There's also some really fascinating research into people who are the opposite: products they buy tend to fail and so they're predictors of products that won't be successful.
That’s a Cooler. Someone who sucks away the hotness.

That's me! Just now finally cutting ties with TiVo. Still miss my Windows Phone. Still believe that MLB 2K was better than The Show. Rooted for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles to get renewed over Dollhouse. Even my favorite toothpaste has bit the dust, as I can't find Listerine toothpaste anywhere anymore.
Based on my GOTY nominations, me too!
Has anyone figured out the byzantine algorithm by which the PC Games Pass app sorts it's list of installed games?
Has anyone figured out the byzantine algorithm by which the PC Games Pass app sorts it's list of installed games?
The icons on the left side? Isn't it just order of installation but you can freely reorder it by dragging?

Unless you're displaying "Installed Games" instead of "All Games", in which case it doesn't make a lick of sense, and can't be manually reordered.

I'm sure it's sorted on something perfectly logical like UUID of the game in their database....
On the Gamepass side of things: I'm going to give Monster Hunter World a shot. TheWalt hunts monsters, and I've often thought it looked fun. I'm also told that while it looks similar to Dark Souls, they have little in common. I tried a demo some time back that did nothing for me, but watching a stream if it at the Mixer booth at PAX South has inspired me to give it another chance.
Canceled TV shows I have loved:
Firefly
Almost Human
Limitless
The Good Cop (just learned about this today)
...I know there are more, but those came to me immediately.

The only similarity between them lies in the deliberate, animation priority combat. Even there, Monster Hunter is much heavier in this direction than even Dark Souls.
Unfortunately, Monster Hunter has never been a series that demos well. You need to put in a few hours minimum before you can get a grasp on what combat is supposed to feel like. If it clicks for you, you'll know it. A big part of that is finding a weapon that suits you. There are 14 of them, and each of them plays completely differently from the rest.
I tried Monster Hunter World, and, while it was fun, it was more of a time commitment than I could handle. I'd need to spend a solid hour sometimes finding and fighting a monster, and I just don't have the time I used to for things like that. I also suck at timing in combat, so I'd often fail after all that.
I’m really enjoying Children of Morta. I tried it because it was recommended here and elsewhere on GWJ. Thanks for the recommendation!
I’m trying to stick to small play sessions and it mostly works well for that as long as I have at least half an hour per session (runs tend to take that long).
In the past I’ve been burned out on rogue-lite games as they tend to have a lot of grind per unit of progress but Morta hasn’t had that problem so far. Every session I make some progress (even if it’s just a persistent upgrade to help with future sessions).
I’m playing on PC but this feels like a game that would have fit the Switch very well or would have been great to play streamed to a phone so I can play away from my desk.
Its been on Switch since Nov 20th according to Nintendo's site
(I cant tell from your post if you were implying it was a missed opportunity on the devs part or if you would preferred to own it on Switch over PC)

I noticed it was on other platforms but I never would have got around to trying it if it wasn’t on game pass. Now that I’ve tried it I want it handheld.I’m not going to buy it on Switch after I’ve made so much progress on PC but I might try playing it on my Windows tablet (with attached controller) to get a more Switch-like experience. I really want to be able to stream game pass games to my phone so I can play this sort of game no matter where I am in my house. I should look around to see if anyone has figured out how to do that.
On iOS there's the Steam Link app which I used to play Slay the Spire. It wasn't too bad with touch controls but a little clunky from a touch-screen-emulating-mouse perspective. Performance was good.
You have to be on the same WiFi network as your steam box, just like regular Steam Streaming.

Can you stream non-Steam games over that? I’ve used it for Steam games but didn’t occur to me to try to launch other games with it.
I have tried that with mixed results. No for Xbox Game Pass because of things Microsoft did. No way to untangle that for what I could tell.
I think if they don't have DRM you can but its going to be a game-by-game crapshoot.

