Borderlands 3 Loot-All

I am really struggling with the agonizer 9000 boss. There must be some trick but the best I can do so far is get his armor down to less than 20%. It wouldn't be much of an issue if there weren't times he one shots my pet and/or me. If anyone can beat it without any second wind triggering, you have my mucho respeto.

Liberal use of the porcelain pipe bomb got me through that one relatively easily. Aim for the platform he's standing on.

I switched to easier difficulty and it didn't seem to make much of a difference. I died 4 more times but finally beat him. Oddly, there is a blast wave emitted on death that downed me but the cut scene that triggered second winded me... Whatever, I'll take it.

Anyone else have any experience with easier difficulty? It seems like it takes some of the edge off and that is it.

I am playing on Easy and I have found it to be pretty hard. I've rage quit the game twice so far. Katagawa Ball is my current reason to not play. f*ck that guy.

Yah, I played the first planet on normal, was rough, have played on easier since and doesn't seem like much difference. Anyone know what a good level progression is for planets? I just finished the third planet(Athenas?) and I am back to planet 2 for chapter 9 I think and just hit level 20. I have done all of the side quests so far. I'm slow playing through it, but full time job, 2 classes, a house, and my wife wants some of my time.

I'll get you through it tboon.

If you find bosses too hard just go do side missions to level up more and get better weapons. They make it easy to hop around this time.

I haven't had any problems with any parts of the game yet on normal difficulty. I've been obsessively clearing all side missions and searching for all the challenges. I enjoy exploring these spaces and find them quick to get around even if I'm sprinting past encounters. I'm finding the side missions are pretty quick and easy to complete without a tonne of back tracking. I replayed Borderlands 2 earlier and got very angry at the absolute slog some of those side missions were. I'm only part way through Eden-6, however.

Anyone up for some group operations? I'm just at the point of jumping to the second planet with Mose and FL4K , but playing BL2 was an absolute blast playing with an old friend.

This and try and get the challenges done in each area so you can unlock the special chest.

You only need to find all three Typhon logs to unlock the chest!

Borderlands patch came out yesterday. Looks like they fixed Killavolt and the porcelain pipe bomb.

Today's patch is significant for Amara players

https://borderlands.com/en-US/news/2...

VAULT HUNTER ADJUSTMENTS
Zane

Zane’s gadgets were great at providing additional utility but lacked impact as players leveled up. We increased the Digi-Clone damage with all equipped weapon so the skill can scale better with players as they get to higher levels and harder content. The Drone requires a lot of player involvement to take full advantage of its damage output and increasing the base damage as well as the augments will greatly increase the Drone’s versatility and reward players even more for using it effectively.

Digi-Clone Damage Increased by 38%
Drone Damage increased by 50%
- Cryo Bullets damage penalty removed
- Drone Rocket damage increased by 50%
- Almighty Ordnance Rockets damage increased by 75%
Amara

Guardian Angel health restoration reduced from 100% to 50%
Glamour damage penalty reduced from -30% to -10%
FL4K

Guerillas in the Mist’s bonuses greatly outweighed its penalty to the base skill. We don’t want to remove the playstyle completely, but the overall damage output had to be slightly adjusted because it was outperforming other builds. We’re monitoring the changes and may make another change to the ammo return in a future patch.

Guerillas in the Mist duration reduced from 8 seconds to 6 seconds
Guerillas in the Mist Critical Damage Bonus reduced from 50% to 25%

So I am enjoying this game, but I am finding that it has design issues similar to the first game that I thought they worked out better in the second game. Mainly these are the lack of vending machines except at usually the beginning of an area and constantly having to scrounge for ammo. I love that you can fast travel from just about anywhere now but it is only useful for getting back to the starting area. Once you have fast traveled to visit the vending machine there is no way to fast travel back where you were or even to the nearest New You Station that you have unlocked. It really seems that for every minute of fun I am having I am having 1 to 2 minutes of drudge work between trying to find ammo or making my way back through the level after having fast traveled to the vending machine. I am sure it will get better as I upgrade my storage space, but I don't remember it being this bad in BL2.

