GWJFFL 2019: Registration

PMs sent to everyone with all the links. I'd also like to suggest a weeknight time as this weekend is a holiday and I know I'll be out of town as I imagine so will others...

Why not have times during the day on Sat-Sun-Mon? Esp for Dynasty since it's such a short draft.

Also, thanks!

You can give me access to the dynasty league as a commish in the options if you want and I'll set it up with settings and rosters like I did with the one i pm'd you a while back.

You're commish'd.

For the other leagues, registration ends on Thursday which is the day I come back, so if I can't manage anything before then, I will get them all up on Friday.

Sorry guys, I messed up the times on the when is good. Never set one up before and when it asked what times I suggested i thought it would just highlight them, but instead, that is all it showed. I've added times from 6pm to 11pm Eastern and all day Saturday/Sunday/Monday if the 4 of you who have already completed it can go back in and edit their previous, or if you dont have the edit link, just create a new one and I'll figure it out.

My B.

Also, what do people think of my waivers note a while back? Can we move it to end of day Tuesday instead of Wednesday so we aren't screwed for Thursday games?

Legion, I may be wrong seeing as how we haven't used Sleeper before, but it appears to me in the settings of how I understand the "supplemental draft" is how we will have to do the Dynasty one, but the settings for that draft only let you have up to 10 rounds. So I'm guessing this means people can only add 10 players in this first Dynasty draft, which would mean you either make sure to keep at least 18 players. Is that how you understand it too?

You're commish now and no one complained so do it.

I think it's a good idea.

I think so, except I'm not sure if it's strictly necessary for teams to have 18 players on their roster pre-draft. I would assume that if they had fewer, then after the 10 round supplemental, they would simply have open roster spots which could be filled via free agency.

I don't have a strong opinion on waiver processing day, just that waivers are blind bid in nature. If there aren't any real objections to Tuesday waivers, I won't object either.

Just a heads up that drafting after 10 pm ET is killer for me. I drafted last year at 1030 pm and it was tough. My brain was barely working by the end. Lol

Thanks for getting this moved along ukick! I'm wondering whether it's easier to draft in fleaflicker and then move to sleeper, considering how much of a hassle it is to get everything moved over, as well as the rest of us not wanting to select keepers until as late as possible. PS- did cake select keepers?

Similarly, 6am draft choices seem like they're not worth putting in the options XD

Re: Waivers
I didn't look, but fleaflicker was wed morning. Staying up until 2am to ninja free agents was a slog sometimes haha

So, drafting 10th in Dynasty, drafting 10th in all 3 work leagues...

This can only mean one thing, it's Eli Manning time!

You think he can win with the Colts?

Interesting thought on doing the dynasty draft in fleaflicker before moving the players over. That might make more sense as we dont really know how the supplemental draft will do things in sleeper. Id be fine with that. Others?

I sent nubs his list of players and he let me know which he is keeping so if we end up moving players over and drafting on sleeper, I know who to move. If we draft on fleaflicker, legion will need to add him as the owner of that team.

The waiver time on sleeper, as I have read somewhere on their faq, is exactly 12:05am pst each week.

If that's easiest FOR YOU then lets do that.

In fact, I think it's probably easier for me too since I know where to go to rank folks pre-draft and I can't figure out where to do that in Sleeper via website. Need to mess around with the app though.

Not sure it would be easier, in fact, it would probably take a little more time than the other way, haha. Players have to be manually placed on teams in a faux draft, so having to move more players over would just increase the time it takes. Other downside would be that players wouldn't be available right after the draft to pick up since I'd have to move them over to sleeper first.

Upside would be that the draft would take place on a familiar interface and we don't need to worry about what happens with the 10 round limit for the "supplemental" draft.

Look at this mess Legion created then left for you to pick up.

Reminder to the following to update keepers on fleaflicker.

Keep 18?

And nice that I have both Andrew Luck and Lamar Miller in my starting lineup.

It’s going to be a great year indeed....

You can keep up to 22. 18 was just mentioned because of a weird thing with first year dynasty drafts on sleeper. After moving players over, it just lets you have a 10 round draft. With out player size being 28, that would mean you need at least 18 keepers to be able to fill out your team in the draft. Legion is likely right that if you have more than 10 open spots, you'll need to fill out your team on the waiver wire after the draft.

