The GWJ Adventure Game Club - Main Thread

Eh. Not necessarily. Like with Tacoma, I ended up just streaming reruns of my playthough and that was that.

So we have garnished 18 votes, and there is once again a tie (it had been broken last night). Keep them coming!

Okay, folks, so we still have that pesky tie and no new votes, despite me advertising on Twitter and here. How about we close this poll on the 25th or 26th (today or tomorrow) and run a tiebreaker poll?

I've been lurking long enough that I might as well join you all.

Not sure if I helped with the tie situation or not but I put in my vote!

You did not. But I am grateful for your vote nonetheless!!!

Okay, fine. I've made an executive decision. And there's a second poll, because I'm super biased, and my pick would not be a fair one. Find out which two games tied for first and vote for YOUR favorite right this way!

I hope I haven't messed up the voting; I went in to vote and honestly I'd be delighted with either choice, so I'm happy to go with whatever everyone else wants. I did enter my name before I saw the options though so I don't know if created a dud vote?

Edit: I'm really excited about next month's options!

I don't see your vote so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to go in and vote now, Steveintendo... Be sure to tell me if you're still having issues, and I'll fix it. Somehow.

This morning we've got ten votes, and it's still a tie. You people are killing me.

These two options are too good Eleima! Personally, I can't choose one over the other... I'm pretty sure I know your choice though, and maybe it should be an executive decision after all?

Yikes. So we still don’t know if this months game is going to be brutal or a walk in the park.

Voted. oooooohhh... what's it gonna be

Vote exercised. Crossing fingers.

Two more votes so we’re either sorted or the stalemate continues.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to sit out in March. I'm a bit over-committed, unfortunately. But if I can either break a tie or reinforce one, let me know.

I voted too...

The suspense is murdering me...

Oooooooh...

I have fifteen votes so far! Which means that one game is just one vote ahead!! Keep them coming, folks!

I voted earlier and I hadn’t voted before... Maybe I’ll be the tiebreaker and popular with exactly half of you.

Incase anyone wants to buy Sexy Brutal on PS4 it is currently 60% off in the EU store. That’s until the 6th of March.

I own and want to play both of these games! Except I think I only voted for one of them in my original vote, and yet voted for the other on the tiebreaker vote. I contain multitudes.

You're part of the problem

It is also 60% off in the US store through 3/1. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the heads up, think PS4 would be preferred place to play.

Browsing the same PSN sale, Thimbleweed Park is 60% off too!

Thimbleweed Park is also free on the Epic store currently.

***drum roll***

And the fifth game of the GWJ Adventure Game club is.......

Thimbleweed Park!

It was a close race, but in the end, 2017's retro reunion of Maniac Mansion creators Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick prevailed!

In the first round, we had Thimbleweed Park and The Sexy Brutale tied for first place with 12 votes (63.2%).
In second place, The Red Strings Club (7 votes, 36.8%).
Two games came in third (6 votes, 31.6%): Subsurface Circular and my pick, Memoria.

With 19 participants casting 60 votes, folks voted for 3.2 games on average, a slight slump compared to last time (3.3).

In the final face off in which 20 of you voted, Thimbleweed got 11 votes and The Sexy Brutale got 9. A very, very near thing, so huge thanks to all for voting!

The thread for the game is over this way (it's already in the OP).

Darn it! Guess I'll sit this one out, as well. Enjoy, everybody! I'll see you next round.

That game is actually free on Epic Games' store until March 7th, so that's a great vote result. No excuse to miss this one!

This may be the first game I play via the Epic game store. That's if I don't watch Eleima's rerun streams of the game instead.
