Wow, that new Delta Force sounds like the opposite of the original Delta Forces with their wide open levels.
Not sure about the Battlefield-like modes but the DMZ-like one is supposedly really good.
I tried the extract mode. It's lighter then tarkov which is nice but doesn't support solo play. And playing with a group of randos is not a great time. Tempted to try it again.
Oh and hilariously I accidentally ran the game using my mobo graphics card. On the lowest settings it looks like something out of ps2. The cliffs having like one pixel between them.
edit: think there is solo just means you be playing against trios. Some setting/checkbox you have to hit.
I will try the DMZ mode, thanks for the heads up!

Yeah it has solo but it’s like DMZ where it still mixes you into a server with full teams. That YouTube channel has some videos where he goes solo. He’s well known in DMZ as a player you don’t want to mess with even when he’s alone. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s just as good at this new game.
When I’m not grouped with friends in DMZ I always run solo. Often I end up joining a team mid game. Occasionally we team up before we shoot each other but often everyone shoots first and only asks about teaming up afterwards. When I’m solo I use open voice with the whole server but with my mic muted so I don’t give away my location until I want to.
I was in a top 3 CTF team for a few years with the original DF games. I don't think this one even has a CTF mode. I'm very disappointed.
Was looking to see if there was a thread for the new Indiana Jones game... Searched for "Gamers with Jobs Indiana" and discovered that there are 414 gaming jobs available in Indiana.
Casinos, the casinos are hiring in Indiana. I didn't know that Indiana even had casinos! Apparently, they have 13.
Its weird that there's the Games industry (video games) and Gaming (casinos). Im not sure what industry you're in if you design slot machines.
Depends. If you design them for adults its gaming. If its for children it's games.
Whew. Skydance's Behemoth is a pretty incredible VR game. This is the fantasy VR game where you take down giant creatures. Took down the second behemoth which was one of the best VR experiences I've had. It's this giant bat like creature where you're eventually hanging on for dear life as its flying above the clouds banking and diving to try and shake you off. All while you're trying to kill the damn thing.
It was almost overwhelming.
The majority of the game however is a dungeon crawl fighting human opponents. But its' excellent. Very interesting locations and the combat is just fantastic with so many ways to approach battles. There's even some Dark Souls like mini-bosses where you really have to put the combat skills you've learned leading up to them to survive.
So many great VR games released of late. Batman Arkham Shadow then Metro Awakening, and still have Alien in a week I believe.
Here's a video of the boss fight. This is bit in to it where the bat's taken to the sky. So a bit of a spoiler but if anyone is curious can see how crazy this is.

Finance.

It's Gaming. It's only the Games Industry when you put the slot machine code behind loot boxes, but that's what master0 was referencing.
It's Newspeak, plain and simple.
Gambling is a dirty word, so change it to Gaming!
Indiana Jones.... It's very pretty, Troy Baker does a great Indiana Jones voice, it's weird to see a young Harrison Ford in a PC game, I think they used some of the original sound effects from the movies. The punch sound in particular.
Some of the design choices are off putting and unnecessary... Like having to do multiple actions to accomplish something- e.g. 1- Press X to use Key. 2- press stick left to turn key.
AND FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY, WHY IS THERE NOT AN OPTION TO TURN OFF THE BRIGHT WHITE AIMING DOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BLASTED SCREEN
I’m still very early (exploring Italy), but so far this feels exactly like playing an Indiana Jones movie. Loving it. We should probably have a dedicated thread for this game.
I wish it worked on my video card. Something about RTX being required sadly. As it honestly looks good.

It’s not. I’ll have to look it up later, but I’m pretty sure that ‘gaming’ used to describe gambling pre-dates video games entirely.

Sure but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a rebrand whenever it was coined

That’d be pretty impressive given that the term apparently pre-dates ‘gambling’ by a few hundred years.
Edit: obviously the gambling industry prefers ‘gaming’ because it’s got a more positive connotation (probably thanks to things like video games), but that doesn’t change the fact that gaming was the original term.
If you think the Nevada Gaming Commission isn't called the Nevada Gambling Commission because of historical etymology rather than a naked attempt at whitewashing a moral black hole of an industry, then you've got a lot more faith in humanity than I do.
Haha. No faith in humanity here. I’m one of the weirdos who thinks nobody should have kids and the human race should just die out. But I also don’t think corps like the Nevada Gaming Commission give a f*ck about whitewashing anything. Gambling makes money hand over fist and it doesn’t matter one bit what it’s called other than maybe in the margins, but even there I’m skeptical.
If you think the markets are not gambling for the masses, I will happily manage your portfolio... For a fee (AKA, the House Take).

I watch ON1C a lot, too, though I've fallen off a little bit. And you describe how I play DMZ almost to a T except for where I die so, so frequently that I'm out of contraband weapons and very rarely have a two-plate vest or better (very rarely a three-plate, let alone a stealth or comms (those being the best for solos, imho)).
I've played enough Delta Force to know (a) I like it and (b) it's a little more forgiving and (c) whereas I'll always miss Al Mazrah the Zero Dam map is fun and I like that there's an easy difficulty so I can be more casual. Also (d) so many resource and other types of currencies.
Fast Food Simulator entered early access today and my god is it exhausting.
Maclintok wrote:Not a game but an open source integrated games library & launcher a la GOG Galaxy: https://playnite.link/
Started using this last week. It's lean, fast and does all the integrations you'd expect it to do very well. Using it for now. Time will tell if I stick with it.
I also started using this fairly recently. It has better (i.e., working) integrations than GoG. A downside is that it's not cloud based, so data as to be exported/imported when moving between PCs. Another is that it creates duplicates if we have the game in multiple services.
I've been using Playnite for years now, and with all the add-ons, things like duplicates can be condensed to a single entry, and individual play session times can be tracked and charted. The only thing I've run into is that when I was playing Jedi Survivor earlier this year, EA games did not register their run time. Thankfully the EA app registers their time and I was able to manually overide/enter the time, so I at least have my overall time recorded. There are things like the manual overrides and such that GoG doesn't do that I've just come to enjoy and look for.
Do you use a plugin to pack the duplicates?

Sorry for the delayed response.
Yes. DuplicateHider
Thank you. I'll try it.
Now that marvels avengers has had all the microtransactions removed and a 50% buff to xp it is so much more fun to play. In about a week I got a character I never played to level 35 and the original power cap. In contrast the one character I mained for a month while the game was live never made it that far before I got burned out by the grind.
