Apex Legends - Catch All

If you playing the game just to win you playing the wrong kinda game.
Have fun, mess sh*t up, f*ck with people rotating late

I think I'm doing OK at the game, better than I have in other BR games. Not sure if hit boxes in this are just a bit bigger though! I seem to be having my usual problem of getting plenty of hit points but no kills.

I'm enjoying things more than I should though, this has been 2019s first pleasant surpise!

No idea the validity of this. However, I would love if Duo's came. Duo's has always been my favorite in all BR's.

Duo's/Solo might be coming as per data mining.

Also, as I'm sure has been mentioned, the ping system is great. Has any other game done this? Sort of thinking about it, I can see it being a huge deal for multiplayer games going forward. It's the sort of innovation we'll take for granted in a few years time.

Battlefield had the spotting mechanic but that was only for communicating enemy positions.

There has never been a non-verbal communication system this robust and easy to use. Like you I can see this being copied a million times over. Then again I said the same thing about Shadow of Mordors Nemesis system.

Best before this was probably the L4D callouts.

The time has come: gas guy or hologram guy?

Flip a coin

Both of them are my two most played characters, but i think my favorite between the two is Mirage.

I just unlocked Caustic last night. I'm having fun with him. I've had some amount of success using his gas traps on early fights on the supply ship while scrambling for weapons. His ult is also a pretty nice way to begin an engagement. Just make sure you don't dump the gas all over your squad.

I'm holding all my money for when the pilot themed character comes out.

This is useful as well.

Good article on where the better known loot areas are

Also downloaded this on Origin so may pop on to Discord at some point. Onewild is my Origin username. Although given I'm terrible on controller, no doubt I will be worse with key board and mouse.

WASD plus mouse is where it is at, man!

Also, the Rivals tournament continues for another few hours or so.

chocoTaco's team still leads the NA bracket.

Still, I am really enjoying watching them tear it up.

Two wins last night with randos including one as kill leader (only 6 kills). If it can happen to me it could happen to anyone. I can confirm Spitfire is excellent and Mastiff does things.

This is a great video. Lots of good little tips. I've watched a few videos and most just cover the basics but he has some lesser known tips in this video.

Big ups to Ranalin and Escher for dragging me along to my first champion victory! We even did it twice in one night!

That's the dream.

If you quit your squad in Apex Legends as soon as you die, you are a bad person, especially if your squad has your banner and is taking it to a revive point.

Really enjoying it so far but noticed that the frequency of people just doing their own thing right from launch is increasing, which sucks. I get that some people just want to mix it up but it just messes up the round and I find there's a nice balance between people who like to jump into busy areas and those who like to get set first somewhere less populated, so if you stick with your team all the time you'll experience everything.

I'd really like to give the devs something but the cosmetics currently leave me completely underwhelmed. I'll pick up the first battlepass for sure though.

Yeah, the best thing I've done in this game so far was I was the random dude with a duo of Germans (they were on coms, no idea what they were saying) but both were killed and then I heroically got both their banners and got them back in the game. I mean we then all died like 3 mins later but still.

Likewise, if you shoot at an enemy across the map with your AR with a 4X scope revealing your squad's position (*raises hand*).

This has been a bit of a discipline/BR approach learning curve after 3 years of Overwatch "shoot what you see" and no BR time from other games. I totally understand the theory but ingrained instincts are tough to kick. I am getting there!

I had to learn a similar lesson, and really learn the range of the weapon I'm carrying.

Yeah, usual deal; first week folks were trying to play the game as designed, now the tire kickers are jumping in. Less willing to work as part of a team, increased chat toxicity, all the reasons why we can’t have nice things

I'm hoping the introduction of a singles mode will bring the threes back to normal a bit.

Addressed a number of stability and performance issues.

Fixed issue where players would get a gray screen in lobby when connecting for the first time.

I am terrible but having fun

Ditto.

But I'm not sure whether I have the patience to stick with it long enough to 'git gud'. My experience so far has been:

Land in an isolated spot;
Spend 8 minutes running behind my squad-mates picking up items;
Be discovered by another squad;
Fire a couple of rounds, doing minimal damage to my opponent;
Get obliterated in a few shots.

I think I've played 6 r 7 matches, and have achieved precisely no kills. I don't think I'll find that fun for long.

Same here. I tried it yesterday after Monday night Overwatch was completely dead (after a dead Friday). Played 4-5 games. It reminded me a lot of Battlefield which I never liked. Spawn, walk around for a few minutes, die to someone you never saw. I think in total I actually saw someone I was shooting at once. I spent several minutes just following someone else only to die instantly. I'm not an FPS newbie either. I've been playing FPS games since Doom game out in the early 90s and put in thousands of hours in TF2 and Overwatch.

It doesn't help that the audio separation seems to be all or nothing and everything has separation. Things seem to only come out one side of my headphones or the other. It's rather disorienting. Even at 1080P the game runs poorly for me. I will update my video drivers, see if there's a sound fix, and try again but this may not be the FPS I am looking for.

Um.. what?

Could be mistaken but my guess would be when you hit his ability (not super) you see clones where enemies in area were when you hit the ability for a few seconds. I am assuming they shortened how long you see them. Which honestly I am not sure is a nerf at all because after a second or two they can be so far from where you think they are.

Had quite a few people ask me about what I thought of weapons and I've been asking people so figured I'd give my thoughts. Obviously all this is just my opinion.

Bad Weapons - In no way do I think these are competitive.

All pistols other than Wingman - They just don't kill fast enough and other than right as you drop have not seen any viability late game
Devotion - This gun has three major issues in my opinion which combine to making the gun pretty bad in it's current state. This does not mean they need to fix all of them but combined they are too much. Even with the upgrade the charge up time is significant which hurts you if you do not start shooting first. The thing uses a lot of ammo and energy is the rarest of ammo's. The damage per bullet is pretty low.

Best weapons - I think these weapons just shine above the rest.

Spitfire - High damage per bullet, high magazine, low recoil. Good at close/medium ranges.
Carbine - High rate of fire, decent magazine size, low recoil. Good at close/medium ranges.

Situation/Skill based weapons

Triple Take (upgrade required)/Longbow/Wingman/Peacekeeper - All four of these are very good weapons. However, they require you to hit ~50% of your shots to really be worth your time. If you are sniping with any of these and hitting 20% you were probably better of getting closer or reposition or using and AR. These guns are 100% beasts when you hit, but you need to be honest to yourself if they are viable for you. Peacekeeper requires less of a hit % than the others here because how hard it hits.

All other weapons I would say are "good". They all have there situations or instances when they are good. They just seem to be out shined by spitfire/carbine. Flatline would be up at top but the low clip really hurts it.
