NFL 2018: Week 13

Was anyone actually watching the game?

I only turned it on for the last minute of half and watched the Captain Marvel trailer then back off.

A Joe Flacco fan friend of mine actually tried to blame his performance on Baltimore's receivers and defense.

This was my reply.

Someone desperately needs to convert this Tom Coughlin MP4 to a GIF.

I swear he's yelling "six whole points!"

Bills cut Kelvin Benjamin.

That other guy does the most awkward non-committal ...embrace? ...I've ever seen.

That's Tony Khan, son of owner Shad Khan, and the "analytics guy" of the Jags organization (also technically co-owner of the team, I guess pops gave him a percentage of ownership).

He reminds me of Ryan from the The Office.

Seriously, though, KB13 is literally the worst WR in the NFL. Or was, until this afternoon.

I see we're going to get some mileage out of this GIF.

Everything Kelvin Benjamin did in a Bills uniform makes me think the story of him saying "no" to Josh Allen asking to practice routes at warmups is 100% true.

Hence my request. It's a keeper!

Meanwhile in unrelated long-snapper news, the 49ers special teams center Kyle Nelson has been suspended 10 games. No reason given (yet). I'm guessing he burned a flag at midfield during halftime to warm up his Baked Bald Eagle leftovers.

Homicide's worth, only, what, an eight-game suspension?

Ouch on Crabtree YAC on that stat sheet: 2.6 actual, 4.5 expected (wonder how they calculate that, speed?, athleticism?)

edit: Wow, a TE has the highest separation? And this 49er Kittle must be a monster!

Pretty much has to be repeat violation of substance use, it's the only thing that falls in that gap between beating the sh*t out of women (2-6 games) and kneeling during the anthem (career).

Kittle is the next Gronkowski/Kelce. People just aren't going to notice until San Francisco starts winning games. (Well except for fantasy players who know all about him already)

He's a little bit smaller than those guys, but faster than them (4.52 40).

In Iowa he was used as a blocking tight end. Don't know what the hell they were doing. The 49ers noticed him mainly because they were closely scouting his college QB, Beat Hard.

I guess 6'4" 249lbs is "small" for a TE, heh (for reference I am 6'3" 238... 273 at my heaviest)
I have never been anywhere near 4.52 40. I mean I guess unless you count watching on tape.

I mean, it's around average for the position, just not Gronkowski size (6'6", 265). But most 250lb TEs don't run as fast as Kittle either.

Best draft pick of the Lynch/Shanahan regime so far. PFF's 4th highest ranked TE.

An update: NFL puts ref Roy Ellison on administrative leave after Jerry Hughes allegation.

The NFL suspended Ellison for a game in 2013 because he used abusive language toward a player. And Ellison had previously been warned about using abusive language toward players after a prior allegation. So this is at least the third time such an incident has taken place.

Kotaku is reporting that Kareem Hunt is being removed from Madden 19.

Skins won't sign Kaep because they have thrown in towel

Wouldn't the most Redskins thing ever be if they traded a pick to the Ravens to get RG3 back?

What if Kaep won't play for a franchise with a slur as their team name?

The thought had occurred to me.

Like they would ever have gotten to the point of even talking to him. They noped out on him a couple years ago, like all the other teams.

The offensive performances in the Colts/Jags game were so epic that PFF's highest graded offensive player in the game was...

guess...

Spoiler:

Ereck Flowers

Yeah, I had him on my MUT team, and even for that they ghosted him. His card has no picture, and they changed his uniform number from 27 to 25. All of the card's skills and boosts are still the same, so you can roll on if you want.

I had already begun the process of replacing him, selling off some cards and doing some challenges to raise the gold to buy a new HB from the auction house. I did not feel like rolling with Hunt on my team, so I went old school and bought a Legend LaDainian Tomlinson card. So my HB has the same skillset, but it actually better in every category.

What sucks is that they also made the generic card non-auctionable, ineligible for any sets, and you can't trade it in for training. So the card is just sunk cost, and there is no function to delete it from your collection. Even just getting a some training points would have been nice.

I also saw that he just disappeared from the offline game, too. I'll have to look and see if he is gone from the solo franchises I had started. I don't really do franchise play anymore, so that won't be a big deal either way, to me. I'd cut him if he was still on there. I mostly play MUT and Play Now (which has an option to play each week's games with current rosters, depth charts, stats, and commentary updated weekly to give a feel of a midseason game.