Nvidia game streaming (using Moonlight on the phone) is another option that is very game specific as the game has to be recognized by the Geforce Experience app and many aren’t.
I’m looking forward to the feature of xcloud where it lets you stream your own Xbox games to your phone but I wish it also allowed streaming Xbox game pass games from PC.

You can manually add games to the GeForce Experience app. For GamePass games, you have to create a desktop shortcut and then add that shortcut to GeForce Experience.
Another tip ... if you're streaming a non-steam game through Nvidia game streaming and using a controller, exit out of Steam first. Otherwise, Steam will intercept your controller input and make it very flaky. I'm sure there's a setting within Steam to disable whatever it's doing, but it's easier to just close it first.
Edit: Also, you can't create a desktop shortcut from within the GamePass launcher itself. Instead, drag the program from the start menu to the desktop.
Just wrapped up up A Plague Tale last night. It was pretty solid!
I was planning on taking a break from gaming at home for a bit to get started on another project. Then I saw that Shadow of the Tomb Raider is now on the leaving soon list. That's one of the games I was psyched to play. So now I have to decide if I want to try and blitz through Tomb Raider in the next two weeks, or just buy it later. And there's the down side of Game Pass.
I played Shadow of the Tomb Raider on Game Pass, and it was worth the time, but that's it. I gave up on the idea of going 100% probably about half-way through, even though I collected everything in the first one. No intention of ever going back. Not sure if that helps, but that's how it went for me.
Both Rise and Shadow had collectibles that didn't show up on the map, so without a guide I wasn't going to get 100% on either of those. I enjoyed getting as far as I did (98 or 99% i think) in both, though, and Shadow overall is a great game with a big focus on exploration, and not nearly as much combat as the previous two.
I started up Shadow last night, and I was real happy that there were different settings for combat, traversal, and puzzles. I dropped combat down to easy immediately. I was going to bump puzzles up, but it looks like the main difference for that and traversal are that they remove highlighting for interactible areas and things, either by taking out the white marks on grabbable terrain or not highlighting them in Batman vision. I decided to leave them on normal because it's already hard enough telling what's something I can interact with and what's just scenery or a prop.
I know I probably won't be able to finish before it vanishes, so I probably won't sock a ton of time into it, but it definitely is pretty.
I played a few hours of Indivisible. It’s one of the new additions. The art and animation are gorgeous. The voice work is great. Sadly, the story and gameplay are middling. It’s a good game, but I don’t think I’ll play any further.
It’s a 2D side scrolling RPG. The story is a simple you killed my father revenge quest. The gameplay consists of good but basic platforming interspersed with combat encounters. Once you enter combat it turns into a button combo thing. It turned out to be very similar to the Tony Hawk button combo system, to the point where I didn’t even have to look at the screen to win the battles.
If you love 2D hand drawn graphics then you should check it out. It really is very pretty.
I’m looking for a comprehensive list of all the game pass games which have been removed. Trying to free up HDD space. My google skills failed me. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Not certain this works, but wouldn't filtering on "installed games", then attempting to launch each one in the list self-assemble that list?

Yeah. That’s probably the best way to go about it. I was averse to the vagueness of how MS handled that, though. If I try to launch a game that has been removed from game pass, it gives me a message saying, “you don’t have the rights to launch this game. if you want to buy this game it will cost xx.xx.” I would rather it said something like, “This game has been removed from game pass. If you want to play this game then you need to buy it.” But I see your point.
Thanks

I heard of this game by Jeff Cannata on his podcast (DLC) and I am very intrigued and like the description of the game/systems, I'll try it out... its "free" with my GamePass...
From what I watched of Indivisible, the combat gets a lot faster and more enjoyable the better you get at performing combos.
Is Indivisible basically just a new take on Valkyrie Profile? That's what it looks like from screenshots.
I haven't played Valkyrie Profile, but I have heard that exact comparison made between the two games several times.
