NFL 2018 Week 2

Niners are gonna set a penalties record by the end of this game.

I think the Titans and Jags should have had a discussion about uniforms before the game today.

Oooof looks like Muhammad Wilkerson is done for the season. Carted off maybe a broken leg.

Yeah, it doesn’t look like it, but the Niners defense was playing pretty well early on, but penalties gave Mahomes and Co. extra chances, which is less than ideal.

I was wondering if the Raiders and Niners swapped personas.

And this play is why Mahomes is special.

Without my glasses on, it looks like the Jags are wearing gym shorts.

That's called a Russell Wilson.

Niners are defending the Chiefs all wrong. Cushy zones to try and cover their speed just lets them stretch those zones and open up the seams. Niners don't have the 4-man pass rush to hurry them and keep them from doing that.

Chiefs are reminding me of Greatest Show on Turf Rams, and they should be defended like the Patriots did to those Rams. Press man, bump them, give no one a clean release, and send a blitzer from a different direction each time.

It's dangerous, you can get burned... but so what? That's what is already being done to the defense (and every other defense so far).

Tyreek Hill is 185 pounds. Hit him in the mouth every play. Don't back off and let him stretch the hell out of your zones.

EDIT: Of course, with Richard Sherman now out for the game, the Niners are missing both of their starting corners. Hard to play press like that.

Also, any time the Jags want to, you know, do something, that would be great.

Losing Cam Robinson and now also AJ Cann is stifling that offense.

I agree. I moved to St. Louis in 98, so I got a heavy dose of the GSoT. What the Chiefs have is very similar, but they threw in Travis Kelce in to make it just obnoxious.

Hunt is a fair Faulk comparison and why the comparison works, as he is a hell of a route runner, too. They Caine up Kelce on the line and Hunt in the backfield to run, or split them both out wide to go 5 wide.

f*cking officials

Yeah Kelce is a matchup problem that makes a lot of this offense go. Makes them harder to press.

Niners now down only 9 11. How is this possible? This was a 35-7 ballgame.

Flag football league.

Down 11, unless you can see the future.

Edit: Legion, even in your correction you still got it wrong!

That's what I typed. I don't know what you were looking at.

Hah. That bad PI call in the first and missed extra point might come back to haunt the Niners. At least it's an entertaining game and it saves me from watching Dolphins Raiders.

Exciting game in Jacksonville. 9-6.

Me and mine said basically the same thing

Niners need a turnover (or 3) to get back in this. Just got down by too much too early.

Ah Packers fans, too stupid to realize they are Female Doggoing about a rule that was changed because of Aaron Rodgers' collarbone.

Niners are playing a whole lot more man coverage now. Struggling to hang on at times (a LB on Kelce is rough) but slowing KC down way more than before.

Also, Alfred Morris has been too good to be a guy that wasn't even in camp until the team lost McKinnon for the season. Veteran players get shafted by roster limits and a lack of minor league (for young players to start in rather than occupy roster spots).

I had gotten behind, so Legion freaked me out. But still...

Well Vikings aren't shut out out. Jeez.

Dumb play by Jimmy.

WTF

Jimmy hurts himself, BEAT HARD comes in for 4th and goal, throws TD... and they call a bullsh*t offensive PI.

That's absurd.

This game is why, while I’m excited to watch the Chiefs, I have a hard time with those predicting a Super Bowl for the Chiefs. That defense is bad, and this is the third game in a row where teams have left significant points on the field.

The refs have been pretty bad this game.

They have, but that was a pick, I don’t care how much the announcers didn’t believe it.

The Chief defender arguably held Juszczyk. Juszczyk wasn't running a pick, he even reached up for the ball.

Blandino agreed as well. Juszczyk is allowed to run a route.

This officiating is ruining a hell of an interesting game. God damn.

Jimmy G on the cart to get his knee looked at.

Yikes. Luck got benched for the Hail Mary.

Jags lose that 9-6 ballgame. All the Jags fans that were smarmy to the Bortles "haters" are quiet this week.
