Welcome folks, and happy E3 week! You may all celebrate by getting hype. As I write this, Microsoft’s conference has just finished, and the biggest news is that our lord and saviour Keanu Reeves will be in Cyberpunk 2077, due out in April 2020. Also, Microsoft announced its next console, Project Scarlett, similarly slated for 2020, with specs that look suspiciously geared toward streaming games.

Anyhoo, how about the games coming out this week? Indie devs care not a jot for the industry convention of not releasing games during E3, so the grab bag of PC titles is as stuffed as usual. That said, not much of it tickles my fancy. Maybe those of you who dig mundane simulators will enjoy one of the simulator games coming out. Dude Simulator 5 says it’s a sandbox game about a (white) dude in a small town where you can do whatever you might want to do in real life; then the first screenshot is of him going on a shooting spree. I’m not sure if that’s biting satire or just depressing. Woodcutter Simulator 2011, on the other hand, does what it says on the tin. Age Of Omens is a single-person dev trying to make a Skyrim-scale RPG with online co-op.

We usually filter out all the Hentai and pervy stuff from TWA release lists, but what to do about Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don’t Dry? Somehow it’s made it to consoles, and the advertising leans heavily on reciting all the bad reviews it received on PC release. Yup.

Verlet Swing is a psychedelic first-person swinging game. It’s like being Spider-Man on magic mushrooms.

Forza Horizon 4: LEGO Speed Champions puts LEGO in your Forza. It adds race tracks based on locations in the LEGO movies, uses Forza’s destructible environment tech to make things break into LEGO blocks, and incorporates LEGO minifigs as drivers. Sounds like a great way to get your kids to hog your favourite racing game.

To be honest, nothing jumps out at me this week. I’ll throw a bone to Forza Horizon 4: LEGO Speed Champions to make up for neglecting racing games in the past.

Here's the list, now in release-date order!

Woodcutter Simulator, you say?

I thought you might be keen

I've played INTERSTELLAR ROGUE and it really has potential.

This is the first release thread I've read in a long time, and I'm absolutely astonished by the sheer volume. By my count (and I might be off a few, as I counted manually), 118 games will release this week on the PC. And this is a nothing week in the middle of no particularly important time, just random stuff coming out.

I knew we had too many people wanting to make games for a living, but this is seriously crazy.

Also why I'm not too concerned about the Indiepocalypse or the industry contracting. If 2/3rds of those games simply went up in smoke, would anyone even notice? I'd be surprised if even the people making these games get enough buyers or players for it to be meaningfully different from making games as a hobby.

But, but.... how could we live without Fat Prisoner Simulator 2?

Out of curiosity I looked up the “Vegetarian Alliance” game on Steam and this is the summary:

PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS , DOTA" makes you happy, crazy game play at home makes you addicted, while you are crazy, your fat is also growing infinitely! Come join the "Vegetarian Alliance" and follow us to fight junk food and become a super god!
