My cat is hiding in the wall and I'm late for Portland!!!

So I've been cleaning house. Its empty cept for a few things that I'm holding onto while I waited for one cat to emerge from a hole in the goddamned wall. It was in the f*cking wall hiding behind something where I couldn't reach it. The cat finally emerged so I woke up from my nap and noticed she was out. I rushed to plug the hole with a blanket, and threw the first cat in a room where she couldn't hide, only to have a second cat PRY THE f*ckING GODDAMNED BLANKET LOOSE FROM THE MOTHERf*ckING HOLE and go hide in the same whoref*cking hole!!!

I now missed my first day of airbnb. I won't be in Portland today because its 15 hours to get there driving nonstop.

I know that if I cant get him out by tomorrow morning I gotta leave him and let animal control deal with it. I can't miss my hud appt.

f*ck.

Yikes! That's not good.

Tell me about it!? Do I pay sh*tloads of cash and have him cut out out of the wall? This option gets me the cat but might cost me thousands of dollars in fees from landlord? Do I abandon him and let animal control sort it out? Do I try to get the landlord to call my friend and have him hang onto the cat till I visit? I havent the slightest f*cking idea what to do about this. I have a hud appt on wednesday to get my section 8 that I cannot miss!!!

Having never owned a cat, how about setting a plate of smelly, yummy food (tuna and/or catnip?) on the ground a few feet in front of the hole, maybe with a fan blowing air towards the hole? Or does that only work in cartoons?

Tried.

I wound up having to leave the cat with someone who was helping me move out. The cat was trapped and is now awaiting my finding a stable place.

So it worked out? I really hope it worked out okay, because I'd like to know when it's appropriate to say that this is one of the greatest thread titles I've ever seen.

Was trapped so not trapped any more?

What does 'hud appt' mean?

I believe 'trapped' as in an animal control officer/helper snagged them.

A HUD apartment is an apartment that has rent subsidized by the Housing and Urban Development Department. A HUD apartment appointment would thus be an appointment to get a HUD apartment as well as a neat tongue twister. Since our country is a morass of inequity they are in demand and if you qualify you better not miss the chance as someone else is waiting right behind.

One could say that as an apt applicant, he's appropriately apprehensive about appearing at his apartment approval appointment.

Well I am in Portland now and after some hair raising drama and sheer misery on arrival (that I wont bore everyone with) I am okay and I have my section 8 rent voucher. Barring any MORE drama going down I am to meet with a housing specialist on monday through one of the local Portland aid organizations. I am sort of worried that I will have to shell out even MORE cash on temporary accommodations if I don't find a place quick but I am prepared to if I absolutely must.

So for now I think I'm okay.

That's good to read. I hope everything goes okay.

Phew.
