TRI.BE - Diamond
Pretty good. Not blowing me away but it's decent. I guess I shouldn't be too disappointed but I still am because I know they can do better.
Happy Throwback Thursday everyone, hope you're doing well. I'm featuring a personal favorite of mine this week for the throwback, but first we've got a new MV from IU! This is the fourth track from this EP to get an MV which means there's only one left; will there be one for the last song? Only time will tell.
IU (feat. Hyein and Wonsun Joe) - Shh..
We also got a performance video for TRI.BE's b-side track off their latest single, Diamond. Honestly, I actually like this song a lot more than Diamond although it does end a bit abruptly; I wish it was a little bit longer.
TRI.BE - Run
Okay, on to the throwback! This song is my favorite release from this group, which is saying a lot because they've put out a ton of songs and are one of the most successful groups ever. But this one is just my vibe. Please enjoy.
Girls' Generation - Mr. Mr.
This link seems to be the current working link for IU's Shh... video. Very beautiful song and video.
okay I fixed it, thanks! Still weird though, I wonder what happened...
Happy Throwback Thursday everyone! Got a fun one this week, but first I wanted to show this new video from a brand new group called Rescene. This is a pre-debut release (their debut is scheduled for the end of March) and the video is only about half the song but it gives you a feel for whether or not you are gonna like it; the full song is on iTunes, Spotify and YouTube music if you're interested. Check it out!
Rescene - YoYo
Okay, on to the throwback! I talked about this group a bit back in August of last year; this song is actually the first one that caught my attention. It's pretty great! I think the horns and percussion really stand out (aside from the vocals, obv) and give the song a bit of a big band feel, and the styling of the members in the video is also leaning into that sound with its retro vibe. Please enjoy.
Spica - You Don't Love Me
Happy throwback Thursday! I'm running late today, so I'm gonna keep it brief. This week will be 10 years since this song was released. It's one of the weirder concepts for a sub-unit and for a video, but still a classic. I did notice that the MV does not have the iconic 'HA' shouts at the beginning though, so I included an extra video that has a supercut of them from their performances on various music shows. Please enjoy!
Orange Caramel - Catallena
I know they aren't Korean, but the most adorkable, non-Jpop group in all of Jpop are apparently doing the theme for the new Ghostbusters movie. Atarashii Gakko! is their name and they have some certified bangers.
I just watched this pre-release video from a new group and thought it was pretty good so I'm sharing.
VVUP - Doo Doom Chit
P.S. the pronunciation of the name of the group is 'vee vee up'
NiziU - Sweet Nonfiction
Happy Throwback Thursday! And I guess happy White Day as well, if you're into that sort of thing. I believe we're caught up on releases so I'm gonna jump right into the throwback. When this song/MV came out, I think it took a lot of people by surprise with it's sound and aesthetic. It's a pretty big departure from what the group had been doing previously, IMO, and it actually takes a bit of time for the song to hook you in; it's kind of minimal and even discordant in the beginning (kinda reminds me of Billlie's Ring X Ring in that way). But eventually by the end of the first chorus it comes together and I think it's one of the group's classics. Please enjoy!
f(x) - Red Light
Apink's Namjoo has put out a solo release, and it's pretty good! Got a good tempo and lots of horns; kinda reminds me of some of EXID's songs a bit.
Kim Namjoo - Bad
Happy Throwback Thursday everyone, hope you're doing well. I believe we're all caught up on new releases so let's get right into it. Today is not only a throwback in the traditional sense, but also a throwback for this thread. This artist was featured on the very first page of this thread posted back at the end of 2018, but that was not her first solo release. After going on hiatus for 3 years from her group, she released a solo EP before rejoining the group and then, after the group officially disbanded, resumed her solo activities in 2017. But this song is the title track from that first EP and it's pretty great. Not only that, but it is a collaboration with Brave Brothers (I mentioned them in conjunction with AOA a few weeks back). I think the other single off of this EP is perhaps more iconic for her, but this song has more views on YouTube so it's kind of a toss-up. Anyway, please enjoy!
Sunmi - Full Moon
Happy Throwback Thursday everyone, and thanks to Tscott for the new release updates! Every time I plan to come in and post about one I see it's already taken care of; he must wake up much earlier than I do. Anyway, we can get right to the throwback! I posted about the group Secret and their song 'Poison' a bit over a year ago, but this throwback is a solo release from one of that group's members that came out a few months after what would end up being the group's final promoted single. After 'Poison', nothing really hooked me from the group, but this song really grabbed me. It's not perfect; there's definitely sections I would change/remove from the song but overall the vibe and hook are strong. Also, Hyoseong is fine asf. Please enjoy!
Jun HyoSeong - Goodnight Kiss
