2019 MLB Season Catch-All

As a Giants Fan, the second best thing besides a WS win is watching the Dodgers not win a World Series. Once the Dodgers went up 3-0 I thought it was not going to go well for the Nats. Then Dave Roberts makes 2 decisions that I think were wrong 1) going with Kershaw and 2) sticking with Kelly for a second inning and bringing in Jansen or someone else and also the Nats continue their recent un-Nats way in the playoffs and actually win. Kershaw is a top notch regular season pitcher but playoffs are just not his thing. Now that the Dodgers are done I and I don't have root for them to loose, I guess I move on to root against the Yankees.

Well the Astros are off a good start, even with that solo Devil Ray homer. Cole maybe settling in.

Right, so.

.....the random outcome generator that is playoff baseball means there's not a single team in the playoffs remaining that would be a "surprise" if they won it all, right?

it's always a surprise if the national league wins

Great game, loved every minute of it!

Nationals would be a legitimate surprise. Lost the face of the franchise (whether he was actually deserving of it or not is a different discussion) in Bryce Harper in the offseason, have a pathetic bullpen, are a wild card team, beat the best regular season Dodger's team of all time and the same team that went to the World Series twice in a row, won both its series in extra innings, and had never won a playoff series before this year.

Hell of a shutout, and almost no hitter

Cards could have used a few runs from their last game. It was gonna be tough to take the series against the 3 aces anyway, but now, that is a mountain to climb.

Great game to watch, though.

Astros - Yankees tonight! My son flipped a coin to predict the winner; I'll update after the game with whether the two of us (and the coin) are heading to Vegas tomorrow.

Yeah gotta tip the cap to Sanchez. He kept the Cards guessing all night last night.

Maybe we’ll fair better against Mad Max this afternoon.

Everyone! Check you seats and surrounding area to see if you can find the Cardinals offense. They’ve misplaced it and they don't recall where they might have lost it.

lol. Nats definitely looking good right now but having maybe 2 relievers in the bullpen you can trust is going to bite us eventually. I will not be tricked into losing my sense of dread!

Astros must have been tired but I'll take it. Go Yanks!

That sucked. Go 'Stros! Wake up the bats!

Washington Nationals OF Adam Eaton says 'Seinfeld' key to big hit

"Everything I was thinking, they did the opposite," Eaton said. "So I was thinking 3-2 [count] should be a heater here and I'm like, well, that's the opposite, so I should George Costanza it and just go ahead and said breaking ball, and that's what happened."

2-2, feels like maybe extra innings coming.

Woo, 11th inning walk off homer

Hell yeah! What a game!

Correa was a hero on offense and defense!

Great game. Yanks still got the home field advantage, but I expect every game from here will be close.

My Nationals are one win away from the World Series. I don't even know what to think. Just an unbelievable postseason so far. Astonished that the lack of bullpen depth hasn't mattered in the NLCS. Looking up flights to DC for next weekend...argh.

Oh boy.

Nats are doing to the Cards what the Cards did to the Braves.

5-0 pitching change only 1 out in the 1st inning.

Ah. This is how the Braves fans felt. SMH.

Yep. Time to watch the debate.

What a great win by the Astros! Home field advantage retaken!

Bases loaded in the 8th but Nationals get out of it. I think it's over now.

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Can't believe it. It did not seem like this was our year. Both the Wild Card game and NLDS Game 5 had moments where I was like "oh well, it's been a good season, hope they bring enough of this team back next year."

That first inning last night was indeed pretty awesome... It sure looked like the Cardinals were just not even going to compete, so props to them for getting back in the game.

Looking at flights to DC is not encouraging right now...looking at $500 just to fly down there. I would really like to go, but I don't think I can swing $500 plus even a face value WS ticket. Maybe I'll just do a ton of driving next weekend? We'll see.

Astros - Yankees got rain delayed to tonight; they will play up to four days in a row now, losing their travel day. Go Astros!

There's a way that the lack of a travel day becomes irrelevant: win 2 in a row.

Go 'stros!

20 years ago today my handle happened.

A true Met's moment. Though I'm not sure it would qualify as such if they had managed to win the series.
