[Discussion] The Individual 1 Administration Thread 2

Let's follow and discuss what our newest presidential administration gets up to, the good, the bad, the lawsuits, and the many many indictments.

A Florida Massage Parlor Owner Has Been Selling Chinese Execs Access to Trump at Mar-a-Lago

Mother Jones wrote:

...

Beyond this sordid tale, there is another angle to the strange story of Yang: She runs an investment business that has offered to sell Chinese clients access to Trump and his family. And a website for the business—which includes numerous photos of Yang and her purported clients hobnobbing at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s private club in Palm Beach—suggests she had some success in doing so.

Yang, who goes by Cindy, and her husband, Zubin Gong, started GY US Investments LLC in 2017. The company describes itself on its website, which is mostly in Chinese, as an “international business consulting firm that provides public relations services to assist businesses in America to establish and expand their brand image in the modern Chinese marketplace.” But the firm notes that its services also address clients looking to make high-level connections in the United States. On a page displaying a photo of Mar-a-Lago, Yang’s company says its “activities for clients” have included providing them “the opportunity to interact with the president, the [American] Minister of Commerce and other political figures.” The company boasts it has “arranged taking photos with the President” and suggests it can set up a “White House and Capitol Hill Dinner.” (The same day the Herald story about Yang broke, the website stopped functioning.)

...

The GY US Investments website lists upcoming events at Mar-a-Lago at which Yang’s clients presumably can mingle with Trump or members of his family. This includes something called the International Leaders Elite Forum, where Trump’s sister, Elizabeth Trump Grau, will supposedly be the featured speaker. Attendees, the site says, will include “Chinese elites from various countries, including the US states, as well as elite leaders from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Australia, Europe and other countries and regions.” Another event for which Yang’s firm says it can provide access is Trump’s annual New Year’s celebration at Mar-a-Lago. Elsewhere on the website, the firm boasts that “GY Company arranged a number of guests to attend the 2019 New Year’s Eve dinner. All the guests took photos with” members of Trump’s family. This page displays photos of Chinese executives and a Chinese movie star with Donald Trump Jr., suggesting that these pics were arranged by the company, and also includes a photo of Yang with Elizabeth Trump Grau.

I also can't help but think of a story the New York Times ran early last fall that focused on how Trump was using an unsecured cell phone for his Executive Time and late night chats. The article noted that the Chinese government was listening to those calls and paying special attention to who Trump talked to. They were then targeting those people and using Chinese businesspeople and academics to influence them so that they would, in turn, advise Trump to take Chinese-friendly positions.

The Chinese having someone here who was plugged into Trump's and, seemingly, the entire GOP's circle would make such a scheme even more effective. Double points for the blackmail potential of the spas.

So not only do we have a President and a political party who have sold their souls to the Russians, it's looking more likely that they have also been compromised by the Chinese.

And a brothel madam. The party of family values indeed.

It, I, what, can't. Huh? Fah!

I see you found the 2020 slogan

Republicans elected a guy who owned five brothels back in November.

Technically they elected a dead brothel owner because the dude croaked three weeks before the election.

Who also had a number of rape allegations against him.

Guess who has been down in Alabama autographing bibles?

Why would you want a politician signing your bible?

Well as I posted on another forum, I might be tempted to give him a few bibles to autograph in order to take good notes on which version made him go up in flames. Then we would know for sure that The Message is the one true word of God and all those other versions are fakes!

And here I was thinking they just grabbed a book off the bookcase and didn't realize it was the bible. You know, an easy mistake to make.

Wouldn't that be desecration no matter who did it aside from Jesus or perhaps the pope?

Well he could easily fix that little problem simply by declaring himself God.

Now I just had the most scariest idea of a Trump coloring bible. *shudder*

It'll probably be more of an Indiana Jones type thing where Trump's signature is burned off the bible as soon as it's stored somewhere.

Individual 1 took to Twitter last night (unsurprisingly) to call Ann Coulter a "Wacky Nut Job" and claim that he is "Winning on the Border". And, you know, the usual stuff like saying every Democrat is a Far Left Radical.

Nice to see him actually yelling at one of the wacky nut jobs for once instead of just tuning in and doing anything they want him to.

Oddly, this conversation between pot and kettle is wholly unsatisfying.

From Trump’s second tweet: “I am stopping an invasion”

He’s delusional.

This is an older article but I found it after thinking about the same thing after reading The Guns of August and Castles of Steel- there are deep parallels between Trump and Kaiser Wilhelm II (not even counting both men's concern about their tiny hands).
What Happens When a Bad-Tempered, Distractible Doofus Runs an Empire?

Insulting other leaders, thinking his personal diplomacy is best, going embarrassingly off-script, compulsive lying, attacking opposition parties as traitors, fetishizing the military, chaos in the executive... it's all there.

Our Commander in Tweet just tweeted that making daylight savings time permanent is “O.K. with me”. So that’s it. We’re done jumping back and forth an hour, right? I mean they argued that his Twitter account should be seen as official statements from the president. Isn’t this is how things work these days.

Each spring gives me a bit of a chuckle as the same grumbly gears turn for a week or so after we've shoved ourselves through yet another seemingly meaningless hoop. The same old reasons why we should and shouldn't are recirculated. The same old, "We're gonna do something!" talk shows up in the news. It would be even more funny if this were the only legitimate feather Trump puts in his cap, and only by accident after a bullsh*t tweet.

What a broken clock is right moment.

If only he was competent enough to actually get anything done

No, no, no, please God, no! (I mean competent enough generally, not about this particular question.)

As a broken clock, I am gravely offended by this comparison to Donald Trump.

Are you using up one of your two daily opportunities to be right with this gimme?

That broken clocks are right only twice a day is an offensive stereotype grounded in centuries-old prejudice against timepieces.

If we convert to the hexapartite day you could be right 6 times a day!

A stereotype started by Big Sundial no doubt

It would be fitting if the only positive thing that history books remember Trump for is getting rid of daylight savings.

If his tweet accomplishes the impossible (getting rid of daylight savings time), then I'd have to say that God's purpose for appointing him President would be complete!

Only Trump doesn't have the authority, it's up to congress.
