The Division 2 - Catch All

uplay = wayfarerman for PC. Is there a PC group established already?

Exploration wise, this game is amazing. Really shows the lack of exploration in Anthem. I mean, any nook or space you go into, there's always something to find.

Yes, AgentsWithJobs, ranalin is the owner

I heard someone say to hold off on the side-missions until later, as they’re worth more ‘later’. I know that in Div1 I’d hold off on collecting all the phones, etc, until I hit 30 because the xp-gain was tied to your level (world-level didn’t matter). Getting those extra caches for each “level” (10k xp, or whatever it was) you gained past 30 gave you that many more chances for some nice gear.

The items you get from the side missions scale based off your level. Plus some of them are required to complete projects at your settlements.

The only thing i've seen that i thought 'hmmm i should've waited' was the pvp mission when it gives you the free LMG.

Was feeling like age/skill was against me during the beta; basically just trying to run through everything solo, it was frustrating and punishing. Having now done a bunch of the missions on story and normal difficulty with grouped randoms, I'm a little more confident now. So if you are holding off on getting this because you too were soloing everything in beta, take heart - its a wholly different ballgame with other folks around. I do like how this game tends to reward being wary/smart rather than the gung-ho folks who try to charge into a room of yellow rushers.

I had the exact same feeling in the beta. I'm now suspecting that they upped the difficulty a bit in the beta to make the limited content last a little bit longer. Either that or I got a lot better really quickly

Ranalin do you invite folks? Or can we join in game somehow? Not seeing anything in game.

So games like The Division are called "looter shooters"

But The Division has looters
who shoot at you
and you shoot them
and they drop loot

So what is The Division 2 called?

A shooting looter looter shooter?

You have to make it far enough into the game to unlock the clan functionality and you can see or request invites. I've already sent you one. I think i'm current at the moment. I know there's a handful or more people jumping on later tonight.

Some purple but it will give it to you at the level you do the quest. Mission is the introductory one for the DZ.

Dumb question, but do you remember what kind? M60? M249?

Nope because 5 steps later i picked up a higher level one and never equipped it.

edit: not to sound like a dick although it probably will come across that way.

I could care less what i was using as long as it was the most powerful one i could find.

I do have my favorites that i will want to use, but that's for the end game. While leveling up i instantly scoop up and equip anything that has a higher (green +) damage or gear score numbers and sold off or broke down everything else without hesitation or a second glance.

I know people like to play with certain kits and a specific way all the way through, but that's not how you level up quickly

No worries at all.

"Warning: This item has already been crafted."

Does this mean I can only make one mod from a blueprint, even if that mod will fit more than one of my weapons?

Just a heads up, when you complete the requirements to unlock clans you may have to logout a few times to get the game to update. I ran into that issue last night.

Weapon mods are different now. They aren't discrete items any more - now you just unlock each mod when you craft it, and then it's magically available for all weapons that can fit it.

I believe GEAR mods are still individual loot drop items like before.

I've heard this too about waiting until later to do side missions but for me on this first character, it's all about flow. I'm LOVING the way that things open up and the story that is unfolding and waiting to do those side missions later doesn't make sense if you're going to move throught the zones. The way I've been approaching it was that end game grinds, nice gear, etc will always be there for me to chase once I hit 30, but leveling for the first time is a unique experience. Again, this is my way of approaching the game/quests and if getting through content the most effeciently is someone elses way of approaching the game...brilliant.
Looking forward to see ya all in game (although that business trip I leave on in 2 days will put a cramp in my post-apocolyptic DC exploration).

I'm iPhoneAppz on PC...please add me to the clan.

Thanks!

Hey Ranalin, I should be able to get up to clan readiness sometime tonight... would love an invite.

I am totally with you on this one. Yes, side missions always give you 33% of the exp required to level up and it's worth more on lvl 28 vs. lvl 6 but I don't want to artificially alter the intended game flow while leveling up. Come on, these games nowadays have crazy fast grind to level cap. Optimizing "the grind" might save you a few hours but it really is not a big deal at all.

Tkkyl. Would love a clan invite (on PC)

Would love a PC Clan invite. I'll be starting this tonight.

Dumb question time: what do the resource area and resource map icon colors mean?

I thought it was green = available, red = full, white = empty, but I seem to remember hitting some white areas that had resources and red ones that I wasn't full on, so I'm confused.

Not sure what you mean by resources. Crafting ones show up as green/blue/purple. If you're talking about the icons on the map, Light blue= side missions, Red = held by enemy, Green = Friendly, White completed (or ? which are unexplored Red areas)

I think i'm caught up on most invites. If you've sent invites in with a different uplay name than your forum name send me a message here or on discord to let me know.

There are small areas on the map called "crafting resource nodes" that typically have 3 containers of resources. I've only seen water, food, components, and umm maybe one other. The nodes can be colored red, green, or white.

I'm about six or seven hours in, and I'm completely digging it. This is The Division, refined and improved and streamlined to a T. The guns feel good, there's far more movement required, the enemies are both less spongy and more difficult, the armor thing is a nice touch to "explain" why people take so many shots to kill, the map is outstanding ... it's just better in practically every way. It's everything a sequel can and should be.

Hi Ranalin, could I get an invite on PC? MNDocjoe2 on Uplay. Haven't bought a big game in quite a while, looking forward to digging into this!

Edit: Dangit, apparently I have 2 Uplay accounts and registered to the wrong one. So edited to show the proper account name.
