Suddenly my PS4 Netflix is unwatchable - any ideas?

So within the last two weeks, my Netflix on PS4 has sh*t the bed. Long loading times, horrible resolution when the program actually displays. I thought it was a fluke, next day same thing. Then a couple days later it was fine! Then again, same sh*t, unwatchable.

I've done all the usual BS - reset my router, deleted and re-downloaded the app on PS4.

This is out of the blue, it's worked great for years. My other apps are fine, Hulu, YouTube, Amazon, all great quality. Even testing the connection within Netflix shows 54 mbps speed.

Finally broke down and contacted Netflix customer service - they had no idea. Said it sounds like a connectivity issue. Tried Netflix on my desktop pc and it was fine. Tried Comcast, said my connectivity was fine, sounds like a Netflix problem.

So I'm at a brick wall here and just kinda hoping the problem eventually solves itself as mysteriously as it began, but just curious if anyone here has any experience with such an issue?

Have you tried a full reset on the PS4?

This isn't one of those things where you need to rebuild your PS4 database, is it?

Sorry. I came here because I read the thread title, and assumed that this was a philosophical discussion.

I'll just back out...

Do you have any other devices that can run Netflix? Figuring out whether it's just the PS4 or anything in your house would probably be the first step.

FWIW I recently have had similarly weird sh*t on my PS4 Pro’s Netflix app.

Extended buffering, low resolution, audio de-sync. Other apps are just fine. Gaming is fine.

The last couple days it's been working fine again. The PS4 in my daughter's room had been having the same problem too, something about that PS4 app specifically, I dunno.

Do you live near other people? Is it wireless? Certainly sounds like a network issue, especially if the PC that works fine is wired in vice wireless. Specifically it sounds like a lot of dropped packets, hence my thought of interference from other networks.

In which case you should change the frequency you're using for wireless on your router.
