Ghost Recon: Breakpoint - Catch All

Maybe it's the tweaked settings or new NVIDIA driver, but it feels a little smoother. Ran a benchmark (nice that they included that) and my CPU is fine at 20-30% but GPU is maxed at 97-99% so if I want improvements I'm going to need to get a 2080... don't really have the 1K+ to get that right now so looks like I'm on High with around 30-40 fps.

Definitely feel like the game is undercooked though. Feels like it needs another 3 months of optimisation and tuning. Still enjoying my time though and don't regret my purchase.

PSA to address something I saw on the last page: this game does not have ray tracing.

I decided to just let my Uplay plus subscription kick in, and play the game that way. Wayyyy cheaper and knowing me, I'll stop playing it in a few weeks anyway, and then get back to it in 6-12 months.

Anyways - I don't understand why its so grainy? I can run the game on Very High but I can tell its not as fluid as it should be on a 2070 (Laptop version with a top of the line processor as well) so it feels kinda unoptimized, as others have noted.

The gameplay was somewhat dull, until I tried taking on a mine area, which was fun, but a lot of shooting one person, running away, coming back shooting one or two persons, running away and so on.

Its interesting so far but I am not over sold on the game.

Middcore is right, it doesn't have ray tracing... i saw articles that mentioned it but it was actually links to other games.

Still i'm running a 2080 and running it in Ultra and it looks fantastic for me. It's night/day difference between 2 betas ago and now. You're able to see individual rain drops fall with impact and the water has reflections which i thought was a ray tracing activity.

It sucks if the quality starts to drop so quickly

I really enjoyed Wildlands, but didn't really click with the beta for this. The menu systems were astonishingly cumbersome (the interface to 'pin' missions and review evidence towards investigations was horrendous) and I feel like the near-future unspecified Pacific archipelago setting is both very generic and not very well thought through. It reminds me a lot of Far Cry 3, to be honest.

So do you never get AI team members? Or have I misunderstood that? I really liked the AI team in Wildlands.

I read that they are going to introduce AI teammates post launch.

For whatever reason, a lot of the stuff that people complain about actually doesn't bother me. I've played about 8 hours so far and enjoyed my time. Took out some bases, been doing some of each mission types and it has been good fun. Picked the Sniper class and ranked up to Rank 9 so far. Was actually challenging to get the sniper headshot kills at 250+ metres.

Environments are good too. I've liked travelling through the swampy areas, coastal hills and snow capped mountains.

I'm about 4 hours in or so and it's okay I guess. I miss the squad members with their never miss sync shots. You get drones that do it but they're consumables. The skill tree is all spread out and it's a bit overwhelming trying to figure out which direction you want to go, apparently a bunch of the them are perks which you can only have one (upgradable to three) active at a time. So one of my first priorities was upgrading that.

Enemy drones have not been as big a problem as I had feared, in the early game at least. just hit the floor and do the roll around in the mud camo move whenever something's overhead and you're usually good.

I have zero attachment to any of my gear because the loot grind nature of it means there's probably something better just around the corner which feels wrong somehow. I guess they intend for you to focus in on a specific loadout only after you've level capped?

I wasnt able to prone camo against Azrael drones? Has that worked for you?

The gear is pretty disposable early on - that being said - break down everything. I love that the upgrades carry over to the same type of weapon so you dont lose anything by upgrading your weapons. I invested in maxing my ability to upgrade my weapons. Now granted I upgrade every sniper/DMR and assault, but I dont feel like I lose anything when I swap because I have usually upgraded that particular weapon within that category. Dont upgrade weapons you dont intend to use (for me LMGs) because parts become more scarce as the amount to upgrade rises significantly with gold and purple weapons.

On a separate note - the game has been down since 1040am for me - anyone else?

Apparently everyone else according to the interwebs...

How's the PvP? Ghost War in Wildlands was one of my highlights from 2018.

If the azrael drones are the airplane looking ones, I've had it fail to work once when I didn't notice the drone until it was nearly on top of me, but if I do when the icon is near the edge of my radar it's been fine. I'm playing on easy and I have one of the stealth perks so those might make a difference.

Lot of fun! It's a definite step up in regards to Wildlands, but they need to adjust the win condition to be more than best out of 3.

So Im at gear score 150 and the game has its hooks into me. I wish you could improve your gear like you can your weapons - you can break down gear, but all I can tell is that you can use it to make consumables. Im still regularly burning through gear though I suspect that will slow down. Chewing through the story which is decent, but pulled off a lot for side quests and exploring those darn question marks all over the map. I havent played any multiplayer, but Id be game if there is a regular cadre playing (PC). If the Division 2 had the scaling enemies w/out all the bullet spongey stuff Id be in heaven.

MotorBikes can be treacherous. Drive with caution LoL...

Yeah that will leave a mark

The Map is huge and the mountain top feels like you are at the top of Everest are something. So much to explore and collect.

Had a lot of fun on the weekend just exploring and doing all the different class challenges. I have Sniper, Panther and Assault all to level 10 and now working my way through the medic class.

Honestly the game is good fun, but if they could just fix those damn ladders! Should not be that hard to climb a stinkin' ladder!

What's the max gear score? I'm about 140 at the moment.

I'm playing on Xbox and I've got like an hour played. I hope to spend more time this week. I'm liking it so far.

I believe there are things (missions? bases?) that are rated at 200.

It is a lovely game to explore in, and nice to stumble on a few random missions as I explore as well.

Still havent really worked out strategies for dealing with drones and robots other than distracting or sneaking past them, but its great that human enemies are succeptible to a headshot regardless of how many levels they are above me.

Also picked it up over the weekend and am playing on the PS4 if anyone wants to join up. Mostly enjoying it so far.

Aerial drones are 1 shot sniper kills with a sniper rifle. The buggy looking ones should be attacked from a distance, they have obvious weak points, they are also one shot kills with the sniper class power activated, 3-5 shots in weak area without class power. Weak points are the orangeish red areas near the wheel wells. I haven't engaged a Behemoth yet. Max gear level is 300 and max player level is 30. I wish I had known that earlier as I didn't use some points to get the other classes on my main. Oh well, that's what an Alt is for.

Well, when you rank up each level in a class you get a skill point. So really, it's the best thing to do as that's 40 extra skill points right there. Plus there will be more classes coming too.

You can also loot extra skill points from Blue Caches in certain strongholds.

Also Base jumping seems broken.

You can get a lot from PvP as well... 3-7 depending on performance each match.

Tried out the PvP last night. Overall, I liked it but need to spend a bit more time with it. It's odd - the maps seem much more deathmatchy than in Wildlands and the weird texture pop-up on the PS4 is far more noticeable.

I think it may be the way they're structuring the objectives. Plus even in Wildlands the focus was always kill the other team first because you got more points each round. It was very annoying when you had 0 support going for the objective and/or get cussed at because you did the objective before everyone was dead.

I did get my first full squad kill last night. They all pushed up to my side just as i made it into a bunker that had a window looking behind it. So as they went past i shot the tail and did a merry go round between window and door taking the others out.

Lotta fun in here to be had, but can take some exploration to find it. An interesting iteration on Wildlands, which I loved. Needs some work for sure. Playing regularly if anyone is interested in teaming up. Not sure if there are guilds/squads/teams whatever, but friend me on UPlay if you want to jam, z121.

There's a particular mission where I have to get in a car and use the minigun to protect some people. I've replayed it several times and even put the difficulty on Arcade and every time, same spot the car gets destroyed.

Reading up about it, a few other people have the same issue... I'm really hoping it's addressed in this weeks patch, otherwise that pretty much halts my story progression...
