back to the Necro I abandoned in the 80s. But, I stopped playing it because I found it boring and I've been playing ball lightning since so it'll just feel more boring.
Anybody know how Duriel compares to the other endgame bosses? I'm able to kill all of them in second except for the Ice Beast (because he seems to have hp-gated invincibility phases). Are his attacks bullsh*t one-shots like Lilith?

Nope, you'll steamroll him like the others.

Uh, yeah, I almost kill him before he burrows the first time. And I'm only 94.
I assumed he would be on par with Lilith since the trade chat is just people looking for Duriel groups.
Of course, out of seven runs, I got four Flamescars which I have no use for. I just need the damn pants, man (yes, I see the irony of that statement).
Just got to World tier IV with my sorceress.
I’m worried I might be under-powered as I am only level 67. The Tier III capstone wasn’t that hard though, and I could do tier-18 nightmares without issue as long as I didn’t get zerged.

I am also rocking an ice sorceress that just hit 100 but struggling to finish up the season. Next to last chapter requires one of two options to move to the last stage but one of the options is PVP which I don’t have access to (don’t pay for Gold) or beat the Ice Beast which seems to be immune to most of my cold attacks. I loved playing her up until the end but not sure if I want to grind away just finish up the season and although I wanted to finish up one season to the end I may just wait until the next season. Gonna take a break and try again next week but frustrated that I hit a wall this late in the game.
