Uplay has always worked fine for me. Never caused me any issues. I honestly think Steam is as equally annoying than the other launchers. But what do I know.

The whole thing leaves me torn between the fact that competition is good for the consumer (in the long run, usually), but having to run a half-dozen launchers to find my games, with each of them nibbling at the resources that my games need to run just feels. . . . foreboding.

I think just a matter of time before somebody writes some sort of centralized interface that displays a single chat overlay - possibly including various non-launcher chat services like Discord or even non-gaming services like Facebook Messenger, includes a browser for all of the different store fronts, integrates streaming services like YouTube and Twitch, and executes just the portion of the service that is required to launch a game or service (streaming, chat, etc.) and then immediate shuts it/them down when you close the game.

I'm actually surprised nobody has tried to build something like that yet and would do it myself if I was a better programmer. Alas, those that can - do. Those that can't - become Systems or Test Engineers.

I imagine that there are serious issues with licensing that prevent something like this being done, otherwise there would likely be dozens of versions of these centralized interfaces vying for attention, with more and more coming out all the time until dozens of meta-centralized interfaces spring up to organize all the centralized interfaces.

So the new Radeon VII is equal to a 2080Ti?

No but the Division 2 is apparently an AMD sponsored Title as it will be given away free with the new Radeon 7

Apparently these were announced during AMDs presentation at CES

Yeah one of the things that appealed to me in Division 1 is the layout of NYC. I used to live there, work there and hung out there so seeing some of the areas in a game was awesome to see. Dismissing the death, pain and destruction of course

Yeah, it’s nice to be able to escape into a game-world, isn’t it

Yes

Tempted to get a Radeon 7, but not sure if it can run 3440x1440 resolution on high settings at 60fps.

I So want this game, and now I see this promo, just after getting my own CPU!

I sent a message to AMD anyways, to see if they'd be nice enough to give me a code

From what I have heard in my research people are expecting it to fall in between the 2080 and 2080TI. However, pre proper benchmarks and testing hard to say really. A lot of time in last 15 years X company has been advertised by certain games. Sometimes it did actually make a difference but often it's more advertising then reality.

Value wise I expect the Radeon 7 to probably beat the 2080TI however I doubt max specs it will. Would be nice if it did though.

I got my pre-order key from Greenman Gaming.
I hope that is a sign that beta or other testing events are upcoming.

I think I'm going to hold off on my order. I loved the first game but I want to see reviews etc. or get a better feel for things. I don't think I can do both Anthem and Division at the same time so I may see what seems more interesting before I buy.

I'll see y'all in TD2 once it reaches $13 for the gold edition, which is when I jumped in on TD1.

Sounds really good to me

Any news of closed beta or private beta?

I spoke too soon. February 7

Feels like a good move to have regular PvP from launch and to level match gear in Dark Zones (but not all the time.)

The PvP looks great! Looking forward to digging into this one.

I am so pumped for this. I really enjoyed the first!

I LOVE Ubisofts worldbuilding - I am currently playing Farcry 5,and the entire world is such a treat to traverse - Primal was the same way, and especially The Division as well, which is the best fully realized city I've ever seen in any game. It still blows my mind when I look at it to this day - Its just such an immense, massive world you can explore that it boggles my mind.

That is why I purchase every single ubisoft game as soon as I can.

The 5 Biggest Changes to the Dark Zone in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2

Biggest thing I read

The Division 2 will feature a 40ish hour story mode that can be played solo or cooperatively, and they’ve said that it was designed with endgame in mind first.

This is pretty cool too

Finally, there is a new clan system that puts the game more in-line with other modern shooters. Once you’re in a clan with your pals, you’ll have a dedicated clan chat, direct clan messaging, and a bulletin board for sharing your hopes and dreams (or when you’re looking for a group to roll with). Clans will also have their own progression tree, which will unlock special clan perks and collaborative goals.

To wrap things up, we are happy to announce that separate balancing is in effect for PVE and PVP modes. Skills and talents in organized PVP, for example, will have normalized versions that have different statistics than their PVE counterparts. In The Division 2, we want to keep PVP competitive and healthy without negatively impacting players who enjoy PVE.

Sounds like they learned their lessons from the first game.

Cautious optimism engaged

Very excited about this. I pre-ordered from Best Buy for the $10 gift certificate and because my Gamers Club Unlocked membership has yet to expire. I was tempted to go for the Gold edition, but it was too pricey, and I don't know that I need to pre-commit to the DLC.

I heard an interesting fact on Jeff Cannata's DLC podcast this morning: the devs say that The Division 1 is the most completed Ubisoft game ever (as in, more players completed the single player campaign than any previous Ubisoft game, or at least that's how I took it). Surprising to me, as someone who fell off of the Division late in the game (though did end up finishing it a few months back).