Heads up on draft times. So far, with 9/12 responses, the best time for dynasty is looking like 10pm Eastern Tuesday the 3rd. With 8/12 responses, the best time for pro/tebow is 10pm Eastern this Friday the 30th.

Decisions will be finalized Wednesday, whether the last few respond or not by then, but with these 2 times for each league so far it looks like it will likely be those.

EDIT: We also have 4 more people that will need to join the sleeper pro league in the next couple of days.

Come on ukick, you're getting kittle, possibly the top dynasty TE, for a free agent from an owner who might not even know he got cut from the pack? I hate to be the veto, but unless docjoe comes on and tells me he knows he's getting a free agent it doesn't sound right.

Emmes we’re talking Aaron Jones, not Josh Jones. Aaron is projected to have a big year in the new run heavy offense. And my starting RB is headed to IR.

Aaron Jones may have a good year, but this is completely unbalanced. Kittle warrants a bit more than Aaron Jones in Dynasty. ukick has Dalvin Cook. That would seem more fair. Or ukick can throw in a draft pick.

Trading away one of the few stud TEs in the league because you're top RB is headed to IR (btw, who is your top RB headed to IR? Kerryon Johnson? - oh, I see, you cut Kenyan Drake) and you want to plug the hole this season is the sort of move you make in redraft, not dynasty. Just saying.

I vetoed it. Go back to the drawing board, folks. ukick isn't feeling nearly enough pain for this trade.

Edit: doj, after looking at your roster don't you think you're overreacting to losing Drake? With Carson and Kerryon Johnson on your roster you're sitting okay in terms of RB. If you didn't have either I see why losing Drake would be an issue, but Johnson is setup for a nice workload. Jones feels like he's on the same tier as Johnson, really. Dalvin Cook, as I mentioned above, is even better though he's got injury issues and a more mixed backfield. So, yeah, I see what you're getting at with Aaron Jones, who I like, but for George Kittle in a Dynasty league? Ouch. Kittle is practically irreplaceable in fantasy unless Gronk un-retires.

1) The RB he is referring to is Lamar Miller, not Kenyan Drake. He already cut him so he's not shown on his team atm.

2) They aren't far apart in value. The site I normally use to gauge things is https://fantasyfootballcalculator.co.... They are only 5 spots apart on those rankings (SI.com also has them 5 spots apart, CBS has them 3 spots apart). Factoring in him having 2 good TEs, a RB need, and the likelyhood that Jones will be much improved this year, this isn't vetoable trade IMO...

3) I reached out regarding interest in his TEs since he had 2 good ones. This trade was then proposed to me. I didn't manipulate anything.

4) If it'll make people feel better, I'll throw in a 3rd rounder in the draft or something to bridge that small gap in ranks.

Fwiw, neither Lamar Miller nor Kenyan Drake warrants moving George Kittle.

My bad, I had Josh Jones (former GB free agent) confused with Aaron Jones.

I'm fine with Aaron Jones, nothing has changed with him in the past week.

I do think it's an unbalanced trade, but all I can do is give docjoe a better offer and hope he cancels.

Also holy crap, luck, miller, and aj green? wow docjoe, you know how to pick this preseason.

i'd rather have kerryon johnson than pre-IR lamar miller anyway, but still.

Emmes wrote:

Gonna have a great draft pick next year!

(Watch him win it all.)

I prefer Aaron Jones over Dalvin Cook, both have injury issues but Aaron Jones led the league in rushing average under a horribly unbalanced offensive game plan under McCarthy and I think he is going to have a monster year in Lafleurs new offense. I have Eric Engram at TE who is not Kittle but I’m desperate at RB. Well QB too. But I’m ok with canceling the trade. If anyone wants to make me an offer for one of my TEs for a RB or QB I’m open!

I think it's unbalanced because RB shelf lives are so short, and if you just lost luck, lamar miller, and half of aj green, maybe RB isn't the best building block. I wish I could unveto though, serves me right for reading about 2017 GB picks named Jones getting cut too fast.
