Despite my complaints though, I still log in for more and I'm enjoying hunting down new abilities. I think it's like previous Diablo games where it's a solid foundation that will likely be improved upon a lot with time.

Yeah it definitely feels like they ran out of time for fleshing out progression and content after 50. I'm sure we'll see a lot of improvement over time for these. I'm betting we will see something highly random similar to how rifts were random in D3 for content. I think for items they will extend the power levels so there's more to upgrade between 60 and 100 and they'll scale up enemies to compensate at those levels.

I'm not sure how they'll tackle progression but I think there will be additions there too.

Don't think it's that they ran out of content, it's just that it's all season based now. They said that when the game launched they had Season 1 and 2 done and working on 3... The rest is them testing and balancing once it gets into our hands

So they should have launched with season 1?
That's what I'm hearing.

They essentially have... the schedule or intent hasn't been a secret

There's serious issues with this patch though... I had just dinged 72 and did a level 88 NM dungeon and this was all the xp i got

I did a little test run of my early leveling plan on a fresh character only spending five renown skill points (since we won't start with the full 10). Completed the Tour Dulra stronghold and the druid quest in just under an hour and a half. I was only 17 and a half when I expected to be closer to 20 so the xp changes are definitely noticeable.

I'm basically just doing a big loop around Fractured Peaks hitting as many world events as I can. I was 12 after that. Did one dungeon in Scosglen for the Edgemaster's aspect and then went to the stronghold at 14 (doing a couple more world events along the way).

Afterward, I adjusted my planned path the hit all of the waypoints in Fractured Peaks and a couple of dungeons. That way I should have the second renown skill point for both Fractured Peaks and Scosglen by the time I finish the druid quest.

At that point, I plan on doing the strongholds (leaving Onyx Watchtower and Kor Dragan incomplete so that I can farm them) and targeting farming dungeons for aspects. Hopefully, I won't need to farm Kor Dragan too much to get to the upper 40's so I can do the capstone.

I may try to farm the PvP area for awhile while it's relatively safe with no super high level players.

I'm not trying to race to 100 as soon as possible (my highest eternal character is still only 75) but I want to get to WT3 as soon as possible. I don't plan on doing anything with the season mechanic until WT3 either.

The Map and lilith statues being shared not across your account is nice. Make sure you log in your characters who have these completed or found now that 1.10 is live so you.

Not having to find the statues again for zone renown is a good change.

I will have to check again about the XP. I did 3 NM dungs key lvl ranging 33-34 lvl yesterday and the xp seemed the same. I usually get close to 1/4 lvl each time and I did not notice a huge difference. I was more focused on the damage though.

That's far more than I'm getting at level 98. It's a huge drop from pre-patch XP for me. I estimate it's gonna take me 16-20 NMs to get from 98 to 99.

Also, upgrade your potion!

If you are killing mobs around the same level as you (or lower, I think), you won't notice a change from before. The change was to bonus xp for higher level mobs. Before, you got +25% for anything 3+ levels higher than you. Now, you only get +1.5% per level up to a cap of +15% at 10 levels higher.

They were trying to nerf power leveling and ruined leveling for normal people at the same time.

Well that explains my experience. I'm running NMs with mobs 5-6 levels above me, so my XP bonus would have gone from 25 to 7.5. Feels completely unnecessary.

There's supposed to be a season xp buff when it starts and it needs to be very significant or it's going to be a very painful event...

I’m either having a string of bad luck or abhorrent crystals drop rate got nerfed.

Plan too! I jumped 2 levels before i logged off last and only jumped on now to test things and update my map...

The vuln, crit nerf was expected and the disobedience nerf is noticable but not completely awful... I ran the highest level NM dungeon i had and made it through to the end but i did have to leave behind 2 elites that were taking too long to kill and before i think i would've cleared them. I did die once but that was me not paying attention. The fact that i could survive and complete it though makes me think the nerfs are too bad...

supposedly it's a bug, but honestly at this point who knows... besides as it stands now i don't see helltides as a valid activity. Even if they boosted the crystal drops. The only thing they're useful for now is for farming aspects

I definitely feel more squishy than pre-patch. I've had to drop about 5 NM tiers to adjust. Not sure defense needed to be nerfed at all.

