Kind of excited for Shipbreaker and Slime Rancher 2 on Series X.

Anyone playing Metal: Hellsinger? I've got no one on my Xbox friends list to score chase which makes me sad. I would like to fix this.

Finally!!! Paw Patrol - Grand Prix!

I've been curious about Moonscars, so glad to see that on there.

I loved the first Slime Rancher, so I'm very excited to play the sequel eventually, but I believe this is just the early access launch. I'll likely wait until it officially releases to dive in.

Beacon Pines is the big one for me. My son will be jumping into Slime Rancher 2, and we'll probably play SpiderHeck for as long as it takes me to get irritated (so, about five minutes).

Farley, I'm sure you're being sarcastic about Paw Patrol, but those games are awesome for very small children as an entry into video games.

Quite a long list of games leaving on the 30th:
AI: The Somnium Files (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Astria Ascending (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Dandy Ace (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Dirt 4 (PC) EA Play
Dirt Rally (PC) EA Play
Going Under (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Lemnis Gate (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Slime Rancher (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Subnautica: Below Zero (Cloud, Console, and PC)
The Procession to Calvary (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Unsighted (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Visage (Cloud, Console, and PC)

I just. I just finished preloading. I just finished. I. I just. I just finished preloading. I just finished preloading DEATHLOOP.

Biggest tip is don't play it like Dishonoured. You're given the kit and tools to be a gun blasting, power wielding badass. Use them!

You beat me to this post.

If I manage to find the time for it, I'll give it a shot, but I should probably at least finish Neon White first.

Of the games leaving, Unsighted gets my top recommendation for everyone. Dirt Rally is good, but it's a rally sim so it's appeal is limited.

I poked at it a bit. Will probably play some more

Aw, dang it! Unsighted is a great Metroidvania-like. More people should play that game. I should try to finish that game before month-end.

Seeing that the spooky season is fast approaching - and for some of my neighbors and nearby businesses, it has already arrived - I'll just point out that Dead By Daylight is on Gamepass (I believe both Xbox and PC). Some friends and I play a lot this time of year, so feel free to friend me up and join in! We use Xbox party chat for comms, although we have talked about checking out the new ability to use Discord on Xbox.

Dear Microsoft,

Please stop asking me if I want to give a game permission to access my account info when I first launch it.

Yours truly, really, I mean it,

The letter I wrote had much more swearing in it, but a similar sentiment.

The procedure wouldn't be quite so bad if I could click "accept" by pressing the A button on my controller, AND have it actually return window focus to the game. I can't tell you how many times I've clicked "accept" and then had the game's intro sequence start playing in a hidden (full-screen) window.

Still, it's a small price to pay for an otherwise excellent subscription service.

You all laugh about Paw Patrol racing, but....we'll be playing it in my house.

Microsoft keeps sending me reminders that my Game Pass Ultimate subscription is going to expire. I have a thing on the Dashboard, I've gotten notifications, and emails. My Game Pass subscription doesn't expire until September 17th, 2024.

Have put a couple hours into Slime Rancher 2. It's more slime rancher! (for better and for worse).

Same thing that bothered me in Slime Rancher 1 is still here: you're limited in the number of slimes you can get by the total number of plots in your base. And with the reliance on multiple food types/storage/etc basically you have room for 3-4 food growing plots (since some of the exotic food takes you almost 10-15 minutes to haul your character out into the wild and back again) and 3-4 Slime plots. Which basically I guess means I'm going to try to create 3-4 pens of hybrid slimes of the exotic types? I don't know. I really enjoy it and am having fun but it definitely feels more derivative than iterative.

Ok, so it is going to expire.

I couldn't get into it. I'd like to be able to demo Evil Dead, I think it's similar to Dead by Daylight?

I thought I read something about Evil Dead splitting the difference between Dead by Daylight and Left 4 Dead? Or maybe I've gotten some wires crossed...

Evil Dead, as I understand it, is much more like Left 4 Dead (1st person) than Dead by Daylight (3rd person perspective). Not sure about the types of gameplay.

I wasn't talking about the camera. Evil Dead has some guns and some zombie hordes like L4D, but I think it also has gathering and repair mechanics kinda like DbD. Just not sure what the balance between the two is.

I'm a bit confused by the rolling subscription costs. I've cancelled 2-3 times now (not enough time in the day to play all these games), and the last two times I've resubbed, it's only cost me a dollar.

Is there a criteria for this? Should I cancel and resub frequently?

Alternatively, has it just not picked up that I'm signed in and is offering me the new-subscriber bonus? This seems unlikely as I am signed in with the app and it goes straight to Paypal.

I've been doing exactly that since sometime last fall. For a while they were even giving me two bonus months along with the $1 paid month.

Protip: After you resub for $1 you can go into your Account settings and immediately disable the recurring billing. You'll still get to use Game Pass for the month, and you won't have to worry about getting charged for a full price renewal. Then the next time the Xbox app lets you know that your sub has expired, you can do it all again. PC Game Pass for $12 per year (or less, with bonuses) is excellent.

That sounds like a massive oversight on their behalf. I wonder why that's happening, and why it hasn't been fixed.

Oh well, no complaints from me...Billion(s) dollar corporation don't need the extra $11 from me!
