Should You Play Space Marine 2

Best thumbnail ever.

Cohh has reached peak thumbnail.

I really hope this AC: Shadows has solid gameplay because it looks (and sounds) stunning.

The new Ghosts of Tsushima expansion looks dope!

I don't see anything in that trailer that gives me any hope of it being on par or better than Ghost. Big shoes to fill.

I’d love to know how Sucker Punch are viewing AC: Shadows in comparison to Ghost of Tsushima 2 that they are hopefully working on.

I don’t think Shadows can beat Tsushima in terms of combat. Ubisoft never seen to be able to come up with a robust combat system but hopefully it can excel in other ways. The visuals are stunning and a dynamic weather system could add a lot to the atmosphere. I have high hopes for the stealth (which might be misplaced) and I really like the way they are handling Yasuke, including the way he kicks people through doors.

The samurai fantasy is much more compelling for me than the usual dwarves, elves and dragons stuff so, if it’s decent enough, I’ll get a lot of pleasure just existing in that world.

Don't Skip - Bakeru!
*it is $40. I am skipping. But it is on my wish list for when it hits sales.

Plucky Squire release trailer. It launches at noon EST today and is averaging 84 on Metacritic.

That looks great. Glad to see it's reviewing well. I'll probably pick it up soon.

SkillUp positively gushed over Space Marine 2.

Over 2 million sold in the first few days. You love to see it… when a developer goes all out and doesn’t include nickel & dime BS or a cash shop, and they are rewarded with massive sales.

Also, there's this:

IGN wrote:

"Todd Hollenshead (former CEO of id Software) and I believe that Space Marine 2 is the fastest selling game we’ve ever worked on, including all the Quake, DOOM, Wolfenstein, and RAGE games over the years," [Saber Interactive CEO Tim] Willits claims.

Willits departed id Software in 2019, meaning he would have had at least some oversight over 2020's Doom Eternal. Both Willits and Hollenshead spent many years at id Software, joining in 1995 and 1996 respectively, which was the heyday of games like Doom 2. In the years that they were with id Software, the studio developed the Quake franchise, various Doom sequels and reboots, and Rage and its sequel.
