Playstation 4 Catch-All

Ok so we have been a predominantly Xbox household, we have 4 XB1s in various rooms for reasons and the game sharing in our household has been flawless. We have one PS4 hooked up to the 4K tv and now between Spider-Man and the PSVR, our Xboxi are basically just Netflix streaming boxes, all gaming is on the PS4 these days.

I’m thinking about picking up another PS4 so I can get access to the good tv and actually get to use the PSVR again. Does the game sharing over the home network work as seemlessly on the PS4?

Aw only works for US/Canada accounts

The what?

Thanks for the link. I didn't receive it.

In 2018 I or other people in my house played 43 different games on my PS4.

Top three:

130 hours in Fallout 76
86 hours in Little Big Planet 3
62 hours in Horizon Zero Dawn

521 total hours of gameplay.

398 hours locally, 123 hours online and 0 hours in VR-- not sure how that works, since I have 130 hours in Fallout 76 which can only be played online.

Longest streak: 7 hours.

Days played in 2018: 153 out of 365, mostly on Sundays (must be by hours, since there are only 52 sundays in a year)

Between us all we earned 142 trophies.

We downloaded 71 playstation plus games, and saved $32.99 in sales and discounts (probably because we still buy physical copies of everything that has physical copies)

Sony calls me a "Masterful Adventurer."

FYI- The link wasn’t working for me, but I just got the email yesterday... so maybe my stats weren’t “ready” yet.

Thanks for sharing the link, I never received an email. My stats:

21 different games in 2018
93 hours on Red Dead 2 (I assume this includes some idle time, but maybe not?)
38 hours on Vampyr
35 hours on Spider-Man (I'm surprised that's not a bit higher)

I'm surprised God of War doesn't show up on the list...I have to imagine it was #4 and with something like 34 hours.

246 hours of gameplay, 245 of which were spent "locally" with just 1 hour online (RDR online). 6 hours in VR also seems a little low but not implausible. My longest gaming streak was 5 hours, which makes me miss the days before I had kids Played most in evenings and on Sundays. 188 trophies, incl. 2 platinum and 13 gold.

I thought the month-by-month playtime breakdown was interesting. Basically I only played my Playstation meaningful amounts in May-June (God of War and Vampyr) and September-December (Spider-Man and Red Dead 2). Since getting my Xbox One X, my PS4 is going to be exclusively for Sony exclusives/PSVR/anything of interest free on PS Plus, so I bet my numbers dip a lot in 2019.

Mine says I played 205 hours in November, 139 in December. All I played in both months was RDR2, yet it shows 157 hours in RDR2.

It also shows my third most-played game to be VA-11 HALL-A at 145 hours. I've downloaded it on the Vita, but haven't even hit the icon to actually install it yet, and have definitely not played it.

I don't think they're very good at statistics.

Clearly someone else is using your account.

I'm having an issue with my ps4, when I go into the library and click on a game, it just goes to a blank loading screen and nothing happens, I can back out main dashboard without issues. It doesn't matter if the game is installed or not. PS store works and I can download specific titles without issues. I have tried restarting and powering off and back on, no change.

Edit: I also tried completely unplugging the console for a few min.

Does this affect games on your dashboard, or only games in the library?

I’ve noticed that if the network connection isn’t great (regardless of whether the store works) then I won’t be able to access games that aren’t on the front page of my dashboard until the connection improves.

Have you tried rebooting your router? If that doesn’t work it might be an issue with Sony’s servers.

If you select a game from the library it's not trying to load the game, it starts trying to load some page for the game. If you were on the dashboard, it's what would be visible if you clicked down beneath the game's icon.

Try clicking the options button over the game and seeing if there's an option to start the application.

All the games on the dashboard work fine, the page below the game on the dashboard does not load ether. I tried running Rocket League to test network connection and it seems to be working normal.

I can launch a game from the options button in the library.

I will try that tonight, it has been a few years since Ive swapped hard drives, its gotta be due anyways

Edit: that did the trick, thanks!

Glad it worked. I hadn't done mine in over a year, so I went ahead and did it myself after thinking of it. I haven't really noticed any difference, but I haven't noticed it breaking anything, so hopefully my PS4's drive is a little happier now.

This is the first year I've been able to see the summary...

647 total hours clocked (up from 2017)
Top Games:
- Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls (82 hrs)
- Soulcalibur 6 (22 hrs)
- Nioh (16 hrs)

Top Genres: RPG & Fighting
Longest Gaming Streak: 4 hours
Prime Gamng Hours: Evening
Prime Day: Sunday
Trophies Earned: 55

I am really surprised at the Soulcalibur 6 number as it felt like I barely played that thing. Nioh makes sense since I went back to complete the epilogue to unlock NG+ as well as some dithering around in the DLC.

I’ve started getting system crashes with the error - CE-36329-3

Is my system dying? If I decide to back it up and restore it that requires an external drive, right?

There's a free trial of Tetris effect on PS4 over the weekend.

Try this out and see if it helps.

I feel like I’ve seen the system to do this on it’s own a couple times after crashes. Or maybe it’s a different process.

When the system crashes, it does a data integrity check, but that's different from rebuilding the database.

Okay. Shoot. I was looking forward to an excuse to get a PS4 Pro. Maybe I still will...

I'm not crazy about the Pro. I don't think it's that great of an upgrade, but if you want one...

My main interest is more stable framerates on Shadow of the Colossus and Last Guardian. Also the possibility of playing Just Cause 4. But yeah, I understand many games don't benefit.

Shadow of the Colossus is gorgeous on the Pro.

The only reason I have a pro is because that's what the Kingdom Hearts 3 branded edition was for.
That said, I like it so far. Bloodborne didn't seem to benefit from it, but that's fine, maybe Spider-Man will.

Sony actually pulled their PS4 Pro Enhanced list from both the store and their website, so it's harder to tell now what does and what doesn't benefit, but yeah: Spider-Man gets a nice upgrade from it, but Bloodborne was never patched to add Pro support.

I had this exact problem last week. It turned out that it was caused by turning off the PS4 without exiting the game I was playing. Starting up the game and then quitting it fixed the issue for me. It only affected my main account, as the sub accounts I have were able to run anything.
