NFL 2019: Week 4

Baltimore's garbage time score gives us a Scorigami!

Imagine having the Chiefs down by 3, having three timeouts of your own, and only rushing 3 all drive to allow the Chiefs to drive AND eat up all the clock.

Detroit should have gone aggressive pressure to either make a stop, or allow a score with enough time left for Stafford to respond.

As it is now, they're on the verge of choking it away.

EDIT: And there it is. Now Stafford will get about 10 seconds and 1 timeout.

Trubisky is going to the locker room.

Chiefs!

Oh the takes about the Rams that'll be coming this week...

Should have known when I saw the stat about how many consecutive passes Lamar had thrown without an INT that today would be the day.

Does Cleveland not suck?
Was the off season hype real?
But does that mean the Titans are good?

Holy crap, OBJ almost gets choked out on the field while a ref watches and does nothing:

Phil Simms says at halftime that Flacco had a "flawless" first half.

Flacco's last pass attempt was a badly sailed throw that resulted in an INT and Jacksonville's second score.

Simms is still so bad at this. At least it's only in the studio at halftime and not all game long.

Which appears to have only improved the team.

Panthers! The D came up big - six sacks, two turnovers.

Meanwhile, Kyle Allen seems to have inherited Daunte Culpepper's teeny tiny hands. Allen had three damn fumbles Sunday. Good thing Bill O'Brien was calling plays for the Texans - that was worth about 14 points for Carolina.

Jags hadn't had a 100 yard rusher since 2017

Leonard Fournette is over 200 yards today

Tampa Bay desperate to lose this game!!

JAGS

Minshew Magic pulls out the win in a game where the Jag offensive line had a holding flag contest between the 5 of them

A 55-40 game involving Tampa Bay in which 5 turnovers happen, and Jameis is only responsible for 1 of the turnovers

68 pass attempts for Goff. 5 carries for Gurley.

Ugh, that last drive of the Bills gave me so much hope. Why must my dreams always be crushed?

Angle on this play sucks, but still a great one for Minshew.

Prime Time Teddy!

Minshew had a number of amazing escape plays in this game. He's starting to change my perception of what kind of QB he is.

He's 225lbs at 6-0 7/8. That's heavier than Daniel Jones is at 6-5, and way more than any of the other NFL QBs below 6-1. He's thick and hard to bring down.

He's a lot lighter in jorts.

WTF? You can tackle QBs while sliding now? Bullsh*t

That’s ridiculous.

I’m happy that the Giants won another game with Jones but bummer they may have lost their rookie LB Connelly, for the season with an ACL.

More importantly, Browns are in first place in the division!!!

Hey Legion, who we got next week?

What a weird week.

Perhaps worst of all I had to root for the Cowboys to beat the Saints and the 'Boys crapped the bed. Grrr.

Meanwhile, tonight's MNF pits a pair of 0-3 teams with two bad QBs, which means it might make for an entertaining as hell game.

Raiders Burfict should be thrown out of the league for that hit yesterday and Gruden defends him.

An appointment to a 2-3 record.

NFL suspended Vontaze Burfict for the rest of the year.

Wow

The Rams are one of the worst pass blocking teams in the league, but one of the best run blocking teams.

What did they do yesterday? Throw it 300 million times and run the ball 11 times.

Yes, the Bucs are good at run defense, and the Rams were playing catchup for almost the entire game, but perhaps there was a flaw in the overall gameplan? Just maybe.

Yeah, that's letting a game really get away from you. Except maybe the game doesn't get away from you if your QB doesn't throw 3 INTs.

Like, this sequence, down 31-20 late in the 3rd quarter:

They get a big chunk play after the change of possession, but then they're firmly in panic mode. Bro, it's not even the 4th quarter yet. You calm down and make this a TD drive and you turn this into a 4 point game. Hell, even grind out some yards for a field goal, and you put the game back within a touchdown.

Granted, this INT doesn't do much that the 4th down change of possession wasn't going to, but this right here is where there's opportunity to slow down and bring balance back into the offensive attack, and the team is stomping on the gas pedal and spinning themselves out instead.

Wow

Hell yes, but that's not far enough. That guy absolutely needs to be banned for life from the NFL.