My damage output actually seems to have gone up though, probably because I have a fair bit of + Physical Dmg, + Dmg with Dual-Wield, + Cutthroat Dmg, and + Core Skill Dmg, which were all buffed.

So how bad are these nerfs for a casual player who is still leveling through the story?

I haven't noticed much difference. I have a chain lightning sorcerer, just finishing up the last part of the story. I'll have to log on with my lower level characters to see how they're doing.

Chain Lightning Sorcerer is definitely not meta. They supposedly have weak high level damage. But it's by far my favorite build of the half dozen or so I tried.

Most likely not much unless they nerfed the xp gain from story... If they did then the end point level from where you finished the story to level 50 will be a pain

Its a bug to be fixed in a hot fix.

So getting all the Lilith shrines in the starting area, then about 3/4 in another pushed my power level up passively enough to make it so I beat Lilith (WT 1) my first attempt after failing for about 90 minutes previously.

Now deciding whether to stay at WT1 to finish off all the shrines or move up to WT 2 and get the shrines plus other stuff.

I logged in yesterday and found the game actually more enjoyable (L70 Rogue, my own build not from any online guide). I was killing things faster and I was taking more damage and it overall felt more engaging than before. I ran a few nightmare dungeons (L68-72), noticed more legendary drops (for whatever that's worth) and even a unique.

I'd say keep playing and don't worry about it. If you're having fun, you have your answer. If you're not having fun, move on to something else for a while.

End of the day yea it's a matter of fun for the person, but a level 70's experience is vastly different from someone's still doing the story quests.

I have 3 regions, about to be four, complete, but the Lilith stuff... I've only got one region done and the rest are just a scattering. Will this handicap me? Should I just drop to T1 and ride around to get them *all* before I start a Seasonal? Or just add to it as I go along in the Season?

Will the Season altar collecting count for the main game?

Very glad to see some attention on the aggressive level scaling. It looks a little bit more sensible now, with enemies tailing behind you for a little bit before catching up at the next threshold. I still hate the absurd nonsense of scaling enemies, but at least now you don't get weaker immediately after leveling up without equipping new gear, ugh.

Felt a little bit better playing last night around 45-47.

Altars and map progress are supposed to be account-wide so it should carry over regardless of when they’re completed. If you are planning on playing a seasonal character I would just focus on getting the skill points from the maps, the Altars can wait. You get a pretty nice buff to all stats from them (among other things), but it’s not anything that will make a huge difference in the long run unless you want to squeeze every ounce of potential out of a build.

I want to know a little more about how the level scaling works. From the patch notes it sounded like everything would just lag behind you by 5 levels, but mousing over regions on the map shows a wider range than that. So long as things live long enough for my combos to matter, I'm good. I'd hate to feel like I should respec to the fastest, widest AOE because most everything dies instantly.

Also it looks like the Helltide cinder drop rates are fixed. It doesn't feel as steady as it used to, but I was getting more 3-5 cinder drops so it balances out.

Looking through the higher levels of the season journey, I noticed that there are a few challenges involving PvP. Kill another player, purify 5,000 seeds, and purify 10,000 seeds. If anybody intends to finish the season journey and wants to get some easy ones out of the way, the PvP areas are pretty free right now. I ran around there for a couple hours while in the 20s and never saw another person. They are pretty decent for leveling too. Just run from event to event and purify seeds when you feel like it. The abomination takes forever to kill at low levels so you may want to ignore him entirely.

You don't need to do all of the challenges for the season journey but those two should be pretty easy to get in the next day or so before no-lifers max out and start just trying to kill everybody in those zones.

Assuming you can kill members of your own party, I'm not above grouping and trading kills for the 'kill another player' challenge.

So... they specifically recommended before the season started that you reveal the map and grab all the Lilith shrines... but none of that applies to the season? I started a new Seasonal character and he has the default potion count, max obols, no free abilities from Renown, nothing in storage, might as well be a new account.

I do have my transmog looks and the main waypoints for each region but that's it.

I spent half a day revealing every corner of the stupid map

Did you go in and claim all the renown rewards? I had to go in and claim the ones I unlocked even though I had the renown already.

Edit: Also they said you have to login with your character that has found the statues before they are available to the seasonal character. Make sure you did that too.

That did the trick! Weird requirement
