Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders, the skiing sequel to Downhill, is going to be on GamePass at launch next week.
I haven't tried any of the betas or demos but I like that they seem to have tried to give the game a different twist (you can do tricks, race against each other, and it has a different camera perspective) instead of just slapping a winter theme on the same game. I'm looking forward to it.
Thanks for the heads up! I played a bunch of Downhill and this looked like it added a little bit more depth + multi.
I finally jumped on installing Manor Lords.
Oh my, this game is gorgeous and addictive. There was quite the update recently and although quite a few ingame systems aren't balanced or implemented, it's really fun.
ML completely derailed by Elin marathon. I'll get back to the latter but for now all those juicy resources need to be harvested!
The latest update moved from Unreal Engine 4 to 5, so that'll be huge. I've been meaning to check it out again, although I'm not particularly happy about the addition of combat since I last played it.
It is forcing my GPU to work hard though. Only game the fan has had to overrev. I think I will be reducing some of the settings tonight.
You can play the initial difficult template where there's no combat at all!
Looks like I made the right call in picking Tales of Arise as my focus last month thinking it would be leaving this month. It's leaving February 15th.

Yeah, I took a break at what I think seems to be a pretty clear midpoint in the story. Was enjoying it quite a lot but unfortunately I kept putting it off and now I've missed the chance to beat it. Would probably buy it on sale in the future. I enjoyed the setting and story, where it missed for me was the combat.

The combat is weirdly easy to button mash, but feels like it's supposed to be slower and more considered, especially when using the shield character.
EDIT: The final area REALLY leans into utilizing your boost attacks at the right time, dodging to avoid damage/build up overlimit. I'm higher level and only using them a little bit and the more I lean into these extra systems, the easier / quicker the fights go.
