That's still pretty short for the price, at least compared to the previous one. Still good so far.

It's only $50, still $10 cheaper than most PS4 games.

I'll need to revisit my opinion after I best it. I've been playing a bunch of AC and other super long games, so my value meter may be off.

I can't find my play time in the PS app or on the web site. Just trophy list.

Where are you guys seeing that?

On the PS5 itself, go to your profile (on the pulldown/popup menu below/above your icon - depending on if you do it via the Home screen or the Control Center), and the second tab is "Games" - it'll list every game you've played on the PS4/PS5 (nothing from the PS3, IIRC) and the total play time.

I think that information's only available on the PS5, not via the app or the web site.

Miles Morales is definitely longer than I thought or heard about. I looked it up on How Long to Beat and saw that the "main" timer is 8 hours, the "completionist" is 16, and I picture the completionist time including the platinum trophy which means 100%ing the map, then a new game +.

Meanwhile, according to Sony's stats I put 18 hours into it and am only 66% done. I finished the story, cleared the map, and did all the app jobs, so I guess the other 34% is... I don't know, trophies and New Game+?

That's really weird. I'm right about at the same % of completion, but still have 3 story missions left (I think), and have cleared most but not all of the map. I've done all the holo-trainings, all but 1 or 2 time capsules, 2 of the 6 bases, most of the caches, and all the FNSM activities outside of Harlem. So, clearly, I have some things left to do. Don't know why yours is showing such a percentage left to do!

Other expandalone games this generation (Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Dishonored: Death of the Outsider jump to mind first) have launched at $40. That's what I'd have expected Miles Morales to go for, so $50 feels to me like the $10 price increase for PS5 applied to both platforms. Since I'm a sad happy sucker without a PS5, I'm waiting for a price drop or at least a sale for $40.

I just wrapped this game up. Pretty fun. Feels much shorter but I think also having only one antagonist beyond rhino sure made it shorter. I really enjoyed the sinister Six. I wish there was a few more story lines or bosses to chase. Either way a very fun web swinging time.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales - PS4 & PS5 (Standard Edition) is on sale on PSN for $34.99 $49.99

The Ultimate Edition is on sale for $55.29 $69.99

And finally coming to PC in August. Have fun, y'all. It's a great one.

Looking forward to it! I think this was the biggest thing remaining that made me wish I had access to a PS4.

This dropped for PC today and it's so good. Three hours in, I’m finally clicking with the traversal system, and my god it’s amazing. Maybe the best I’ve ever experienced in a game like this. Swinging around NYC is just so joyous. I just spent some time doing that and loved it.

I just learned that Miles Morales is coming out in a few months and that’s the game I’m really interested in. I already played this on a borrowed PS4.

I picked this up yesterday as well. Runs really nicely on my aging gaming laptop at 1080x1920.

Fighting seems to be very "Batman" inspired.

Traversal is fun, though I still need to click with it. What are the little white circles I see as I'm swinging around? Is there any way to be deliberate about which things I swing off? Should I care?

One last question? M&K or gamepad? I'm thinking of trying gamepad. My left hand starting aching very quickly during traversal.

I think the white circles are things that you can zip to directory, like the edge of a building or the top of a pole. You can also follow up the “zip to point” move with a move that launches you off and gives you a big burst of speed.

During the stealth segments, zipping to specific points is a great way not to be seen!

It was built for PS4 first and gamepad plays really well. Try it

Yeah I tried both and a gamepad is definitely better.

This is one of the few times I’ve really envies folks that get to experience this for the first time. It is, no pun intended, spectacular. Insomniac absolutely nailed web-swinging.

Spoiler: it continues to get better as you unlock web-slinging abilities.

EDIT: I think I’ll end up double-dipping for PC once it price drops, and I’m super excited for Miles Morales.

I am 4 hours in, around 20% completion. I don't get the same level of awe that many others seem to be having. The game is beautiful, but I have found the web slinging to be just average. There is a lot of physics that just isn't right so I find myself expecting one thing and the game does another. The combat is too quick to really enjoy some of the mechanics but like the Batman games, it is fun.

I am only 4-5 story missions in, and have been spending most of my time collecting backpacks and taking pictures. I was expecting the game to create artificial boundaries to allow me to go back and forth between the main mission, side quests and open world stuff (as games like GTA and Assassin's Creed does). I feel like I will have all the tokens I need before I even continue the story. If the rest of the story missions are like the opening mission, I expect some great fights.

When it comes to controls, I started on controller but quickly switched to keyboard and mouse. Normally console ports do a really pour job at supporting the keyboard and mouse, but this game nailed it.

Regardless of my complaints, I am enjoying the game which is the most important part and do expect I will finish it (unless it creates some really hard fight that I can't get pass that forces me to stop).

I'm not too far in - just opened up Landmarks - but I'm enjoying it immensely. Unlike Kazar, I'm finding the controller a much better fit for me. There is to much loaded around my left hand for me to get comfortable.

I'm still button mashing a lot during combat, though I started to employ some tactical combos during the first construction site clearance. Being able to pause and go into the moves list is a nice touch. That enabled me to focus on a specific combo (under slide for shield bearers) until I got it right.

I do need to work on my graphics settings, though. Playing on my aging gaming laptop (GTX1080, i7), I'm experiencing some stutter during texture loading and some audio crackle/lag. RPS has a nice article about it.

Beat the game at 87% total completion. Used M+K the entire time. Halfway through the first of three DLC. This game is a blast!

I need to stop and think to do this more often, as I fall into the button-mashing trap constantly.

I've resorted to maxing out my drones. I can have 4 out at the same time. Between that and the suit ability to AoE web everything, it's made a huge difference in how long fights last.

You'll figure out fighting as more options open up and it becomes super natural as the game continues. It's hard early on.

I wasn't complaining about controller itself. It is fine and I use it when I play on the SteamDeck. I just was amazed how well the keyboard and mouse works and I love being able to snap in a different direction and quickly web that way.

What's the trick with world traversal?

I'm doing a mission where I'm chasing a bad guy and he keeps getting sway from me. Also had the same problem with a car chase street crime.

Not sure what is with the PS4 controller but for Xbox controller you hit the A button to do a quick web pull that will speed you up. Also if you see any locations with a circle (ex. top of a light pole) you can hold down both trigger buttons which pull you quickly to that spot and when you land hit A and you'll jump forward with a big burst of speed.

Those two things will help you zoom through the city and catch up with any chase sequences.

The dash is the jump button while in the air. Great for quick direction changes too. The circle one is a skill you have to unlock. I highly recommend getting it as it is the fastest way to get around. I almost never web swing anymore. Just leap from building to building.

After I got that, I only swung for pleasure, not for traversal.

Sorry got what? Is this one of the skills in the skill tree?

It is a skill called point launch. It if you land and immediately jump it launches you forward.

Perfect thank you.

Ive been enjoying this but I just tried to launch it (on laptop) and steam says I have to wait an hour while it downloads a patch. WTF?
