I picked it up in the recent sale and have been loving it. I'm HeidShot on PSN if anyone fancies adding me.

I'll send an invite, but I'm not sure how much my timezone will match, but maybe we will get lucky.

I'm open to invites as well on PS4. Still very new to the game though.

Yep, accepted - saw you coming on right as I was logging off a couple of times. I usually play with my mic off, but feel free to ping me a message if you want to make a party.

I've mostly played assault- the range of guns is good and I like to be able to hit vehicles. Support and recon are both playable and useful too but I don't like the medic guns as far as I have got.

Yeah, I love to play medic, but the starting 2-3 weapons are pretty much pea-shooters. The Suomi especially has loads of recoil and doesn't seem to hit particularly hard, so it's pot-luck whether you take someone out who is more than a few metres away. I miss the beefy rifles from BF1. It looks like a few of the later weapons will be better, but it's a grind to get them.

That makes sense now. I've been primarily playing the medic to learn the ropes and stay useful. There were several times I thought I had someone dead-to-rights and still lost the firefight. Looks like I'll have to spend time on figuring out weapon advancement.

Also playing on the PS4. I'll look you all up.

Ooh, more stuff. I don't really know what it all does, but it looks shiny.

Are they about to head out in the tractor?

Yep

Been getting back into this on the PC with the Tides of War events. Anyone still playing?

I'm playing, relatively newbie, trying to unlock all the weapons. The "new" mode is more fun than expected.

I still play, on PC. Usually play weekday evenings (After 9pm EST) as weekdays is sporadic.

I played 3 rounds to get credit for the event but probably won't go back. 8v8 doesn't really feel like BF to me. Has anyone unlocked the medic gun yet?

I agree in that it doesn't feel like BF because is only 8vs8 but is pretty fast and takes less time than a normal conquest, which is a good option when you don't want to spend half hour or more playing a conquest match je

About the weapon, I didn't unlocked it yet.

The 8v8 matches go quickly. Easier to get in a tank if that's your thing. Teamwork a lot more important. I thought it was pretty fun.

Since someone asked about the new medic weapon, here is a video review of the new weapon

Anyone else seeing a bug on PS4 where joining a Squad Conquest match gives you a black screen? I can shoot, reload and move around, but the visuals don't load.

It goes away if I kill the application and restart the game, but it's happened three or four times now, only on Squad Conquest.

Yeah, that's happened to me as well. But it's been doing it now and then for the last two weeks. So in my case it's not related to squad conquest or the recent event.

It's fun but I wish they did more than 3 maps. It's like domination with a tank in the mix. I thought it was pretty fun and felt much more focused than standard conquest.

Agreed, I can't stand normal conquest (it's too often either an unfocused melee around one or two points, or a boring carousel from point to point to point) but squad conquest feels a bit more tactical and fun.

I'm looking forward to Rush coming back. I've always enjoyed that mode. It was amazing in BF4.

Does anyone have a good link to how supply drops and those V2 rockets work? Or just a simple explanation as to how you make it happen. I've played about 40 hours now and still haven't stumbled over it.

You have to be the squad leader. You accumulate squad points by killing enemies, capturing control points, etc... You get extra points if these things are done in response to the leader issuing an order. As your squad accumulates points, the leader can order drops, rockets, and vehicles. On Xbox, that's done by holding down both bumper buttons and then selecting what you want. There is a menu that comes up that shows you how many squad points each type of item costs.

Short and sweet. Thank you!

Thanks. This spurred me to learn about that interface. It added some more insight, and I've even played squad leader a couple times. It was pretty fun and about the only way to complete some of the mission requirements.

The new tides of war unlocks this week ensure you get to grips with the squad leader reinforcement calls, so expect people squabbling over wanting to be squad leader :p

And the Stug!!

I could be wrong, but I think you just have to be IN a squad that is calling for reinforcement drops, not actually doing the order yourself. As long as the squad leader still calls in the drops, everyone should benefit (I think).

Yep, that's correct. I was in a bunch of different squads, some of which I was the leader, and I got credit for all the call-ins that happened in each squad towards the Tides of War goal.

Is there a way to request/make yourself squad leader? I randomly ended up as leader in one game but I've no idea how.

If you request an order from your squad leader, and he doesn't respond within a minute or so, you'll be promoted to squad leader.

Ahah. Excellent. I shall definitely do that, there’s a lot of folks who don’t do anything with squad points or set any objectives.
