Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order - Catch All

Personally, I don't think Jedi: Fallen Order is a very well balanced action game, so I'd recommend Jedi Knight (a.k.a. "Normal Difficulty" anywhere else). I beat it on Jedi Master and while it was not the hardest action title I've ever played, it was certainly one of the more irritating.

Of course, you can change the difficulty any time, so you can start on Jedi Master and see for yourself, and if you like it then keep it. If you don't, then knock it down.

Seconded. I played on Jedi Master and considered bumping things down for 2 of the bosses.

No judgement if you change your mind later!

I played the first half at Jedi Master and the second half on Story mode. I think Story difficulty is the better experience, as it lets you focus on exploration more without worrying, and also feels like a much more authentic Star Wars experience (the idea of an even lightly trained Jedi getting killed by a space spider or a single Stormtrooper rubs me the wrong way). But it is very easy to try different options, thankfully.

I just finished and really enjoyed it. i think the story was really good with some strong hooks and an incredible ending. Great Star Wars feels!

Combat was not as good as saw AC:Odyssey. It did get better when I stopped trying to block everything and did more dodging and side stepping. Looking forward to future content!

Spoiler:

Having Vader at the en makes sense since he runs the Inquisitors. We also know from Rebels that the Inquisitors were terrified of failing because of Vader. Besides doing such great mocap work throughout the Trilla actress did a great job of showing her fear when you start hearing that Vader breathing! You can legit see her eyes start to freak at when his voice speaks!. Great job by her.

How is the performance mode on Xbox One X? The guys over at Digital Foundry found that, upon release, it was too unstable. Has it been improved since then?

I had a similar issue with The Witcher 3 on the top difficulty setting. You play as a highly trained monster slayer and yet the first pack of wolves you encounter cause you serious trouble. It's best not to think too hard about this stuff!

Sorry if I missed it earlier in the thread, but is there a consensus of PC or PS4?
Both are on sale, but I want to make sure I am not missing an important difference.
I'm leaning towards PS4 since this seems to be a good couch game.

I think PC has zero technical issues and fast load times.

I played on PS4 Pro, but I also have an SSD installed for complete overkill (seriously, those Sekiro load times were absolutely killing me). I'd say go wherever you have the fastest disk and decent graphical power.

I'm playing this on PC. It's been great so far.

Thanks all.
I grabbed it for PC.

I did PS4, base model, only had one crash and the initial load time wasn't all that bad.

Wow, the

Spoiler:

9th sister fight

is a tough one for me.

Edit: Almost never fails. Post that I can't beat something and then the next time I beat it

Dathomir got significantly more difficult for me. Most of the combat isn’t bad, but there have been a much higher percentage of encounters that have been pretty challenging. There also seems to be more combat and while I like the combat it is starting to be a bit too much. I just met a boss and he seems to need a ton of hits to bring him down.

I may need to drop this down to normal to keep my sanity and keep enjoying the game, which is my 2019 release GOTY.

Just as an FYI there are a lot of places where you can just run past mobs.

Thanks to my secret Stanta I've been enjoying this game. Except for any sliding sequences. Or things that spin that you need to freeze and then traverse in some way. I dropped combat to baby level so I could feel more like a badass jedi, and that made a big difference to my enjoyment of the game.

I'm really enjoying the story. But seriously, those sliding sequences can go die in a fire.

You. I like you. LOL.

Those sequences added nothing to the game. Didn’t help that I died a bunch either.

The sliding sequences seem kind of like Respawn had a meeting where they said, "OK we have all this experience with wall-running mechanics and they fit into this game reasonably well but we have to INNOVATE, PEOPLE" and then sliding is what they came up with.

Yes, the controls just aren't good enough for those sliding sequences to be fun. I have also been really enjoying this game.

I must be a freak. I enjoyed and didn’t die on any of the sliding sequences. The general combat however made my blood boil. Maybe my controller lag helped with sliding and hurt with lightsabering?

The sliding sequences (like a lot of things in this game) were lifted directly from the Uncharted series.

This is basically a Darksiders game. It's a bunch of parts of other popular games staple-gunned together. If there's something in it you like or don't like, it was probably lifted whole cloth from somewhere else. At least you're not having to fist chests to open them up.

Dragon Age 2 is the only game with chest fisting for me

Never played them, but slightly ironic considering "Uncharted but in a galaxy far, far away" was basically the concept of the cancelled Amy Hennig SW game, if reports are correct.

Yep! My assumption at this point is that Hennig's game was canceled because Respawn was pretty much already making the same thing.

The sliding controls a lot better if you don't try and steer the camera. Dunno if that's got people hung up, but I did a lot better when I stopped trying to manipulate the camera and just moved the guy.

I have been ok with the sliding but the stupid ropes kept killing me.

There's a power you'll get that makes the ropes easier partway through the game

Wow. This game had such a good story. I am so pleased.

Just finished it. I really liked it but didn't love it. I played it on PC and found the exploration, story, and characters to be great but I struggled with the combat, especially with the boss battles. Once I sucked up the ego and moved to story (ie easy) mode for the tough fights it was much more enjoyable. Loved the twist at the end.

Overall glad I played it and I hope this is the start of similar future games.

Saw a TV ad for this last night that spoiled at least 2 major surprises in the game. I guess once it's been out for a month or so spoilers are fair game for ads? Seems kinda crappy

Is it spoilers in context only or even out of?
