Ottawa/Gatineau (Canada) Tornado Check-in

There is only a couple of us, but an F3 tornado ripped through my neighbourhood, about a km (0.6 miles for you heathens) from my house..

I am fine, my house is fine. The neighbourhoods it ripped through, on the other hand, are wrecked.

It is very surreal. We, up here in Canada, see things like this in the US on TV. We don't get tornadoes here, let alone an F3. That is why you see some really, really stupid behaviour if you look at other videos available online.

Some images/video.

(Note, the girl screaming was scared, but is fine)

Yikes!!!!!

No damage for us, thankfully. No word yet on how long it will take to restore our power, though.

I had to eat 2 ice cream bars in my freezer Saturday morning without any power but other than that I am fine!

Power is back on as of midnight last night, about 54 hours after it went off. Had to throw out a couple hundred dollars worth of food, but other than that life is back to normal for us.

My plan in the event of a power failure long enough to defrost the chest freezer is to fire up the grill, invite the entire street over and start cooking!
