Playstation 4 Catch-All

Has anyone created a catch-all for Ghost of Tsushima yet? I’ve just realised it’s coming out soon and I couldn’t find one.

Just made one.

Shameless and desperately reposting.

May not be the right place for this (and please move if there is a better spot).

My PS4 controllers won’t sink anymore. I have a Launch PS4, two different controllers with the same problem.

The controllers will turn on the console and then do nothing else, and flash light blue. If I hard reset the console with the controller plugged in while it reboots, then they will work, but only until they go to sleep or the console turns off. Then it’s back to the blinking blue light. I tried resetting the controllers, but I am still having the same issue. I have even tried to plus them in and play wired but I get the same error.

I have experienced this with both controllers and have tried multiple cables. My first thought is it is the Bluetooth on the console, but why can I use the controllers to turn it on?

Anyone have any ideas?

I had a problem with both my PS4 controllers recently. I had linked them to my Steam Link. Getting them back was a challenge. I think I googled the official method for linking, and even then it took a couple of tries. It definitely wasn't as easy as using a cable, which was the first thing I tried.

Keep trying different USB cables - apparently many will not work for PS4 data.

Also make sure to try all (both?) of the USB ports on the PS4.

And try the hard PS4 reset (#3 from here).

If the controller doesn't work even while plugged in via USB, then it's definitely not a Bluetooth issue, assuming you're using a good data-capable USB cable.

Maybe. As I understand it, by default, the console will still communicate with the controller via Bluetooth even when plugged in unless you specify to use the wired connection in the settings. It's weird.

Yeah that's definitely an option in settings.

An option you can't reach without a working controller!

You can use a USB keyboard.

You can also use remote play if you have a device previously configured with your console.

You can also use the Second Screen app on a mobile device.

You could also try bribing the PlayStation gnomes that live in your console.

I too had a devil of a time repairing the controller after I had paired it with a shield
TV unit. Took a few hard resets of the controller and then connecting via USB cable to the PS4 to resynch.

Thanks for the tips. The problem is that I haven’t paired them with anything else. But I did move 12 hours. If that matters?

When I get some time, I will try the factory reset and putting a USB keyboard on it. Wish me luck.

Update: I formatted the PlayStation and now both controllers work. Thanks for the tips!

This is the second time this pandemic that I have had to save my PS4 From the brink. Somehow, I managed to fix my disk drive earlier, and now this weird software Bluetooth interrupting thing. I guess I’m going to get a launch consul again!

Have you considered a job in IT?

1. The reason I am primarily a console gamer is to not deal with this sh*t.

2. You hiring? Know a guy?

To be fair, if you got a launch edition ps4, you had almost 7 years of solid gaming out of it.

I have a weird thing going on with my account. I have active subscriptions to both PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now, but PS+ has completely disappeared from my subscriptions list. If I go to the subscription management page on PSN, I only see PS Now.

Those of you with PS+, do you see your subscription there? Anyone else have both subscriptions? What do you see?

As you can clearly see below, I have an active subscription to PS+

I’ve been seeing the same thing for a while now. It shows up fine on the PlayStation itself. I reckon the website is just busted.

I always forget that you even can do stuff like that from the console. I think I've bought and managed my games exclusively from the web store the entire time I've had my console. I checked on the console itself, and the subscription shows up correctly there. Thanks!

With all the talk about PS5, I thought it was worth mentioning this over here:

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy A Big Adventure, and Horizon Forbidden West will also launch on PS4.

Likewise, Deathloop from Arkane was previously confirmed for PS4.
