GWJ Game Streaming This Friday and Saturday For a Good Cause!

We're excited to kick off our first ever fundraising stream!

Where: The official GWJ Twitch Page

When: Friday, February 1st and Saturday, February 2nd from 10AM CST to 10PM CST

Why? To raise money for Trans Lifeline! They do incredible work supporting the Trans community and we're happy to support them on behalf of GWJ and our own Trans members. Every cent (other than transaction fees) will go to Trans Lifeline! The donorbox is already setup to receive donations so if you want to kick in ahead of time feel free! When the drive is complete we will post a total and send everything along to Trans Lifeline. We'll also post a receipt after for max transparency.

One game stream in particular you may want to check into ahead of time is McChuck's plan to run an AI simulated Royal Rumble in WWE 2K19 featuring various pop culture characters made in the character creator! Make your guess in the thread on who you think will win when the big day comes! Donors who give $10+ who also guess winner can also win a prize! More information and wrestler introductions here!

The games we'll be streaming are as varied as the wonderful volunteer streamers who will be playing them! Some of these games may change, especially for the longer streams as a change of pace.

Friday, February 1st

10AM CST to 2PM CST - Shawn Andrich

Shawn is already pretty stressed about playing Resident Evil 2 in front of people. ON HARD MODE. This may be a ruse so he doesn't have to play alone.

2PM CST to 5PM CST - Eleima Stargazer Plays Chuchel

Eleima is going to play this game ... which looks pretty wild. Here is the description: Join the hairy hero Chuchel and his rival Kekel on their quest to retrieve the precious cherry and face numerous puzzles and challenges! The reward? Cheerful situational humor, wild music and sounds by the band DVA and dozens of hilarious gags that warm up even the coldest of souls. Plus cherries!

5PM CST to 6PM CST - Shawn Andrich Plays Wargroove

After all that zombie killing something a little more colorful is in order. What better than a highly capable Advance Wars homage that launches this very day!

6PM CST to 8PM CST - Mike Chuck (McChuck) & Aaron Amendola

You'll want to get in on this one! Mike Chuck from Table Tanked, Mel Fox from Get Hype and Aaron Amendola from VStheUNIVERSE will be ringside announcing an AI run Royal Rumble using various pop culture characters made in the character creator! Guess which one will win the entire match! Win prizes! For more information you'll want to head over to the thread where you can get your vote in and be ready for the match!

8PM to 10PM CST - Amanda & Friends Play Monster Prom

Monster Prom is a unique dating sim that plays multiplayer! Join Amanda and pals as they try and find a date for the prom.

Saturday, February 2nd

10AM to 12PM CST - Shawn Andrich and Cory Banks Play Dark Souls 3

It's been a long time since Shawn and Cory first stepped into the original Dark Souls. Now they rise from the ashes to see if they remember which button attacks.

12PM to 2PM CST - Eleima Stargazer Plays Prey

A very good game. Eleima will be digging into Prey!

2PM CST to 4PM CST - Allen Cook Plays Classic PC Games

Allen is going to fire up his DOS emulator and take us on a tour of some classic games! Shawn is hoping his passive attempt to vote for Interstate 76 somehow pays off.

4PM CST to 5PM CST - Hypatian Plays Dandara

One of our GWJ mod team and a transgender woman herself, Hypatian will play Metroidvania style game Dandara!

5PM to 6PM CST - sometimesdee Plays Elite Beat Agents!

Another esteemed member of the GWJ mod team, sometimesdee is going to play the classic Elite Beat Agents!

6PM CST to 8PM CST - Sean Sands Plays Subnautica: Below Zero

Sean is going to play the new follow-up to the award winning Subnautica!

8PM CST to 10PM CST - Shawn Andrich Closes Out The Fundraiser

More Resident Evil 2? By then it's dark outside. *shudder*

Eleima is still considering what she'll play for sure, but given she mentioned Mass Effect, we'll just stick ol' Kaiden up there for now

IT'S KAIDAN!!!!! With an "a". Really, people.
Sorry, Certis, full day at work, I've settled on my choices with the help of Amanda and Pyxistyx. <3

I've started posting the Royal Rumble roster. They're introducing themselves over here: https://www.gamerswithjobs.com/node/...

This is awesome! I'm on GMT so I'll watch as much as I can. I've even bigged this up to my wife and convinced her to watch some with me...so everyone be cool, ok?

Also...did anyone else get a fright when they got the message from Certis? Felt like I was being called to the Principal's Office for a second...

Thanks for this Tormodh, that's a big help.

Donated! And I like nice, even numbers so kudos to whoever put that amount of change in their donation because you got me to go above what I planned on donating.

I’m willing to believe that conversion rates to blame for that.

That is very likely.

However, that seems to conflict with my “Stevio-centric” theory of reality so, I am afraid I will have to reject your reasoned assertion and go with my personality-based perspective instead.

I really don't think anyone else should be trying to view reality from my perspective. It barely makes sense for me to do that.

Wow! It was about $1600 when I went to bed. That's amazing, well done everyone!

I’ve donated £15 to Mermaids UK.

Come on folks, we're $300 from Sean playing and streaming 6 hours of Dark Souls … we can do it!

$110 to go

This was neat!

That was great. Had the stream on in the background all day and it was a good time throughout. And a cause that's so very worth the time and effort.

WE DID IT!!!

I can't believe we raised $6,057.81 for Trans Lifeline! So proud of our community!

Also very excited Sean Sands is going to stream Dark Souls. Not in my wildest dreams would this be the cherry on top of a wonderful couple days for the GWJ community doing amazing work. We'll do a proper wrap-up on the front page early next week, but thanks to all our amazing donors, wonderful streamers and participants in the Twitch chats!

INCREDIBLE! This is such a good thing for a great cause!

Completely selfish, but you all should stream more. I really enjoyed what I caught.

Waking up to the news that we’ve raised over six thousand dollars is the best Sunday morning news! This is amazing! Thank you everyone for donating and hanging out in chat and watching.
Bananas. Just bananas.

Edit: With 116 donations, we're currently at $6,126.81!!!! That's just amazing.

yay! congrats!

Well done, everyone! That total is amazing. I really enjoyed hanging out this weekend, and I look forward to catching up on the sessions that I missed.
