Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker

LEt the discussion begin! I will start with my theories

So in the books, Han and Leia have twins so maybe Rey and Kylo are the twins which mean she has Skywalker blood. So their telepathic connection makes more sense since they're related.

Either that or she is the kid Luke had in the book and just left her in the desert and it's Lukes ship we see flying away when she was a kid. I like the first theory better.

Palpatine is back as a Force ghost like Yoda?

Lots to unpack here!

why did she need to run away from the TIE? How does her minuscule momentum in the same direction as the TIE help?

Nice to see Lando.

The "No one is ever really gone" line followed by Papatine's laugh is rather obvious foreshadowing.

Is "Skywalker" plural in the way that "Jedi" could also be singular and plural?

God forbid anything new happen. Let's just bring everyone back. I expect to see a Force cantina with all the aliens from Mos Eisley.

Zero chance Rey is a Skywalker.

The last thing on Earth I would want for this movie is for Rey to be a Skywalker.

The thing I've assumed since the beginning of Episode VII is that Rey is a Skywalker.

It's official, Star Wars has finally jumped the shark Tie Fighter.

It's more dramatic that way.

Drama queen!

The Jedi are no more, so Rey and the young force users name their new order after Skywalker.

"The Skywalker were guardians of peace and justice for a thousand generations"...

Yeah it works fine a group.

Well, they only have one official member right now.

This my fave possible explanation I've seen yet.

More like naming it after the Skywalkers.

It's about the only one I'll gladly accept.
Palpatine back as anything but a force ghost would just be dumb.

Rise of Skywalker: A Brazzers Production.

sorry.

So much fan wank in this thread over a minute of trailer.

My opinion on it:

Honestly, I think there's a chance Palp as a Force ghost could be great. Seeing the First Order as I think Bob Chipman first put it as a bunch of doofuses and goobers who like to cosplay as their fascist Grandpas because it makes them feel big, Palp could be a diminished, but still present cyclical force in that conflict. Space Hitler's dead, but he lives on in the hearts of the shouty dumbasses who carry his legacy forward.

Not like, a great chance, but a chance.

Palpatine in a Sith data cube is my guess.

Maybe he lived after falling down that chute.. its not like we saw a body.

Is Luke/Rey's lightsaber white?

It does seem much lighter then ep 7 but it may be the lighting.

I think I might just be done with Star Wars.

It’s a good instinct not to be too invested in every movie in the series at this point. Rebels is good. Last movie was okay.

Let the old things die, etc.

Last movie was a turd, and the previous one wasn't much better. I don't have high hopes.

I loved the Transformers as a kid; as an adult the new stuff doesn't do anything for me. People's tastes change; film changes. It's OK to move on.

I love all 7 movies
