The Division 2 - Catch All

I was going to Day One this, but for reasons I've waited until first eyeballed on sale... Well it's just gone 30% off on PS4 so today is the day!

I've missed 500+ posts and I'm not sure I can begin to skim back that far, so just checking if there's an active PS4 clan? Cheers.

Yup, AgentsWithJobs. You'll have to unlock the clan system in game after a few quests...shoot us a request once you do.

Ran into my first BSOD in years playing today. Strange.

Did they change the backup system recently? There used to be a prompt asking me to press a button and I could hope into someone else to help them out. Now I get the audio que but I don't see anyway to actually accept it. I'm playing on XBox.

Artist redditor u/Grandarex drew this totes adorbs picture of their agent.

If you care to see more, they have a deviantart page with a variety of stuff.

While crit dmg builds my be going the way of the dodo after the PTS changes happen (maybe) there's now a vest on the clan vendor that has the highest crit damage roll i've seen yet. 18.5%

Just did the bank HQ mission by The Campus.

Or tried.

And failed and died.

Once out of the six or seven times I tried i felled the armored minigunner but then was surrounded by grunts. There are so many points of entry and I’m level 15 and they’re all 16.

Will try again later. Still fun even when yelling because my agent won’t leave cover or I start a reload on my LMG usually unnecessarily.

Put in a request for the PS4 clan: durant_4

Also, if there’s space for my dad he’d like to join: AGLMcNaughton

I'm not sure if I am remembering that fight correctly, but I usually find it is easier to down all of the grunts and then take care of a minigunner. The hammerguys are the worst though.

Ran through DZ East and South tonight, pretty fun, although once I got to East there were a couple groups of rogue agents and it was too much solo. Right now, I'm stacking a bunch of armor repair talents that mean it comes back quickly as long as I am in cover. Pretty fun!

I always love fighting the True Sons. Just some of the comments they come up with is pure gold. I was peppering someone in cover and they eventually shouted "Go shoot someone else" and I lost it. Aim suffered horribly while I tried to control my laughter!

Yeah they changed it. It was like hold M then W or something. Now you go to the map and go to Matchmaking. Unless I’m missing something. I’d love if they showed what level the agent/mission are so I could make an informed choice, which used to be the case.

Thanks. Game downloaded and installed... Might get to play it soon...

Good idea. Also I think I’m gonna switch up my skills. Maybe the drone’s better than the turret. And I’ve got the foam mod on the chem launcher that maybe I can use on the big baddy. Perhaps I’ve too strongly attached myself to healing chem + turret as my skill load out.

Do you try to do everything solo or matchmake? If you're having trouble on a mission the matchmaking isn't a bad way to go. I struggled (And still do) with soloing in this game.

I solo because I don’t like feeling I’m imposing my goofy play style on other people. I just roam and don’t necessarily try events or missions, until the whim strikes.

That said I might do some matchmaking if I can’t pull this off in a few more tries.

There's nothing to impose while doing missions. You either achieve the goal or not. There's nothing to be gained by doing missions solo.

I think you make my point for me.

For me, the thing gained by doing missions solo is that I can soak up the ambiance of the mission area, the NPC quotes, and take my time spotting all the loot and collectibles. Some areas have mini-stories (maybe micro-stories is a better term :D). Doing missions in a group is just rush rush rush.

Once I've got to the end, though, if I'm having trouble with a boss, I'll definitely restart and matchmake to finish it off.

That's a lot of it. I'm also selfish and just want to follow my proclivities and so I might just meander aimlessly. That's what I want to do in the world. That's not terribly compelling for a group.

The goal is completing the mission i said nothing about how you go about it. That's why we have clans with group of Goodjers where these missions are much easier to complete and there's more than just you two that like to do missions the meandering way. You'd be surprise.

That isn't the goal, is what I'm after here. I may not even start a mission in any given gaming session. I may not want to then change my mind and take one on, like the Bank HQ mission--I had no intention of doing more than logging on, running around, and shooting stuff for like 20 minutes. 40 minutes in I decided to do a mission, and then however many minutes later I bailed. I can't imagine many folks are in a similarly capricious state at a similar time and have any interest in joining me on a random walk around D.C. It's certainly something I consider before teaming up with anyone, which was all I was getting at, not to say I won't ever.

I have nothing against people who just want to get through it all. I know I'm in the minority. I was just saying why I like to solo. Believe me, after years of WoW PUGs, nobody's reason for playing a mission would surprise me. And whenever I replay a mission or get in trouble, you better believe I use match making.

We were talking about you completing the mission. Nothing else. If you don't want to do it. That's you. You do you, but if you're having problems completing the mission there's ways to help with that if you can't do it alone.

I think you would be surprised at how many people just like roaming DC. I spend the vast majority of my time doing that. I'll do a mission on occasion, but just doing random events is still very enjoyable to me. If you throw up a clan text asking if anyone just wants to goof around in DC I expect you'll find some companions.

Maybe I’ll give it a shot.

Anyone got a reliable link to a map showing all the orange dye chests?

There's no fun quite like the fun of shooting a guy about to throw a grenade and watching him blow himself up.

This has been my loadout for a while as well. I love finding a high place for the turret and letting it watch my flank, or setting it up to decoy a tank while I empty a LMG into his back. I'm not so sure about the chem- it's been useful but maybe I should just play a little more defensively and use armor kits; it doesn't add a capability I don't already have. The rolly bombs just look fun in their videos so maybe I'll give those a shot.
