It's June and still no thread?!
Your home for 2019-2020 College Football
Fair warning: My daughter will be at Appalachian State this fall, so you might notice an increase in posting about Fun Belt football.
Pro tip: It's pronounced App-a-LATCH-in. (Folks get it wrong a lot; I want y'all to know better.)
Also, this happened since Cal was last in the Rose Bowl:
Gig 'Em, Aggies!
Gig 'Em, Aggies!
You gonna make the trip to Athens, Fed?
I'm here for it.
Bold prediction: Louisville wins more than 2 games.
Also if you guys haven't heard we're going to be the ACC network's first all-access show this fall.

Nah, I'm not as big on away games as my father and brother are. I might possibly try and take in the other SEC schools when I get a bit older (and my kids are older, too). I'd like to see them; I think I went to every Southwest Conference campus back in the day.

I was thinking of saying something snarky, but then I remembered that you folks jave a real coach now. In fact, you probably have a great coach.
Thank goodness we get you for your first game. I have a feeling L’ville will be a tougher out as the season progresses.
Go Irish! ☘️
Indeed the line for the opener is around 20-21 points. We didn't cover that in our final 5 or 6 games last year. Satterfield getting respect already hah.
Looking forward to Marshall making the Big Boy Mowers Gasparilla bowl this year!
And who says college football has no hope for the mid-majors.

Scott Satterfield was previously at ...
... say it with me now ...
App-a-LATCH-an State.
App hired NC State's former OC. I think he'll be fine for the 4-5 years he plans on staying.
Hook 'em, Horns! Interested to see how Herman does this year. Perhaps regression to the mean, but I sincerely hope not!
Also, hoping my Sam Houston State Bearkats can finally hang on and win a title after going to the playoffs like every year for the past decade.
Fresno State
2016: 1-11
2017: 10-4, 2nd in MWC, Hawaii Bowl win
2018: 12-2, 1st in MWC, Las Vegas Bowl win
On this growth path, 2019 should see an undefeated season and a CFB playoff berth. See you guys there!

Uh oh. Here it comes.
Also, this happened since Cal was last in the Rose Bowl:
Posts between an initial mention of App State, and the 2007 Michigan game being mentioned: Zero!
Incidentally, a scheduling Pro Tip: If your team is going to schedule an FCS team, don't pick the one that has won the FCS national championship 3 years running!

Funny you should mention that. North Dakota State has won seven of the past 8 I-AA (aka FCS) championships.
Since 2010, NDSU has won six straight against FBS teams. The big prize was their 2016 win over No. 13 Iowa. Guess everyone thought that the App State-Michigan game was a fluke!
Wikipedia says NDSU has Oregon, Arizona and Colorado coming up over the next 6-7 years. Watch out, Pac 12.

Wow, that is a crazy stat, which I hasn't been aware of. Don't schedule NDSU!
UGA kicked one of their assumed starting WR's off the team and I couldn't be prouder.
I think I said something along the lines of I would hope UGA would handle reports of violence against women better than Corch did, and I glad to see that they have.
Are you ready for some football?
I'll be hate watching the lizards and U on Saturday.
ACC Network launch today. I almost miss cable.

There's a tiny part of me that's going to want access to ESPN for college football. But I saved $40/month by downgrading my Hulu sub, and I've got plenty of other things to do and read and watch this fall.
We had actual games yesterday and no one posted! Heck of a comedy of errors / thriller between Miami and Florida.
SEC! SEC!
I'm gonna guess that UCF is still the class of the sunshine state.
I watched. At least the score was close so it was somewhat entertaining.
Conference pride still doesn't allow me to cheer for Miami.
Comedy of errors, par for the course for opening games. Hopefully this weekend will be better.
IT'S GAME DAY!
Tonight the Fightin' Texas Aggies host Texas State, and Clemson plays Georgia Tech. Funny that both A&M and Clemson are playing Thursday night games and will play each other next week.
I love how week one has games every night for five days. LOVE IT!
Ga Tech is something like a 40-pt dog in the Clemson game.
And, yeah, this is a big long weekend of college ball. App State is opening at home against East Tennessee State. It's about the only decent game on ESPN+ this week.
Fresno State plays USC on Saturday!
Vegas has the Bulldogs as a two touchdown underdog, but if they win, oh boy do I get to crow about Fresno State continuing to reign supreme in California college football.
Time to see how well Tedford has been recruiting, because Fresno is having to replace basically everybody from last year's team.
