Babylon 5 reboot coming to the CW. JMS is on board to write, but again, the CW.

Sadly, a good number of the original cast have died

Mira Furlan, Andreas Katsulas, Jerry Doyle, Richard Biggs, Stephen Furst, Jeff Conaway and Michael O’Hare among the main cast members.

I do think this show is worthy of a reboot - especially if they get that final season right and not condense 2 seasons into 1 as MJS had to do when it was originally cancelled, but some much of the show was about the interactions of it characters - Especially Katsulas’s G’Kar and Peter Jurasik’s Londo.

Problem is it’s really going to be a straight remake isn’t it? It’s not some camp Star Wars wannabe that can be completely retooled as a gritty allegory to 9/11 ah la Battlestar Galactica. I’m not sure that’s really going to work.

It could be an attempt to do the (rumored) story JMS had to discard because of O'Hare's departure after season 1.

All Rise is coming back.

Leverage: Redemption's second half is up. Odd to come back with a Christmas episode, but who doesn't want to see beloved actor Levar Burton in in this show?

Sweet!

Completed season two of Evil. I'm not sure I liked the last 20 seconds but I know many will. There was one very good performance that the show was building toward. I still don't know what the deal is with the mom. I don't know if she is some kind of satan worshipper or what. Her actions aren't making sense to me.

Minor spoiler on demons

Spoiler:

We get a new demon which I was a little surprised by. I would have thought we would see all the other demons. And I guess they will continue the dream like quality of the demons. This reminds me of American Gods where all the odd stuff was like being in a dream.

The odd thing about this show is they kind of drop storylines out of nowhere. Like the twin sister or imaginary sister thing never got resolved. Or maybe they thought the scene with lady playing the bad seed was enough. They just have to many things up in the air.

All in all a good season. Highlight being the murder and pop up book.

Did we never make a new TV season thread?

Anyway... Timothy Olyphant back for Justified Limited Series

FX... announced on Friday that Olyphant will reprise his role of U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens for Justified: City Primeval, a limited series inspired by the late Elmore Leonard’s crime novel City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit.

...

Justified: City Primeval finds Raylan still living in Miami, to which he relocated in the series finale. A walking anachronism balancing his life as a U.S. Marshal and part-time father of his 14-year-old daughter with Winona, “his hair is grayer, his hat is dirtier, and the road in front of him is suddenly a lot shorter than the road behind,” the synopsis tells us.

What? It's only March.

Anyway, the oddball procedural, So Help Me Todd. It's like Psyche, if the father was instead his mother, but not a detective, and the best friend / straight man was sort of also replaced by his mother. It's decently enjoyable, while not really the most original or even challenging as far as the mysteries go, but then again, it's 2AM and I'm watching it while I clean up.
