Oh yeah, this is looking and sounding very promising. Can not wait now.
Still stunned with the graphics for a native Quest 3 game. There are only a few other games that look this good for the device, particularly since they all had needed to support Quest 1 and 2 still.
Squirrel With a Gun: The First 14 Minutes of Gameplay
My son really wants this.
streamers are on Star Wars Outlaws quickly
You’d assume Ubisoft were happy to splash the cash for the sponsored streams.
That side I’ve seen quite a few b & c list streamers get preview copies as well. I think it’s been a good strategy to be fair.
Black State is looking incredible. Seems like a hybrid of Crysis and Metal Gear. Hopefully it gets a console port.
Crimson Desert looks even more bonkers! It has elements of Dragon's Dogma and God of War.
So I played AVOWED early...
*not the most positive about combat but I am still on boad (especially since it is coming to Gamepass)
The thing that has me most interested in Avowed now is that the Storyline picks up after the end of Pillars of Eternity 2 and is really PoE3 in a different game style.
Avowed is getting good notices elsewhere, too. I am cautiously optimistic.
Lots of VR goodness rounding out the year. October got Batman Arkham Shadow. Then got Behemoth in November. And I believe The Wanderer and Metro Awakening are due out this year too.
Curious to see how it looks on Quest 3 native. Know it won't look this good but after Batman still hoping it looks good enough.
It sounds like STALKER 2 Is really taking shape.
CohhCarnage Plays Visions Of Mana (Sponsored By Square Enix) - Part 1
*don't watch if your concerned about spoilers
Saw this and the 4 videos he did in total. His conclusion at the end of the 4th video was, if it the presentation wasn't a colorful anime-esque world, he would be all in.
Star Wars Outlaws has been relegated to ‘play when on PS Plus’ for me after learning that it has insta fail stealth sections. I can tolerate very short stretches of that style of stealth but I never enjoy it.
Edit: An over view and a deep dive into Forever Winter which, thankfully, is PvE.
Exodus is sounding very Mass Effect-esque in the best way. Lots of new info here.
So... I got some bad news today about Space Marine 2 from this GameSpot video. Saber Interactive added dodge and parry, and they added consumable health items. They just couldn’t resist turning it into a ducking Dark Souls piece of crap. The whole point of the kill-to-heal in the first game was to keep the action going constantly. Now players have to keep track of some healing items. And the Emperor’s chosen do not block and parry like goddamn fencers, they eviscerate the aliens, mutants and heretics.
I guess I’ll have to wait for a demo before I buy it because timed dodging and parrying always ruin a game for me.
I'm not against this and I'm putting some faith on Saber Interactive to do the timed parries and dodges in a way that doesn't undermine the "space marine" feeling. The video said executions will regenerate armour so that seems to suggest it will still encourage a push-forward play style a lot of the time. The health packs seems to be there to instill in the player that they can't count on regaining everything simply by resting for a moment in between battles.
Overall I'm all for the devs trying to evolve the melee combat system from the original, which you have to admit was pretty basic. I'm replaying SM1 right now and the harder difficulty has forced me to pick my executions carefully. It's not possible to always be charging in lest I get shredded by all the gunners perched up at various vantage points. That's really the only tactical consideration when engaging in melee combat. Were it not for executions rewarding health the combat would resemble a musou game, swinging through hordes of Orks with reckless abandon.
Space Marine 2 Review - You Aint Seen Nothing Yet!
That title alone says alot coming from ACG. He's very fair and critical and doesn't give out praise like that to often.
So glad it has co-op.
Well the story is predictable so and the characters are not really complex so I am out.
You're expecting nuance from WH40K? The gameplay is the selling point here.

It was never about those elements though and there's tons of backstory and lore.
Usually my sarcasm is much more on point...but two of you seem to think I am remotely serious.
I will get myself calibrated. :)
I spend too much time arguing with people on reddit game subs so I jumped to that conclusion. My bad.
