Wow!
Keep going. You are on such a roll
When it rains, it pours indeed.

After a ridiculous amount of interruptions, page 4 is finished!

I am surprised by how much I was able to accomplish this weekend, fang! Now I only have one page left. Maybe I can finish it tomorrow?

Bonus: Work-in-progress picture of Panel 1:

Got distracted by The Gray Man on Netflix, but here's page 5, ready to be inked!

And Page 5 is done!

I'll see if I can letter all the pages tomorrow so that you friends can read the story. So far, this one and The Foxhunt are my favorites.

The actual Grover is meaner than this to Duncan, but for the most part they get along.

In any case, this was the seventh story, so I have three more to go. Unfortunately, school starts in two weeks and next week will be full of meetings to prepare for that joyous occasion, so my productivity is going to take a hit. Still, I will continue to post weekly updates and will try to finish the eighth story by the end of August. Let's see what happens!

Duncan and Grover in real life:

I wish we had a love button in addition to the like button. <3

Totally half squirrel!

Thanks! If you want more real life Duncan and Grover, check out the Post a Picture of Your Pet thread. You can also see their siblings there.

Right?

Here's the thumbnail for the first page of Get You Back, which I think will be 4 pages long:

I want to color this one on my tablet, but I am going to do the pages as I finish them instead of waiting for all of them to be drawn. Or that's the plan...

Toss a coin to your Witcher!

I'm struggling right now with workflow ideas for character creation and posing.
-1) Metahuman is cool but I don't know how to export it out to something like blender for posing. And they don't have a lot of clothing option. They do however, have the best realistic face creator which won't work for most of my ideas but could work in the "go realistic route then use a watercolor or stylized filter".
-2)Go the all blender with plugins route. Pros are that out of the box, the latest version of blender has phenomenal anime hair creation, and there are reasonable priced plugins for just about everything I need (rigging, cloth sim). The cons are blender should be unbelievable but every time I try to use it, its quirks prevent me from latching on. Plus, the plugins may have the feature set but "do they work well and work well with each other" are big ifs.
-3)Design doll is so simple to use for posing, including advanced posing of multiple figures. But, it is just mannequins. There are options to replace mannequin pieces with custom ones, which could be serviceable on the most base level and then I would do touch up by hand. But it does not have cloth sim nor face rigging. So I would have to draw that by hand or do it in another program and layer it on top or replace the mannequin head
-4)f*ck Heroforge and all the other like sites for not letting us buy rigged versions of what we create with the tool. Nor does it seem that we can ever own what we create even if we buy it. If they sold a license akin to character creator 4 or even daz3d or poser, it would be unbelievably valuable for my workflow. Posing is simple enough, but it comes stock with enough items that the configurations are endless. (actually I like Eldritch Foundry better because it has better race options)
-5)Daz3d or poser. Both are awkward for posing and Daz3d's performance is lethargic. Poser isn't free but Daz is. Which is thankful because while I could find so many inspiring outfits, it would cost me hundreds of $$$ to do it. And then there is dealing with the stock figure and quirky cloth sim. It is an awkward process, but I could model custom clothes to save the $$$.
-6)Marvelous designer is the end all be all of CG fashion design. But hoo boy is it expensive. It has top notch cloth sim and dragging tools to correct poke through or awkward folds. It has a stock figure that you can pose with no facial rigging or you can import a custom figure with poses. The other cons are that it is a learning curve and blender has a handful of plugins designed to do what Marvelous does. Plus, if I have to create and rig a base model with facial rigging, why would I pay $$$ for better cloth sim? I could, at the least, just redraw the problem spots.

Took way too long to find the time to finish this one, but here's Fighting Fantasy book 11 - Talisman of Death.

I have been slammed with work this week getting ready for the opening of school and I still have lots to do, so I have accepted there is little to no chance I'll start on the page this weekend. However, I managed to do a little sketch of the two main characters of Get You Back during a meeting yesterday:

Unrelated to the story, I did a second drawing during the same long session:

Hopefully, I can draw page 1 next week!

What do you know? I did find some time to work on page 1 of Get You Back:

When I'll be able to continue is anyone's guess.

I'm alive, I'm alive... hold on... here's what I've been working on today:

More of the same really. I need to maintain more momentum.

Lots of dogs in the last page of posts! (I'm tired and incapable of insightful commentary.)

FWIW Mario, the Mouse and the Motorcycle was one of my favorite books as a kid. The Penguin and the Motorcycle has lots of potential!

I really like the outfit Rav. It is a great example of how to make something form fitting but not a wet suit. Great use of shapes, textures and cutouts.

Credit where credit is due, the outfit is heavily based on the character art for a character from Tactics Ogre (specifically the PSP version), Ravness, who I'd randomly chosen as a reference for inspiration.

Very cool, Ravanon! And good to see you're still alive!

It does sound like it would be a fun story! He could be like The A-Team, riding into town and solving a problem, haha.

An FFT inspired series would be cool. You could finally give them noses!

I've actually been working on a bunch of stuff! ...None of which I can actually post! woops!

So here's my work in progress attempts to try a painterly style again. It is a very slow and stressful process
(This is my Aasimar PC for my Sunday game)

It may be more work, but those eyes look a lot more natural and expressive than your other style. Really well done.

I love the cracked/scarred skin. It is a really cool effect!

Very nice, pyxistyx! I'm glad to see someone is being productive!

Me, not so much. I didn't like the way the first page of Get You Back was shaping up, so I decided to redraw the whole thing:

IMAGE(https://i.imgur.com/XUfRBO0.jpg)

But I disliked it perhaps even more than what I originally had, so I took a third crack at it:

IMAGE(https://i.imgur.com/s5Fo8Vp.jpg)

Maybe I like this one the best so far, but I'm not sure. I just haven't had a lot of time to think about the page, let alone sitting and drawing it, and I was getting more and more frustrated with each iteration, so I thought maybe I could go back to The Foxhunt and start coloring it:

IMAGE(https://i.imgur.com/K6WbERu.png)

Buuuuut I'm not crazy about the way it's turning out, but I don't know if it's because it's bad or because I'm just not in the right frame of mind to work on it. Maybe I should take a little break from producing weekly, but I'm afraid a week or two will turn into a month or two very fast, so I don't know what to do. Any advice, friends?

EDIT: I answered my own question. Check out my next post for more details.
