The First Set Pictures From the Live-Action Star Wars TV Show Tease a Familiar Location

That Jawa Sandcrawler on the left has really been scaled down for TV.

Said in the Jeff Gerstmann voice:

“OH HELL YEAH!”

"After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe."

Oh, thank gawd it's not one of those two.

But I bet they are related!

The star wars universe has less genetic diversity than a pure bred dog convention.

There are other families in Rebels. I'd put my money on a descendent of Sabine.

I guess I gotta tag this thread too huh?

Keeping my expectations low for this one, which usually works out to my really liking something. So, I guess I am looking forward to this. Wait, damn it!

I am still amazed Moana's Dad is Jengo Fett, that means she will become Bounty Hunter in Chief of the Pacific ocean.

Anyone watched it? Is the conversation happening somewhere else?

I believe most people are talking about it in the Disney+ thread. (It's good btw!)

My wife has been continually impressed by the expressiveness of the Mandalorian even though he’s wearing a helmet and doesn’t say much.

Cara Doon mini-fig's arms need to be at least twice as big

Nice candy cane legs.

And the set doesn't spoil Mando's face either!

That's the same face for the Zorii Bliss minifig. Is this why we never she her and the mando in the same place??

Did I miss where the necklace at the end came from beyond the very specific call back?

Necklace? Are you in the right sci-fi show thread?

In the last episode, when he was bleeding out, Mando gave Cara a mythosaur skull necklace and instructions to show it to any Mandalorians she can find to secure their help with protecting the Child. At the end of the episode the Child is wearing it. I'm assuming it's probably something they give to all Foundlings (and non-Foundling Mandalorian children) until they're old enough to swear to the Creed and get their own helmet.

Ah, makes sense I was interrupted constantly in the episode and had no idea where it came from.

I'm concerned how much fan service is going into the second season. It's starting to get a whiff of Rise of Skywalker.

Yeah. I'm really not interested in the expanded lore. Star Wars has a bad history of being very good at making this massive universe feel extremely small. A little wink & nod here and their (darksabre) is cool, though.

This is how Dave Filoni works. It is fan service, but it's more like a curated fan service. He tends to revisit underutilized properties or hanging plot threads. Or even when he does do something like bring back Darth Maul it makes internal sense. He's not rehashing old plot lines, he's using familiar characters to explore new dimensions.

Well put. I'm not a huge fan of the whole religious aspect of the Mandalorians, but I sure as sh*t liked everything else they did. Except that village/Seven Samurai episode.

Fett's armor had to show up at some point, right?
