Borderlands 3 Loot-All

I have completed the first two DLCs with my group and we’re set to do the one that just dropped in the coming days when our schedules align. I really like the DLC. They were both pretty solid, story and character wise.

I also really liked them as well. It’s interesting that this one is all new characters. Going to start tomorrow after I try and solo the new Takedown.

+1 to the really enjoying the DLCs so far. I started the new one last night and the first couple hours of it have been fun too.

Sold!

How does this make sense?

When BL3 first came to Steam I ponied up for whatever version includes the season pass. However the game didn't play well. My CPU is ancient now (i5-2550k) and been doing what I could to stem the tide before having to buy a new rig. First getting a decent GPU at the time (GeForce 1070) and then later getting a g-sync monitor. Things have been great there for quite awhile but in the last year or so there's been a select few games which have not run well even with graphic settings turned down below what I'd want to play at.

Figured BL3 was the game that did my setup in. It defaulted to High graphics settings but ran crummy. So bumped it down to Medium and even though the frame rate was slightly higher it still ran poorly. So I just didn't bother trying to play it and resigned myself to waiting to play till I got a new computer (in like another year). Today I went to uninstall it but decided to give it one more whirl. Ran poorly. So figured I'd see what it looks like at Low settings. Didn't look terrible but not great either and still ran poorly with stuttering and slow texture fill in. So a no go.

I was going to uninstall it right then but was curious to see the graphic difference between Low and Ultra settings. So I pop it up to Ultra and a smooth 60fps.

WTH! REALLY W...T...H!

I'm overjoyed, but upset, and incredulous about this outcome.

The game has really weird optimization issues. I’ve been playing at low/medium and the last few patches have caused stuttering issues that weren’t their before. Last night, I was reading about potential fixes. The only consensus is to go into the advanced graphics and mess with every option at all the different settings until an obtuse combination works.

Man, this game...Maybe its coming from Call of Duty and Destiny 2, where the guns felt good to shoot and handle, but I have yet to actually find a gun that I am enjoying in Boarderlands 3. They just all seem...not great.

Has anyone tried the Takedown at Guardian Breach? I get to the first real challenge area (alien enemies and three crystals) and I've been kicked back to the beginning as if I died. This has happened twice and I've had full health both times. Is this a glitch or is there a mechanic I'm missing.

Edit: I looked it up and apparently, you have to all three going at the same time and basically have to bounce between them as much as possible to keep their charge going. That seems very difficult solo.

One word... Stadia... Plays great on there.

So I picked the game up when it came out of Steam but haven't really dug too far into the game yet due to other games taking my attention. Are there any good build guides out there? In previous games I always just picked whatever skills seemed cool but never felt like I got a cohesive character going and died quite a bit. Looking to make my playthrough of 3 a little bit smoother.

Few YouTubers I would recommend, Thiccfila, Moxsy, Joltzdude, and Killer6 who I know has some l33t speak variation of his name but can't remember off-hand.

Worth noting, if you're playing Zane, the answer is Seein' Dead, the Class Mod. His builds really don't work without that right now.

For reference, the two other characters I'm playing (don't have Zane saved right now...)
Gamma Burst Fl4k
Ties That Bind Amara

Paul Tasso at Forbes has a bunch of class guides too.

One thing, any class builds don’t really mean anything until you’re well into the end game content. You can respec any time and your bank has a bunch of slots. It’s fine to just sorta spec out the premise of what you’d like to do (I have a ghostly Flak and a Cryo Nova Zane) and not stick to carefully while running through the campaign and first levels of Mayhem.

Pick what you feel is cool. Respecs can be done at any time and they always cost 10% of your money, which is really only used to buy storage upgrades. It's functionally free once you're done with upgrades or just bought one.

Borderlands 3 is having a free weekend on Stadia if anyone wants to give it a try.

I assume most on here own it already but for those lurkers that wanted to give it a go later... or anyone that wants to see how Stadia works... I'll probably be around.

Free weekend on Steam too. Play from today until Wed.

Also, for anyone like me who has been playing too much, current weekly event is basically 100% chance on dedicated drops. Good time to get some Monarchs and the like or to try to far for a perfectly anointed one if you are like me.
