Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC, and Android

It (Hi-Fi Rush -clarifying for new page) is indeed going to be the best surprise game of the year.

  • The Last Kids on Earth (Cloud, Console, and PC)

Does anyone know if PC gamepass "preview games" (ie, early access) games stay on the service after they go 1.0? I haven't been able to find anything on it. I've been enjoying Everspace 2, but since progress will be wiped on full release I stopped and now tempted to buy on steam at EA price...

I don't think it's written anywhere that they will stay but I also can't think of an example where the game hasn't stayed. I started playing Prodeus the other day, which is an example of that.

Apparently the Dune 4X from Shiro Games got significantly updated over the holiday break so I'm thinking of dipping into the EA soon.

They also just added Mount & Blade 2. I've seen some pretty cool looking videos and various mods on YT so keen to build a rabble of mercenaries and play it out real time instead of turn based like Battle Brothers.

I'm very interested to see what my console brethren make of M&B2.

  • Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (Console and PC)
  • Madden NFL 21 (Console and PC) EA Play
  • Octopath Traveler (Cloud, Console, and PC)

Also of note, Atomic Heart is available as of today

I'm liking Atomic Heart so far. It's like...whoever created Bioshock decided to take advantage of all the latest graphics stuff, take slightly less drugs and be slightly less depressed (and creepy), have a super fun time with world creation, and make mechanics much easier and less about the mechanics.

That may or may not have made great sense.

Also, keep in mind, I played and liked all three Bioshock games.

Here are the games leaving on March 15:

F1 2020
Kentucky Route Zero
Young Souls
Undertale
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
Paradise Killer
Zero Escape: The Nonary Game
Goat Simulator

Paradise Killer and Kentucky Route Zero were both on my list to play...

Valheim arrives on March 14th.

Hoping that the controller stuff will be less finicky than the mouse about the whole snapping to building objects mechanic.

Yikes. Great games leaving and entering this month.

I wholeheartedly recommend playing Paradise Killer before it leaves. It's a game in the same vein or genre as Danganronpa but with less pervy anime vibes but still really weird and horny characters. Instead of solving a series of murders, you just solve one big case. The exploration is a lot more open, more like playing an FPS game. The mechanics of the trial are very unique and people either hate or love that part, but I thought was great. And even if you don't find the ending satisfying, the road to it is totally worth it.

Also recently noted, Ghostwire: Tokyo is coming to Xbox Game Pass April 12, complete with the new Spider’s Thread update.

Oh man, I loved Iron Brigade. I thought it was delisted.

I may boot that up just to see how it holds up.

Iron Brigade had such a fabulous aesthetic. Played the hell out of it. Guessing it doesn't hold up hugely well, but it's definitely going to be worth a re-install.

Microsoft owns DoubleFine, now.

I think I'm going to be waiting a while on Redfall. Given all the headlines lately, it must be coming in extremely hot. I would not be surprised if it has a lot of technical issues to work out. Also, campaign progression only applying to the host seems like a dealbreaker for multiplayer. Hopefully they can fix that in post as well.

I was very interested in Benedict Fox when it was announce last year, but I did not have a positive impression of the demo during Steam Next Fest a few months ago.

Holler if people want to get an Iron Brigade group going one night. It holds up pretty well.

I will absolutely holler for that; I fired it up last night, and, sure, it's a relic of the "tower defense + action game" moment in time it's from, but I still had a good time, and I'd forgotten about the most important feature in using your triggers to point or salute while on the ship. It's still high quality, top notch pointing and saluting.

I'm super excited for Cassette Beasts that looks really fun.

Why not? It's been a million years but I had fond memories of Iron Brigade / Trenched.

Of course. Just started playing Dragon Quest Builders 2 and it's leaving. Much sadness.

Although I haven't touched my account recently, my boy has played a LOT of M&B2. At least the sub is getting used!

Given Shiro Games has Dune on the Games Pass, I'm hoping Microsoft add Wartales soon as that just came out of EA.

Cool - i am open tonight (April 20th) around 8. Just let me know! Alternatively will be around this weekend.

Redfall's first few minutes were not super impressive. It felt like it wasn't sure whether it wanted to be Far Cry or Agents of Mayhem, and chose Agents.

Yeah, Redfall is . . . fine. It's not bad, but it feels pretty standard, and I expect it to fall into the whole Outriders "class-based FPS with abilities fun enough to finish once" category. Nice sense of style, gunplay is adequate, like moving through the town. Enemies are dumb as rocks and will miss you with automatic weapons fire from 20 feet away while you hit them three times with a pistol, vampires seem scary until you realize a shotgun or a stake thrower are basically "solve the problem" weapons, risk on the suggested difficulty is almost nonexistent.

Not what I was hoping for, but, well, seems like disappointment with AAA games is standard fare these days. I'll keep playing it with friends, but it's not going to have much in the way of legs.
