You'll be fine. The first thing that really changes is aluminum production. But it's easy to tweak to fix if you have a factory. You will want to double check all your water in your coal plants, and also double check your fuel production if you have fuel generators.
I just loaded in my old save, and immediately heard the breakers flip. Did a quick look around, decided I didn't have the brainpower to remember how everything was hooked up and then figure out what broke, and shut it down. I'll have to go back in when I've got more focus.
This is a legitimate strategy.
What you do is you leave the power shut down, take your groovy tech and some goodies, pile as much as will fit into your truck, and go over to the opposite end of the map to start a brand new base with all the nice technology.
Even better version of that. Make a massive storage column that feeds itself all the way down to the base and hook that up to a resource grinder. Dismantle your base and throw everything in the storage tower (except for what you want to save for a new base) Leave your PC running overnight and collect a million tickets in the morning.
NOW start your new base :D
in a similar vein. this is my 4th full restart, but it's the first time iver ever used smart splitters (i don;t think they had the over option in previous versions, and i think maybe smart spitters were way up in the tier list instead of attainable separately with the mam) I've never been good at perfect efficiency balancing, so i always prefer to slightly overproduce for whatever the next stage is. This time I was able to build in overflow splitters and route that slight overage directly into the grinder for near constant tasty ticket production.
Exciting new features coming in update five.
That was hilarious. I love Coffee Stain.
Now with more cosmetic items.
Niiice!
Train update in U5. Horizontal pillars. Also, at the very end... new water effects?
Does this look like a mess of clipping or the foundation support I was going for?
Is it too early to decorate for Christmas?
My train elevator topper
So many good improvements!
I'm more excited for this than I am any of the train stuff

seriously, placing nice looking pipe connections has always driven me nuts
I've started playing this. I'm going in relatively blind beyond having seen some of the creations of others and trailers. Exploring and discovering has been great fun so far. I have been working through the MAM and unlocking Tiers without worrying too much about efficiency yet. I think the game is going to punish me for that shortly. I've discovered coal and the numbers and complexities of the items needed to advance are ramping up.
Time to establish satellite bases and supply lines I guess.
It does sort of punish you for that. But the good news is that you get everything back when you tear down a building, so completely tearing down your starting base and rebuilding is feasible.
I'm finished with my new iron factory.
Some mistakes were made but it is producing 24 modular frames, reinforced iron plates, and rotors every minute.
Also I exceeded my available power
f*ck. I'm hooked. Woke up thinking about screw production efficiency and planning ways to bring coal/water closer to my base.
Edit: this game is so such a strange mix. I had been exploring and kept running into areas I "couldn't reach" and in my head I was adding 'yet' because I was still unlocking tools and had just added the parachute item. Then something clicked. I'm carrying a couple hundred bags of cement and can materialize platforms and ramps just about anywhere. This began my campaign of paving the world. Slowly extending foundation roads towards my satellite bases. My brain gets perverse enjoyment of having all slabs aligned to the same grid and part of the same cohesive block, so that is my side goal.
Now I'm slowly working towards the second Space Elevator unlocks. Lots of 500 count assembler only parts. I haven't quite worked out the logistics for verticality in factory workflows, but I've got 'sprawling' down pat.
Now part of me is wondering which processes actually tie me to the ground and if maybe I should stop worrying about slopes and inclines and instead normalize my plane upwards....
Lifts!

You need to find some alternative recipes like this one to help.
Cast screws are legit.
Welcome Rezzy!
I can't really tell you why, but this game has stuck with me like almost no other. I've put over 400 hours into an early access game. I worked my way all the way up the tech tree about three times. I love starting over. I love decorating things. I love optimizing my factories. I love exploring the landscape. I love keeping up with the community. I love lizard doggos.
That's the first recipe I unlocked! My next step was to dedicate an entire iron node to screw production.
I watched a quick "things I wish I had known" video and some of the build and tear down shortcuts make a lot more sense now. They give the tooltips on screen, but it isn't always quite clear how to implement them.
Crafted some explosives and opened my first cat something something node. Now I'm tearing through that research tree but it looks like oil will need to be next on my exploration checklist. I scanned for it and forgot what I had done before the first ping came back.
As en experiment I blew up one of those stationary poison farter plant things. Satisfying but I'm still unclear if those things are good for anything beyond gatekeeping.

Not always but those areas usually have something valuable. You'll get some equipment to go into them without taking damage soon enough.
. I love lizard doggos.
Don't watch Let's Game it Out.

Haha! Yeah, that was pretty funny.
Now, you can have your own plush lizard doggo...
