Alright, I've drawn the Gonzo rules for this year

TIER I
Out of Vacation Days - All players must be cut during their bye week. They cannot be claimed via waivers until the following week. (manual enforcement)

Would a $200 WW budget make things more interesting?

Seconded

Perhaps we should also shorten the benches since people are going to be added and dropped constantly anyways. Make for more chaos.

EDIT: also, looking at the settings now in the league, I think Team Defense negative points for points against should be removed, and Special Teams +1 for fumbles forced and +1 fumbles recovered removed, and -1 for fumble in MISC section removed right?

OMG Gonzo is 2qb this year, with two favorable rules? Good luck all!

$200ww doesn't change anything for me, you just bid twice as much.

I came on because it's the taunting part of the season. Sleeper mascots cost 20 cookies for a random mascot, and I got 40 cookies for creating a league to test and never doing anything with it. Now I have a poop mascot :/

Nubs: I've never gotten anywhere trading, but happy to try. My team was so bad when I got it, that only ukick was interested in players I was willing to trade. Everyone else only wanted the ones I don't. Also, the last person tried to trade me a free agent Dez Bryant straight up for juju as fair, so it's hard to find a player where you agree on valuation. Finally, you can't trade future draft picks, so I lost out on a pick once I finally agreed on a trade.

Well the benches actually did get shorter by 1, because there are now 11 starters instead of 10, and I did not extend the roster limit to compensate.

Yes, I'll fix them.

It doesn't change the economy any, I think it just gives you smaller denominations to work with, essentially allowing you to bid half-dollars from a $100 budget. With a lot of player turnover, having smaller increments to work with for lots of small bids probably makes sense. I'll approve this change as well.

EDIT: Also added ukick as co-commish.

This Gonzo draft is going to be--something.

Can we get links to the sleeper leagues to heckle like we did in fleaflicker, or are they private?

I enjoyed watching the Gonzo carnage last year.

Curses missed the Gonzo draft as Wednesday was my house move day!
No to see if my team has any viability...

Well, you absolutely have the RB situation locked up. Feel free to hit me up with a trade offer once you decide which RBs you want to unload.

Just be glad the computer didn't do what we were afraid it was going to do and draft Andrew Luck.

Well, if ever there was a year to miss a draft, the Gonzo year in which every player has to get cut would be the year. Everyone's rosters are going to turn over.

Autodrafter sure could not make sense of Gonzo rules. "Why are you guys leaving all of these high value RBs on the board?"

Ruh-roh...

I think a new rule should be added to Gonzo:

If you drafted AB, you must keep him the entire year.

We could absolutely have a more generalized rule about being unable to cut suspended players.

Give that rule a name (Mr. Big Chest?) and I think you have a new category 3 rule for 2020. It'll have a short shelf life though.

Probably deserves breaking up into PED and not-PED flavors. Or maybe even PED, Antonio Brown, and Ray Rice flavors.

I'd like to file a formal complaint with the commissioner of the Gonzo league about the nickname for one team is using for Pat Mahomes.

You're just lucky I didn't take him at 2.7 in Pro, one spot in front of you.

You have no idea how tempted I was.

You're the one whose lucky, bucko!

Since we don't have a week 1 thread, I just want to say that I stand by my Dalvin Cook statements. He's a top tier talent on a team that wants to run the ball. Kirk Cousins is a phenomenal play action passer so it all works.

GB is nada but potential. Cook is the now.

Until he gets hurt. Natch.

Strangely enough, this year was the year to draft Vinateri in Gonzo.

Vedvik FTW

Is there a link to the Gonzo league, or does sleeper make everything private?

I'm not seeing a way to share the link to people not in the league to view.

In other news, I'm assuming Grump's script from fleaflicker won't work anymore for the weekly update threads. Any thoughts on what to do?

Also, apparently sleeper doesn't even have a setting where the league can vote on trades. The current setting has it as a 1 day review period that a commish would have to cancel the trade, or else it goes through. Perhaps we should up that to 2 days and create a poll on accepting or declining trades?

I don't have a problem with the current trade, assuming we are allowing picks to be traded, but for future ones it would be good to set up some parameters.

Cook still running like a maniac, but I'm sure doc thought it was nice to see the Aaron Jones of the past resurface. The Pack's offense might still be finding its footing, but it was nice to see Jones run it with authority again.

Since not everyone seems to be checking the sleeper chat in Dynasty, thought I'd necro the thread here. Setting up the draft order, selecting our keepers, and discussing trade rules seem to be the things needing done so we can open it up and get rolling this year. My thoughts in the pm thread on trading were:

I'd like draft pick trades to be enabled, but do think we should set some limits so someone doesn't trade all their picks and then bail on us. Maybe we say something like if you trade your first round pick, you have to have at least 1 pick in all the rest of the rounds still. For picks after the first round, maybe we say you can trade up to 2 of those as long as you still have your first rounder. These suggestions are for the entire offseason, not just within a single trade.

Any more discussion from folks on anything so Legion can set up the league?

Edit: I think we heard from everyone that they will be back for this season except for Bonney. Haven't heard from him. Hopefully he sees this thread.

The uncertainty of the NFL season just has my interest in fantasy so deflated.

Though I still expect a season, this country's build up to a second COVID spike has me thinking more and more that it's going to be a strike-like season with a delayed start.

I actually had put on my personal calendar to start fantasy signups early this year, so we could explore options like slow drafting (asynchronous drafting that take place over days, making it so people don't have to be at their computer at a very specific time to participate). But the uncertainty just makes things so.... blah.

ukick's been wondering why you haven't opened Dynasty up yet considering we all (or "all") agreed to activate the league in April.

I like the idea of a slow draft for dynasty. We could even do it earlier than normal. Also, the possibility of no NFL or delayed season seems all the more reason to open up the league so we can do trades and what not. I imagine we'd still have the rookie draft since the players are already on teams even if the NFL doesn't play.

Still nothing going on, eh?

GWJFFL is still a thing?
