Good to see people playing and to hear their impressions.

The Gunk Review "Buy, Wait for Sale, Gamepass"

I'm interested in that game purely by the name.

It sounds like a 1980s low-budget horror film that I can rent for $.99 on Amazon Prime.

Seems very harsh on it. I think it looks cool. And I like adventure focused games. Not everything has to be a challenge. It can just be about exploration and be a good experience.

Yes he does seem to dislike it a lot but the terms he uses - solid, etc are not horrible. It is an odd review. I will be checking it out (of course I will check out almost anything on GamePass)

Yeah, I can't tell if he is being more harsh on it because he wants it to be more than what it is. Or is he really turned off by its "blandness"?

"Unchallenging, adventure-focused" games are kind of my jam, so that descriptor is a plus in my book, not a negative. Mind you, The Gunk's reviews are generally mediocre across the board, so it sounds like it might be a bit of a slog, even if you like that sort of thing.

These are always a fun watch.

I really like MinnMax.

I've been intersted in FIST since I first saw the demo. This reminded me I really want to give it a go.

"F.I.S.T. | "Hidden Gem" Metroidvania With Deep Combat + Ray Tracing!"

And it led to their other video, "The Most Satisfying Weapons Of The Year", which is probably a good idea for a fun thread.

EDIT: The first video doesn't seem to want to load here, but is fine on YT. Is it working for anyone else?

Lots of these videos this time of year but I find them fun.

Monster Hunter Rise PC Review "Buy, Wait for Sale, Never Touch?"

I’m half way through but it’s a fantastic celebration of lastbyears games.

Settlers reboot:

Looks like they're using the Ubisoft open world engine for a production/crafting RTS.

I'm curious, and I'd like to see them do something really compelling and innovative. I'm not sure this is it though.

I'd really like to see something like this, but anchored to a first person POV and with Siri/Alexa style voice commands - sort of like a fusion of Battlezone, Hinterlands, and Mount&Blade.

Sometimes it is nice to see a list of games you never have to think about again. What a bunch of stinkers.

The Most Important Place In Gaming | Psych of Play

There are a lot of… places in gaming. A lot of spaces. But the one space that I think is so often thought about but rarely talked about is the space between the respawn point and the boss or even where you are currently stuck at. Today on Psych of Play, let’s dive into that gap and talk about how our minds handle when that space is small and when it is vast.