The Guerillas in the Mist nerf makes me nervous. I'm level 35 and have been building to maximize the fade away skill. Increase damage, reduce cooldown, etc.. Hope this doesn't mess with that too much. I need all the help I can get.

I definitely noticed the menu being snappier on the PC last night and didn't have any weird glitches in it. I think the main game was a little smoother too.

That's a pretty big nerf to FL4K. I think I'll still do a tonne of damage but probably won't make bosses trivial anymore. My entire build is based around that. It's been a tonne of fun too.

On the other hand, ammo scarcity forces you to try out weapons of different types, e.g. replace you OOA assault rifle with a shotgun. It allowed me to explore more weapons and game styles and find some new favorites.

And yes, it does get better as you buy more storage space.

PSA: For users on the PC, disable the cloud saves to the Epic game store. Cloud saves randomly corrupts the save file.

If anyone knows how to be able to safely play Borderlands 3 on a gaming laptop and desktop PC I would appreciate any assistance. I have had my game corrupted twice.

I thought they fixed that?

Borderlands 3 issue
We have received reports of an issue with the Cloud Saves feature that can cause some players to lose their save data for Borderlands 3. We have identified the following chain of events that result in this issue:

You play on Machine A offline or with Cloud Saves not enabled.
You then play on Machine B online, realize your save from machine A has not transferred, and then quit the game.
Then, you swap back to play on Machine A online, pulling down the empty profile from Machine B.
When this happens, the screen pop-up shown above displays, to help resolve the conflict between the save states. However, we have identified a bug in which that screen is not always appearing.

We have shipped a hotfix that addresses this bug. This screen will help ensure players are able to choose their preferred and correct save states going forward.

I can't see seem to find the hotfix it's referencing, however.

If I'm understanding the question correctly, can't you just set up a Dropbox account to sync your save between your two devices?

If you don't mind me jumping into your game, I'll happily join up with you when I'm on!

Do you turn off in the epic launcher or in-game?

No they have not fixed the problem. Works great until it doesn't. And it ruins the save file on both PC's.

I had Epic Game Store's cloud saves enabled on both PC's. So the above doesn't apply. I used cloud saves like I have done for years with the Steam cloud.

You turn off the cloud saves in the Epic Games launcher settings.

Guerrillas in the Mist change really sucks just because it makes activating the skill incredibly short lived. Don’t feel like I’m doing enough of consequence. Also, I thought it was supposed to be lowered to 6 seconds but the skill description says 5 seconds.

And, done!
Definitely some cool bits in the campaign but it was too long.

Spoiler:

I would have missed out on Lilith's cool ending but it probably would be better if they had ended at the fakeout 4.... 3,2,1 after killing Troy. Also, Eden 6 should have been cut. It was good but it was way too long. The only interesting bits were in and underneath the mansion.

I had a level 21(?) elemental shotgun that I still use at 38 because it has a 30+ chance to do 300+ incendiary damage per second.

Totally disagree with all of this

[gloveslap]Torgue shotguns at dawn![/gloveslap]

lol what i do find annoying/bad is that they do force you to go through the story with each new character. It's definitely easier, but annoying.

Also... my bank has been completely emptied

I'm loving this game. It's derivative, some weird balance issues, menus are slow, glitchy, and has some narrative issues but I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Taking my time as I'm only about 3/4 of the way through the story at 60 hours. I've done very sidequest I've come across and found all of the challenges and I just returned to Pandora. Have been constantly switching out weapons and changing up what I'm using. Legendary drops have been regular for me and while I've found most of them underwhelming, the ones that I like tend to stick around.

Minor Eden-6 spoilers

Spoiler:

I really really like the interplay between Wainwright, Hammerlock, Aurelia, and Clay. It felt different than the usual stories and characters they come up with. There's some depth and nuance that is just really not present in the other parts of the game.

I'm not one for caring about optimizing builds or grousing over what the endgame offers. The journey has been great. I do wish there was more time spent on Athenas and there were more cityscape fights in Promethea. Borderlands 2 had very diverse areas that you spent too much time in. Borderlands 3 has you spending A LOT of time on Pandora and Eden-6 then pretty quick strolls through Athenas and Promethea.
