Favorite time killer game?

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. Old school roguelike means I can save anywhere when I am invariably late for whatever I was killing time to get to.

March of the Living. It's basically FTL meets crossing the US during a zombie apocalypse. It's charming, challenging, fast gameplay, and a good session can be played in a short amount of time. I'm playing it now on the side when I'm not immersed in AC: Origins and it's great

This sounds great. Thanks!

When i'm in work, mostly i go for what's on the mobile. At the moment, i'm playing Dr Mario World. It passes a few minutes whilst i wait for the server to think about doing something.

Depending on what kind of system you have, the original Master of Orion is a great beer-and-pretzels space game. It's still very playable, and I fire it up semi-regularly.

The Mac version has a much better interface, but getting Mac emulation set up can be a little involved. The DOS version runs through DOSBox just fine (it's one of the games they tested most thoroughly), but because it's old and low-res (either 320x200 or 640x400), the interface is a bit janky. There just wasn't a lot of room on the screen, and everything is just a bit more painful than it should be to work with.

Despite that, that's the version I usually play, because Mac emulators tend to be iffy. Most of them were written a long time ago and aren't getting a lot of maintenance. If you can get a Mac emulator running well, that version is definitely better... all the fun, less interface pain.

I'd probably try the DOS version first, see if you like it, and then think about whether you like it enough to invest a bunch of time into improving the interface. If so, then get the Mac version running.
