Ghost Recon: Breakpoint - Catch All

Pages

Announcement happening on 5/9 at 11:30am PDT.

I also got an email with the following link for the announcement:

https://skelltechnology.com/skellcon...

Which if you click on the About button you find the following video:

For those that don't know Skell Tech was main part of the latest update mission that featured Jon Bernthal.

So it looks like we may be going back to the future. There's also rumours going around that it's also set in the Pacific Islands.

Looking forward to seeing what they roll out.

Wildlands has really grown on me since release. Questionable politics aside, setting the game in Bolivia was an ingenious way to include a bunch of different biomes in a (semi) natural manner.

Reading the tea leaves here, it looks like there will be an increased reliance on near-future tech.

I'm an old man so what I really want is a GR set in the Cold War era or at least with Cold War weapons and political climate. Ghost Recon: Flashpoint if you will.

Ubi's been on a good roll so I'll keep the faith anyway. I just hope that the different parts of the game (by this I mean co-op and pvp) are better integrated than Wildlands (the Division 2 provides a wonderful template).

I skipped Wildlands but I’m a fan of the series so I’m interested to see what this is.

The PVP mode really got its hooks in me. Reminded me of something from a previous era. I'd hope for something similar in the next one.

Wildlands was one of the most pleasant surprises of the last few years for me. Hope the new game keeps the overall open world format.

I watched a stream of Wildlands when it first came out where the characters were discussing finding a bloody condom in the glove compartment of a drug lord's car and decided that was enough Wildlands for me. Did it actually end up being good?

The Cold War setting TrashiDawa describes sounds way better to me than future-tech.

Wildlands is a very fun tactical shooter. Enjoyable and easy to pick up after a long layoff. It can get repetitive and can cheese your way through in some missions, but also can turn off the HUD and increase the difficulty on the fly to give you the challenge you want at any given time. Fun to just mess around with different tactics depending on mood.

Wildlands is still a fantastic game. The multiplayer is so underrated and it’s just too bad it was released so far after the game released. Hoping for Wildlands 2 or something similar and not another close map shooter.

I'd rather see Splinter Cell. I skipped Wildlands so maybe I'll get in on this one.

The politics of the game are pretty gross, but it's a good to great shooter.

Wildlands actually had a fun Splinter Cell mission.

The dialogue and story are trash but the shooting is really damn good.

Yep, I didn't pay much attention to the story...at all. I just role played Sicario and having a special forces team and that was enough for me.

HAWX 3?

/cynic on

First of the Ghost Recon titles to focus more on Clancy's YT focused Net Force series, cross-playable on PC, consoles and mobiles.

/cynic off

Ha!

“Don’t you people have cell phones?”

Scuttlebutt says the title is Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. This image apparently got put up somewhere and then pulled:

Edit: More rumors: https://www.gamepressure.com/newsroo...

Spoiler:

The villain is apparently John Bernthal's character from Wildlands and it's set on the fictional Pacific island of "Aurora." It's focused on 4-player co-op. Release date is supposedly Oct 4.

Looks good to me, definitely a day one purchase.

Looks like my kinda game. I’m excited.

Lara, with less rebar, more helpful friends and some tactics ... yeah, I'm likely there day one too.

To me, it looks more like Tom Clancy's Metal Ghost Solid: The Twin Shanes.

Looks to me like it'd be more fun in this game to walk around in your ballistic plate armor ignoring cover and mowing down every target painted by your AR goggles.

To make a game designed to appeal to Metal Gear fans wouldn't be the worst move in the world. I've thought that's what they might do with Splinter Cell.

Edit: Also, the more I see the more I’m getting underlying Far Cry 2 vibes.

I actually didn't get one this time around, but know they're testing this weekend.

Ok. Yeah this is a purchase for me but I didn't pre-order..yet.

Have they talked about a PvP mode out with the release? The Ghost War PvP mode added about six months after release was one of my highlights of 2018/2019.

They made a point ot say it was out on release this time. Hopefully that means the PC will have a decent population this time around.
